When I woke up, the rock ceiling—shining with a soft light—was the first thing I saw.
A look at the clock showed it was already past 10:00 AM.
Yesterday was a bit too much fun, and I didn’t go to sleep until around 24:00, so I guess that means I got a full ten hours of sleep. I might have been more tired than I thought. While my body didn’t feel the drain thanks to my increased Mana Capacity¹, the mental fatigue had been building up. Taking the day off today was definitely the right choice.

Thinking about that, I went to the washroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, then bought a breakfast set and ate a sandwich. After fixing my weapons, I looked through the Shop. I found some manga for sale, so I bought a lot and started reading.
They were likely copies of things from the Animation Department’s library. Each book was 50 DP³, but for study, I bought a dungeon manga I had never read. It was really fun.
It was a manga about a school with a dungeon where students with secrets are gathered. When they level up, both boys and girls go into heat. The adult scenes were a bit plain, but the setting was so much like my own that I really enjoyed it. The hero was a mysterious type, but seeing him—the strongest with a ‘Thunder God’ job—making a harem of every girl he met was exciting. It made me want to do the same once I make my own harem.
I read more than ten books before I knew it, and it was evening when I finally called for a wall-hole partner.

I wanted to see if Japanese manga works on succubi. Since they know the language, they can probably read. Turns out they can; the ‘magical girl’ story really hit home for her. She wrapped her tail around my arm and looked at me with sad eyes, like she was saying, ‘Next page, please.’ It really hit my fatherly feelings. I felt bad when the time ended in the middle. Her wings and tail looked sad as she faded away. Next time, I will let her finish the book before we have s*x.
I bought more manga and read until I fell asleep.

”Sigh… I slept well,” I said.
The day after a full holiday. Refreshed in mind and body, I cleaned the manga on my bed and went to the shower. I laughed at myself, thinking how I spent the whole day reading manga—just like when I was a shut-in. After brushing my teeth and eating, I put on my clean guard uniform and leather armor. Fully ready, I put on my big hiking pack.
”Well, time to start earning again today,” I said to himself.
With my heart ready, I opened the door and left My Room.

In the Great Plaza, people were washing their faces at the fountain or filling water tanks. Groups were meeting with weapons and shields. Teachers were still trying to talk to the people hiding in their rooms. Their start-up DP must be almost gone. People eating three meals a day probably only have enough for the cheap weapons now. Even the careful ones have only three or four days left. If they spend the DP for weapons, it is game over. The students should know that. But people don’t move until they are cornered. That is why they are still hiding.
Ignoring the teachers and coaches, I entered the dungeon. I went into the side path with the teleportation room and opened the stone door. When I stood on the array, the numbers ‘2’ and ‘3’ appeared in my head.
”Is this… choosing the place?” I asked.
Since they were the floors I reached, I knew right away. The manga I read yesterday had this too. I picked ‘2’ in my head.
The Magic Circle glowed, and the view changed fast to a wall with many holes. This was the 2nd floor. I stepped off and back on. This time, ‘1’ and ‘3’ appeared.
”I see,” I said.
I can go back to the 1st floor or go to other floors. This is good for new people or for leveling up on the right floor. It doesn’t matter to me since I am solo. I picked ‘3’ and teleported to the 3rd floor.
