Chapter 118-2

The outfit was nothing short of a maid’s uniform, carefully designed to minimize exposure against the chilly temperatures of this time of year.
Naturally, it was something I had created using “Imitation,” but since it looked pretty standard, I’d just passed it off as a prototype from “Hooters.”
Given all this, I figured it made sense that having just the two of us──2 people in a suspiciously intimate situation──might raise a few eyebrows. Just as I was pondering this, the soldier spoke up in a tone that seemed almost like a gentle warning.
”──If you’re planning to elope, it’s better to keep that as a last resort.”
”Eh?”
It seemed the source of his suspicion stemmed from the nature of my relationship with Seria. The way she sat next to me on the driver’s seat, so close, likely gave him pause.
”Fufufu♪”
As if teasing the matter further, Seria smiled and leaned her head against my shoulder. But just as that sweetness enveloped me, something invisible swooped in and captured my lips.
”Mmph!”
That sneaky act was courtesy of the invisible Iris, who had twisted her body to execute the move right on my lap.
The area around my mouth was left open for breathing, so I couldn’t see her, but each sensation was crystal clear.
Ugh, but I wished she wouldn’t do something so risky; with my cloak swaying awkwardly, revealing her presence was a real possibility.
Thus, I quickly used my Magic Armor to shift Iris back into a safer position. I wiped my slightly damp lips and resumed chatting with the soldier.

A short while later…
We underwent a light check of our belongings, and finally, we were allowed entry into the capital, Gavretta.
I had been a bit on edge about possible rigorous checks due to Iris leaving this town, but it seemed that nobody really suspected she was hiding among just standard supplies like food.
As a result, while the misunderstanding with Seria remained unresolved, we managed to slip through the checkpoint without too much trouble.
”Alright then, shall we head to the merchant guild first?”
”Yeah. I should avoid being seen entering my home from the outside.”
Iris, still invisible, replied softly to my suggestion.
Just as we had planned, we aimed to enlist the merchant guild’s help as we entered the town, though I gathered that only a select few there knew about Iris’s situation.
It’d be super weird for me, a total stranger, to just waltz in and ask for the person I needed to see.
So, I had Iris whip up a letter for me, playing it off like it was from “Hooters” and basically trying to sell myself.
She was going to deliver it to the merchant guild’s chairman.
The chairman already knew about Iris, and sending a letter from another merchant guild, rather than to some random member, wouldn’t raise any eyebrows.
Ideally, the letter would be delivered right away.
If not, we’d just chill at some inn and wait.
The problem here? Seria.
The chairman was helping Iris, so he knew about her sister.
That meant he might assume we knew everything too, and if he started talking about Iris’s cursed sister in front of Seria, who wanted to keep that a secret, things would get messy.
Seria would figure out that Iris and I were after the same thing, and she might not be happy that my Mom’s business got pushed back.
I doubt he’d blab about Iris’s sister, and I could just tell him to keep his mouth shut.
But to be absolutely sure, it’d be better if Seria didn’t know about this at all.
So, Seria couldn’t be around when Iris and the chairman met.
We’d have her “investigate” “Hooters” – that would be her excuse for staying away.

We headed to the “A Mira’s Merchant Guild.” It was in the boonies, but it was still pretty big, since they dealt with the lord’s mansion.
First, I went inside alone, telling the girls to wait with the carriage.
The spacious shop was well-organized, with everything neatly arranged by type.
The women working the counter wore uniforms with a little… emphasis on the chest area.
It wasn’t like they were *showing* anything off, it was just the design.
The skirts were held up by straps over the shoulders, so that’s all it was.
I’d never seen it for real, but it reminded me of some old family restaurant that was popular in my past life.
Though, unlike that place, the skirts weren’t mini.
”Welcome!”
The store clerk who approached me, noticing my gaze, was a petite woman with a rather impressive chest, accentuated by her uniform’s design.
Her overall look reminded me of Ms. Monoka.
Her bright, shoulder-length brown hair had a playful bounce to it, framing her cute face. She seemed well aware of her charm and used it to her advantage, leaning forward slightly and pushing her breasts together with her arms as she caught me looking.
Squish…
She struck a pose, her body language practically screaming “easy customer,” and flashed me a charming smile as she tried to make a sale.
”Hehe, are you looking for something? These aren’t for sale, but if we can make a deal, I might be able to offer you a little something extra.”
Squish, squish.
She spoke while jiggling her chest up and down.
I couldn’t deny that I was an easy mark, given my obvious interest, but did I really look like I had money to spend?
Well, regardless.
I had a mission to accomplish, so I took out the sealed letter written by Iris and slipped it into the valley between her breasts.
”I’m from the merchant guild Hooters. Could you please deliver this to your president?”
