Chapter 70 Mercuria Kingdom Uprising (Part ①)
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Soft warmth envelops Kanata, pulling him awake. “Mmph… morning…” he mumbles.
The girl notices he’s up and murmurs a greeting, her voice muffled.
”Morning,” Kanata says, blinking. “What’re you doing?”
Faris pulls back, gazing up with glistening eyes. “Just serving you, Master… a morning greeting.”
Memories of last night flood back.
I really crossed a line with her, Kanata thinks. Not that I forced it—she practically pounced on me. Her succubus-like energy drained him until he passed out.
”Seriously?” Kanata sighs, half-exasperated, though his tone lacks rejection.
”To make sure my Master starts the day happy…” Faris says, leaning closer.
Kanata stops her with a hand. “Enough.” He sits up, grabs her shoulders, and gently pushes her down.
”Master… so early in the morning?” Faris protests softly, but a smile plays on her lips.
”Don’t like it?” Kanata teases, smirking. Faris blushes but can’t look away.
”N-no… I mean…” Her resistance is weak, almost playful.
She’s not this shy, Kanata thinks. But this doesn’t feel like an act.
”No problem then,” he says, lifting the hem of her clothes. Her skin is bare, just like last night. Faris shrinks back but doesn’t truly resist.
”No…” she whispers, her voice tickling his ears. Kanata leans into her, letting his weight settle.
”Come on, ask for it,” he says, teasingly cruel.
”W-what…” Faris’s cheeks flush deeper, but her eyes glimmer with anticipation.
”More… please, Master…” she says, her voice trembling.
Kanata grins, satisfied. “Good girl.” His hands slide to her waist, drawing her closer.
”Ah!” Faris gasps as morning light fills the room, their shadows merging.
”Master…” Her voice is sweet, her body arching with his movements. She’s warm, clinging to him like last night.
”Good girl,” Kanata murmurs. Her body tenses, then shudders.
”No…” she moans as his fingers find her sensitive spot, already warm and ready. Last night’s lingering, or this morning’s games? Either way, she’s more than willing.
”Here’s what you like, right?” Kanata teases, pressing deeper. Faris lifts her hips, unable to resist.
”No… Master… stop…” she says, but her tone sounds more like a plea for more. Her body betrays her, tightening around him.
”Don’t lie,” Kanata says, moving his fingers. “You’re holding on tight.”
He explores her reactions, intensifying his touch. “No… there… please…” Faris’s voice rises, her hips trembling.
”Louder,” Kanata says. “Say you want it.”
Faris bites her lip, trying to hold back, but her body responds. “Please…” she whispers.
”Say it,” Kanata growls. “Ask me to make you feel it.”
Her breathing quickens as he targets her most sensitive spot. “No… I can’t…” she gasps, close to the edge.
”Say it, or I don’t stop,” Kanata says, his movements relentless.
Tears well in Faris’s eyes as she looks up. “Please… make me… Master, please…”
Kanata smirks. “That’s it.” His fingers move faster, deeper, pushing her limits.
”Ah!” Faris arches, her body shaking, tightening around him as she reaches her peak.
But Kanata’s not done. He lifts her hips, pressing himself into her still-trembling warmth.
A few minutes later, Faris stands, fixing her clothes as if nothing happened.
”Breakfast’s ready, Master. Hurry up.”
Kanata blinks, stunned, as she adjusts his clothes too. What? No sweet talk, no lingering? he thinks.
There’s supposed to be… you know, a moment after! Faris walks out, oblivious to his frustration. She’s just a machine, huh? Doesn’t get human feelings. But deep down, he knows Faris might be playing him.
Grumbling, Kanata heads to the dining hall. Maya, with El perched on her head, plus Setsugekka’s three girls and Shizuka, greet him.
”You’re late,” El says, clearly annoyed.
”Uh, bad dreams,” Kanata lies, dodging her glare. After his “runaway” stunt, the girls were furious for weeks. They’re only now starting to act normal, and he can’t risk upsetting them again.
”Anyway,” Kanata says, changing the subject, “what’s up with Mercuria’s survivors?”
A group of Mercuria Kingdom’s defeated royals and soldiers, fleeing a coup, reached the northeast of Aran Fortress some time ago. Initially, Kanata held back to avoid provoking Aran Fortress or Alfheim Kingdom.
But now, allied with Tsubasa, who controls the fortress, he can safely bring them in. Alusia and a few Heroes from the fortress should be fetching them, but…
”There’s something we need to discuss,” a voice says.
Kanata turns.
”Tsubasa? When’d you get here?”
”I’ve been here!” Tsubasa snaps. “You only notice the girls, huh?”
”Obviously,” Kanata says with a grin. Why waste attention on a guy? Though Tsubasa’s not exactly rugged, and could pass for a girl… He’s set to become one later, but right now, still a guy.
”If only you were ‘Tsubasa-chan,’ I’d have noticed you right away,” Kanata says with a grin.
”No way!” Tsubasa yells, sounding panicked. “I’m never turning into a girl around you!”
Apparently, Tsubasa’s still traumatized from their first time transforming into a girl. Thanks to a potion Haruka tweaked, Tsubasa can now switch genders freely, but they stubbornly stay male around Kanata.
Honestly, I don’t care either way, Kanata thinks. But ‘Tsubasa-chan’ would be easier on the eyes. He’d made that comment once, earning a night-long lecture from Maya and the others, so he’s kept quiet about it since.
”Anyway,” Kanata says, steering the conversation back, “what’s this about?”
Tsubasa’s expression shifts to business.
”Yeah, about Mercuria Kingdom. They sent complaints.”
”Complaints?” Kanata says. “I can guess, but what’d they say?”
”Basically,” Tsubasa says, “hand over the survivors, Alusia, and the Dungeon’s rights. Or they’ll attack.”
Kanata bursts out laughing. “Seriously?”
”Dead serious!” Tsubasa says, barely holding back a grin.
The Dungeon’s a rumor Kanata and Tsubasa spread on purpose: “Double Wing’s confidence comes from a Dungeon they found in Aaren Plain, packed with resources and treasure.” It’s a complete bluff, a trap they set. They built a fake entrance near Aran Fortress, complete with dramatic guards.
Some fools, believing the rumor, sneak past and enter, never to return. That’s boosted the rumor’s credibility, and it must’ve reached Mercuria’s coup faction. Didn’t think they’d actually fall for it, Kanata thinks.
”Ha… okay, what else?” Kanata says, catching his breath.
”Well,” Tsubasa hesitates, “my team’s… worked up about it.”
”What, they want to negotiate?” Kanata says. “Alusia’s off-limits, but we could consider handing over the survivors.”
The whole thing started for Kanata’s own reasons, not the Heroes’. He figured some might not want trouble with a neighboring kingdom.
”No, the opposite!” Tsubasa says. “They’re like, ‘No way we’re listening to that nonsense!’ They’re ready to storm Mercuria, and I’m struggling to hold them back. Kanata, do something!”
Tsubasa’s voice is half-pleading, half-desperate.
”I’ve got no intention of listening to them,” Kanata says. “But why’s everyone so fired up?”
”Well…” Tsubasa says awkwardly. “Alusia’s pretty charming, right?”
”Dunno about charming,” Kanata says, “but she’s capable.” Way more useful than that shut-in catgirl, Leticia, he thinks. Though Leticia’s got her own cute charm, I guess.
”Forget your tastes for a sec,” Tsubasa says. “Tsukamoto and Kudo are the issue.”
”What, they’re into Alusia?” Kanata says. “If she’s okay with it…”
”No, not Alusia!” Tsubasa says. “They know she’s… yours. They’ve already given up on her.”
Tsubasa explains: Tsukamoto fell for Mel, the first princess among the survivors, and Kudo’s smitten with Camil, her aide. Morita, with his overblown sense of justice, feels bad for the survivors’ situation.
Alusia, picking up on the mood, played up their plight, stirring everyone up. Now Aran Fortress is buzzing with “Down with Melmarc!” and “Restore the rightful royals!” It’s like a war’s about to break out—or at least, they’re itching to attack.
”Alusia’s getting a bit carried away,” Maya mutters, breaking her silence.
”Definitely deserves a punishment,” El says from atop Maya’s head.
”Hold off on that,” Kanata says. “We need to figure out what to do now.”
”You’ve got a plan, right?” El asks, eyeing him.
”Yup,” Kanata says, smirking. “Might as well use this situation.” He lays out his new idea to the group.
