Chapter 33 Ku-chan’s Melancholy

The newly discovered Dungeon was under the rule of Arachne Queen, Kuu-chan—a name Kanata had given her at her request. Naming her felt like a drain on his magic, but in exchange, her Dungeon became his.
”Naming someone is a form of contract,” El explained over the Core’s communication. “The namer transfers a portion of their power, and the named pledges loyalty. Since Kuu-chan was the Dungeon Master, her loyalty shifted to you, transferring master privileges.”
Kanata nodded, ending the call. Core-enabled communication made Dungeon management far easier.
Negotiations with Kuu-chan were surprisingly smooth. For her, the Dungeon was merely a breeding ground, rich in magical energy—ideal for her eggs and offspring. With her as master, predators were kept at bay. She agreed to cede control if her environment remained unchanged.
For Kanata, it was a win-win: a new Dungeon with minimal effort, a dedicated breeding area for her spiders, and her minions patrolling his Dungeon. Gratitude was an understatement.
”The real issue is over here,” Kanata said, meeting Kuu-chan in the Core Room. The map showed three narrow passages leading to separate entrances. The leftmost entrance was occupied by a band of thieves—likely a raiding party.
”They haven’t reached the Main Room yet, but their presence is a nuisance,” Kuu-chan explained. “They’ve set up camp in the first chamber.”
Leaving them unchecked risked them encroaching further. Now that it was his Dungeon, he couldn’t ignore the problem.
”We’ll handle it,” Kanata assured her.
”Wait,” Kuu-chan stopped him, offering two crystal orbs. “Skill Orbs. Useful.”
These were his first Skill Orbs—transparent, palm-sized crystals. Kuu-chan mimed swallowing them. Really? He hesitated but popped one into his mouth. To his surprise, it dissolved instantly, flooding his mind with knowledge:
‘Thread Generation’—Produce threads from any part of your body. Length, thickness, strength, and properties improve with skill.
‘Thread Manipulation’—Control threads freely.
Interesting. He left Kuu-chan to manage the Dungeon and headed toward the thieves’ camp.

”What’s the plan?” Alice asked the group near the chamber. Inside, a thief leader kicked a beastgirl while others assaulted another.
”They’re hurting girls. Can’t let that slide,” he said, earning cold glares from his companions.
”Boomerang, remember?” Rena quipped.
”Right, right…” he muttered. “Alice, care for the girls. Annamira, Millie, handle the thieves.”
He focused on the leader, summoning a thread from his palm. It wrapped around the man’s neck, and with a tug—
”Evil… be… slain!” he joked.
”Umm, Master… his head’s off,” Amisa pointed out.
”What? No way—whoa, it is!” The leader’s head rolled, blood spraying.
”Threads are terrifying…” Amisa whispered.
While Annamira and Millie charged in, Alice rushed to the victims. Kanata approached the beastgirl the leader had been assaulting.
She was petite, with creamy hair tipped in pink, cat-like ears drooping in fear, and amber eyes wide with terror. Her neck bore a collar, which glowed as he touched it. She stirred, her gaze meeting his.
”Are… are we safe?” she whispered, seeing the fallen leader.
He nodded, and she relaxed, passing out from relief. She was around 15, her slender body exposed, her small breasts trembling.
”What now?” he murmured.
”Master… about her,” Amisa began hesitantly. “Misia explained—Leticia’s collar forces her to obey commands, especially humiliating ones. If she doesn’t comply, she suffers.”
”And I’m her new master?” he asked.
Amisa nodded.
Misia, Leticia’s maid, stepped forward. “Can’t the collar be removed?”
”It’s complicated,” she replied, analyzing it. “It can’t be removed for a year, and each new master extends the period. It’s designed for sexual slavery, with commands increasing its effects.”
Misia’s shoulders slumped in despair.
