Volume 11 Chapter 6 Shiori-chan’s Worth

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

McGaref is massive, but its governing system is a mess.

The governor sent by the Quvarian Empire is just a figurehead. Real power lies with five councilors: Mr. Ralph, representing the Merchant Guild; Granny Anne, the Market Representative; Mr. Gandolf, head of the Craftsmen’s Union; Mafat, the Church Leader; and Noshisshi, from the Autonomous Government Army.

Back when I was the First Emperor, I forced McGaref—an independent nation then—to surrender and integrated it into the Quvarian Empire. The system hasn’t changed much since. As the First Emperor, I struggled with the city’s impenetrable walls, so I turned the key players against McGaref’s royal family, capturing and executing them. The Queen and princesses were violated on the city walls—every orifice used—before I had them thrown off to their deaths.

Official records apparently gloss over this part, but as the guy who did it, my memory’s crystal clear. The Queen and her daughters spread their legs, figuring it was better than a brutal gang r***. It’s a grim, savage world.

After the war, the traitors who helped me were rewarded with council seats. I planned to assassinate them later to dismantle their power, but I—the First Emperor—died before that could happen. Time passed, things got murky, and here we are.

Now, I was in a secret meeting arranged by Councilor Anne. I’d asked for it in the morning, and by early afternoon, she’d made it happen. Impressive, as always.

”Alright,” Anne said, her voice warm but sharp, “today’s agenda is courtesy of Takumi. Anyone here meeting him for the first time?”

”I had a brief chat with him when I took Shiori as my foster daughter,” Mr. Ralph said, raising his hand and glancing at Shiori behind him. “Seemed like a sharp kid.”

I hadn’t expected Mr. Ralph to bring Shiori. At this point, she’s freshly adopted, barely more than a glorified servant. She’s in the process of proving her brilliance and earning his trust. As always, she’s got that idol-like cuteness—big, sparkling eyes and her hair tied up in a bun. Not blue yet, though; the dye hasn’t been invented, so it’s still black. Those eyes are staring right at me, and I can’t help but think… this is the girl whose “private time” is so crude it could wake the dead.

Whoops, my mind’s wandering somewhere weird. Shiori probably has her future memories too.

”What about the rest of you?” Anne asked, her gaze shifting.

”We know him well,” Ms. Marina said with a polite smile.

”To us sisters, Sir Takumi is our savior,” Ms. Ranka added, her tone equally warm.

Behind them stood Mori-Mori, looking younger than I remembered.

”Savior, huh? That’s a big claim,” Anne said, raising an eyebrow. “Where’s the connection?”

”We’ll explain later,” Ms. Marina said smoothly. “But we’re prepared to give him everything.”

”Indeed,” Ms. Ranka chimed in. “My sister and I were just discussing a meeting with Sir Takumi.”

”Thanks to you, Councilor Ralph,” Mori-Mori added, bowing respectfully, “for luring my brute of a husband to that brothel.”

So, Ms. Marina and the others have their memories too. I’d heard Ms. Marina was taken out as a decoy in Seron. Knowing she’s alive—especially after Kurumi’s revival—makes me glad.

”Takumi here wants to become McGaref’s ruler,” Anne said, her tone laced with amusement.

”Oh, really?” Mr. Ralph said, leaning forward. “Big ambitions, huh? Shiori, your friend’s aiming to be a king.”

”Yup, that’s right, Father,” Shiori said brightly. “Takumi’s going to rule McGaref, Seron, and Lesta. We’ve come back from about three years in the future.”

Mr. Ralph nearly fell out of his chair, caught off guard by her bluntness. Anne looked equally stunned. Yeah, I hadn’t mentioned the time-travel part yet.

”Shiori-jou,” Ms. Marina said, her voice calm but curious, “you remember too?”

”Yes, Ms. Marina,” Shiori replied, nodding. “I’m so relieved it’s not just me and Takumi.”

”What’s this all about, Marina?” Mr. Ralph asked, his brow furrowed.

”Exactly as Shiori-jou said,” Ms. Marina replied. “We carry memories from the future. And, Councilor Ralph, your foster daughter has terrifying talent. Ask her later—she holds the secret to the drug you’ve been craving.”

”Is that true, Shiori?” Mr. Ralph said, turning to her.

”Yes,” she said, pulling out a notebook. “I was writing it down right before you called me. The theory’s mostly done.”

Mr. Ralph flipped through the pages, his face flushing with excitement. He fired off questions, and Shiori answered with ease, earning nod after nod from him.

”Incredible, incredible, incredible, Shiori!” he said, laughing wildly, nothing like his usual cool demeanor. “I knew I was right about you! What is this… my life’s work, handed to me! Haha!”

It was almost Chinatsu-level energy—way out of character for him. But I got it. Shiori’s a lowkey cheat character, and she just dumped years’ worth of accumulated knowledge in one go.

”Alright, fine, I believe you,” Mr. Ralph said, still grinning. “This notebook’s all the proof I need. The sheer volume of experiments and refinement here—it’s impossible to achieve in the time since I adopted Shiori.”

”Well, damn,” Anne said, chuckling. “You’re sold already?”

”With this evidence, poking further’s a waste of time,” he said. “Takumi, the Merchant Guild Kinvale’s got your back. Well, Shiori’s trust in you is what sold me, but still.”

Mr. Ralph was in high spirits. Ms. Marina, though, was watching him with a calculating look. There was something different about her—a kind of regal air I didn’t remember. In the future, she’d been dosed with aphrodisiacs so strong they wrecked her heart, used for the guild’s “hospitality.” Coming back to this time must’ve spared her some of that damage. That’s a relief.

”Let’s get back on track,” Anne said, her voice cutting through. “Takumi here plans to assassinate your husband and Mafat.”

”Understood,” Ms. Marina said, her response immediate and unflinching.

Anne blinked. “That’s a hell of a quick answer. He’s still your husband, Marina.”

”Councilor Anne,” Ms. Marina said, her tone cool, “you understand, don’t you?”

”Hmm,” Anne said, leaning back. “Mafat too, huh? Care to share why?”

The conversation felt icy, like a blade hovering in the air. Noshisshi was another one who’d been casually assassinated, now that I think about it.

I launched into a simplified version of McGaref’s future three years from now, laying out the key points. When I mentioned Mafat’s role in opening the gates, Anne’s brow furrowed.

”Sounds like something that bastard would do,” she said. “But preemptively assassinating a councilor? That’s a bold move, Takumi. Lesta’s hard for outsiders to infiltrate, so verifying your story’s tricky.”

”Then allow me to offer proof,” Ms. Marina said, standing. “This is my loyalty to Sir Takumi~desuwa.”

Without hesitation, she threw her arms around me, her lips meeting mine in a deep, searching kiss, her tongue teasing along my teeth. I started to pull back, but the tears in her eyes stopped me. Even if she’d known her days were numbered, being cut down as a decoy must’ve left her with regrets. Those tears said it all.

”Well, well,” Anne said, chuckling. “When did Takumi turn into such a heartbreaker?”

”If needed,” Ms. Marina said, pulling back slightly, “I’d strip right here and take his c*** in my mouth. Ranka feels the same.”

Ms. Ranka, standing nearby, nodded firmly. Mori-Mori, behind her, placed a hand on her chest and bowed deeply.

”I, too, am ready to dedicate my life to Sir Takumi,” Mori-Mori said. “I want my slave collar as soon as possible.”

”Even Morina-jou…” Mr. Ralph said, giving a wry smile. “Looks like I need to rethink your reputation, Takumi.”

I was the one who wanted to grimace. Mori-Mori’s just had her first period before meeting me, so in this world, she’s legally underage. Touching her would make me an actual s** offender.

”Alright, fine,” Anne said, waving a hand. “I’m not saying I fully buy Takumi’s story, but I’ll bet on his potential. That said… I need to see a bit more resolve. Ralph, take your foster daughter and step out. You’re itching to talk to her, aren’t you?”

”Will do, Councilor Anne,” Mr. Ralph said, standing. “Let me know how it goes.”

As he and Shiori left, she flashed me a bright smile and a little wave before the door closed. Anne crossed her arms, her expression turning serious.

”Now, let’s call this a test,” she said.

”A test?” Ms. Marina asked, tilting her head.

”Ranka,” Anne said, turning to her. “You love Takumi, right?”

”Yes,” Ms. Ranka said, her voice unwavering. “My love and loyalty are absolute.”

And then Anne dropped her bombshell—a test that was, frankly, insane but not surprising for someone who treats slaves as commodities.

”Takumi,” she said, her voice cold and deliberate, “r*** Ranka right now and take her virginity. Show me the guts to violate a woman you love. Show me the loyalty of a merchant guild’s key player offering her purity without hesitation. Pass this, and I’ll trust you more.”

 ”Understood,” Ms. Ranka said instantly.

It was a ridiculous demand. But without missing a beat, Ms. Ranka began undressing, preparing to be violated in front of her sister and niece, all to prove her loyalty.

* * *

”Hey, Takkun-ya!” Kahoru’s voice broke through, brash and teasing.

”What’s up, Kahoru?” I said, turning to her.

”You’re really gonna r*** Ms. Ranka again?” she said, grinning. “What happened to your lovey-dovey spirit?”

”No way, I’m not doing that!” I said, waving my hands.

 ”Huh?” she blinked.

”Huh?” I echoed, just as confused.

”By the way,” she said, shifting gears, “is Shiori, like, a cheat character?”

”Oh, she’s mega cheat,” I said, nodding. “Chinatsu and Haruka are cheat-level with Chisame and Dora’s boosts, but Shiori and I? We’re straight-up cheat, no additives.”

”You’re just gonna say that about yourself, Takumi-chi?” she said, laughing.

Her grin was infectious, but my mind was still on the weight of Anne’s test and the path ahead.
