After the unexpected encounter with the Witch of the Turning Heavens Livia, I swayed in the carriage, watching Aria’s face.
It wasn’t that I wanted anything sexual.
After speaking with Livia… my chest felt restless. It was like I’d turned mean.
”Aria, you’re hiding something, aren’t you?”

In the carriage, Aria’s temple twitched.
Meruru looked between us, puzzled.

”No.”
There it was — Aria’s “no.”
So cute. When she said it with that cool expression, the gap was adorable… but this wasn’t the time.
”Alright… ‘no’ is forbidden. Meruru, Nyx, hold her down.”
”Ah— w-wait, Takkun. Don’t pry open my heart—ahh, nngh, ahh… it’s not fair to use a Skill…!”
It was an emergency.
Pinned by Meruru, unable to move, Aria struggled as my hand quickly reached her lower half and exposed her.

The confession was almost nonsensical.

Nyx, thoughtful, cut in, but even she faltered.

According to Aria, the other Hikari-chan looked exactly the same.

The three of them talked, and realized both were the same person.
They didn’t know why there were two.
But they understood… the two had lived in different times.
”Then, while talking, their memories mixed. Both started crying as they looked at me… but the other Hikari never told me what memories she held.”
From there, Aria was sworn to secrecy.
Their serious expressions left her no choice but to agree.
”So the other Hikari-chan had the Lucky Charm Skill active…”
”Yes. Unlike before, she was fine because you held her, Takkun. What she lacked… I gave to her.”
I remembered holding Hikari-chan when I was in Beast of Lust mode.
Like a bear before hibernation — but it made sense now.
”So what were you sworn not to say, Aria?”
”If I tell you… you won’t be angry?”
”I won’t. Tell me.”
”Hikari… or rather, the other Hikari… “
At first, they learned the Skill’s drawbacks could be shared.
So the two planned to divide the burden, to help us.
But as the signs of war spread, they decided to try stopping it themselves.
So like Hikari-chan… and such a headache.
Two strong self-sacrificing spirits, together — no wonder.
”Well, Hikari-chan is support type anyway, so it should be fine. Surely she won’t suddenly stand before the enemy like a movie heroine… right? …Though, with Hikari-chan, who knows.”

”It’s been a while, Cartera.”
The Eternal Witch Cartera, who had been slaughtering through McGaref, stopped.
Seeing the one who addressed her, she broke into joy.
”Ahh… you really were incarnated… Empress… Hikari! Is your body alright?”
”Yes. Ironically, I feel even better now.”
With a smile, the first Empress of the Quvarian Empire, Kadokura Hikari, faced Cartera — the woman who had once loved the same man.

• Cartera – Eternal Witch — The First Emperor’s mistress and a resurrected sorceress of immense power. Cruel and seductive, she takes pleasure in destruction and defilement. Her loyalty to the Emperor is absolute, and she shares his desire to end the world. First appears in v9c3.
