The Merchant Guild Katarina is one of the organizations that control McGaref’s underground society. Though they engage in ordinary and legitimate trade on the surface, their true nature is far more sinister. I showed my upper-class citizenship and flashed five hundred gold coins──the equivalent of 50 million yen──to receive VIP treatment.
After I introduced myself to Ranka, the guild shop assistant with brown skin, she checked my citizenship certificate and then brought over a catalog of slaves.

”With your budget, we can form four parties,” Ranka suggested.
She proposed combining two shield-role slaves, each costing 5 gold coins, with two male slaves skilled in combat, priced around 50 gold coins each. The skills and party roles balanced well, making the suggestion reasonable and logical. Although the sourcing methods were questionable, it was an efficient merchant guild from the buyer’s perspective. No wonder they were thriving.
”Yes, that’s a great proposal. However, I’m also interested in females,” I said.
My words seemed to delight Ranka, who nodded eagerly.
