”Hey, Takumi-kun. Since we’re redoing the party today, exploration’s off, right?” Kurumi-chan called out just as I was about to head for a bath in the courtyard.
I’d just been released from my wild session with Hikari-chan—the beast herself—and now was the perfect time to clean up. Meanwhile, Chinatsu-chan had taken Hikari-chan away, wanting to get every juicy detail about their encounter. Seriously, why is Chinatsu-chan so interested in other girls’ sex lives? Almost all the attacking fell to Chinatsu-chan. Activating skills costs magical power, and stronger ones eat that power exponentially. The Agilaus Staff made it terrifyingly efficient, but Haruka-chan’s ritual magic was the worst in fuel economy—overuse meant serious magical debt.
By contrast, Chinatsu-chan’s “Weapon Enhancement” skill was a weak one—barely any magical power used. If ritual magic was a tank, weapon enhancement was like a moped. It gave crazy combat endurance, so mana wasn’t a problem. The physical stamina we’d burn through? Covered by stocking up on stamina potions from Shiori-chan’s Merchant Guild Kinvale shop. Setting aside the shady vibe of the guild, Haruka-chan’s main job was whittling down enemy numbers in big fights.
”Next, we gotta pick two more members.”
Two more? I wondered. So, I checked with Kanare-san—our military instructor from the government army. She said we needed at least four for mid-level runs, since one person might have to scout back in a worst-case.
”How about one being Hikari-chan?” Yoshizaki Rira-chan raised her hand. “She’s friends with Chinatsu-chan, and their compatibility is good. Plus, we need calm judgment separate from the attacker’s role.”
”True. We need someone to give clear orders,” Mido-kun agreed, and almost everyone nodded.
Normally, Haruka-chan would lead, but after their mess-ups in the labyrinth, Chinatsu-chan and Haruka-chan might not be the best choices.
”I feel like Hikari-chan would be good. My ‘intuition’ skill’s sparking,” Rira added.
Her rare intuition skill activates involuntarily, and it seemed pretty positive, so we all agreed to add Hikari-chan as the third member.
”The last one should have minimal combat ability, and skills to support or guard Hikari-chan…”
”No way. My skill isn’t supportive, and I realized yesterday I’m just a hindrance. Also, I really don’t want to be the only guy among all these girls…” Mikoshiba Isshin-kun, from the 3rd Division, made eye contact with me as he tried desperately to decline.

”If I can make a personal request, I want Takumi-kun to come with me…” Haruka-chan blurted.
”No way, Haruka. That’s just because you wanna be with him, right? If Takumi-kun isn’t here, we’ll be in trouble.”
”Ugh… guess it’s no good.”
The rest would be split: some would go to upper layers to grind, others would stay at the base for support. Funakoshi Aria-chan’s maid skills were a big loss—no one was doing laundry anymore.
”But we can’t go to the middle layer without choosing one more.”
Our last options were Endo Saki-chan from the 3rd Division or Mido Kentaro-kun, leader of the 4th Division. Mido needed to lead the upper group though.
”By elimination, it’s Endo-san, but…”
She didn’t look happy—her face twitched. It was a miracle that introverted Endo-san had made it into the labyrinth so far. She probably felt she had to help, but if she could skip the dive, she’d take that option fast.
I’d planned for Endo-san to handle report prep for the government. At first, only Shiori-chan and I could read and write, but Endo-san had gotten pretty good. Kurumi-chan took care of accounting.
”Hmm, what to do? Mikoshiba-kun, can you help again? Once we check the middle layer, I’ll call Ginga-kun and the others back to reorganize.”
”Got it. But make sure to reorganize quickly, okay? It’s so sad to spend a day surrounded by Takumi’s three girlfriends…” Mikoshiba muttered.
Yeah, I felt that. If the tables were turned, I wouldn’t like it either.
With that, we finalized roles and wrapped up the meeting.
