Chapter 20
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”I’m not a veteran or anything, but… you were amazing, no flattery intended.”
Under the faint light of a single candle, Linna, with her pale skin looking even paler, gave me her assessment.
It was a ‘real battle’, just like the one with Lunamaria, and Linna seemed to have enjoyed the techniques I used with my Magic Armor.
Even though the overall ‘size’ didn’t change, I kept changing the shape inside and made various movements to attack, which seemed to satisfy her, who’s also a pros***ute… so, I guess I won’t be leaving any ‘disappointing’ results in other battles either.
”That was good.”
”But I did raise my voice pretty loudly, and someone might come to complain.”
We were in a section of the inn where employees lived.
Yeah, she had raised her voice pretty loudly, and normally, the neighbors would have heard it, but it’s unlikely that anyone outside heard it this time.
That’s because… I used my Magic Armor to create a double-layered wall, including the floor, and made the inside a soundproof room.
After using it for 10 years, I’ve gotten used to it, and as long as I don’t take any damage, the magic consumption isn’t that heavy, and I had some spare magic left, so I could do it.
In reality, about 4 times the time it takes to satisfy her has passed, but no one has come to complain.
Maybe they didn’t notice because of the soundproofing? But I had set up a thin Magic Armor plate under the door, outside the entrance, so if someone came, they would step on it, and I would feel it.
Since no one came, it’s almost certain that no one had any complaints, so I don’t need to worry about it… but since Magic Armor is a secret, I’ll just brush it off with a casual excuse.
”Well, since no one’s coming, I guess it wasn’t that loud, right?”
”Yeah, maybe. Well, as long as it doesn’t become a hassle, it’s better that way… and it felt good too~♡.”
Linna seemed satisfied with me, who had stopped using honorific language and was being casual, but I had one thing to confirm.
”Hey, why did you let me stay over and even ‘served’ me?”
There was also the matter of Frederica in the dismantling area, and I couldn’t help but suspect there was some kind of ulterior motive… but when I asked Linna, she replied like this.
”Huh? Um… I guess it’s because you’re neat and tidy, and you looked pretty good, and when I talked to you, you seemed like a good person and made good money too?”
”So, in other words… you thought I’d be a good customer?”
”Yeah. Well, if you’re willing to pay, that’s fine too, but you’ll keep working until you save up enough money.”
”Ah, yeah.”
It didn’t seem like there was any hidden agenda or deep motive behind it.
For me, who didn’t plan on getting into a romantic relationship anytime soon, it was convenient.
However, there was one thing that bothered me about the job.
”That’s right, this shop buys its ’employees’, right? There was no indication of that on the shop’s signboard.”
”Ah, this isn’t a brōtḥel, so it’s not like that. Being able to buy employees is more like an added bonus. Well… there are customers who come here with that in mind too.”
”Is a brōtḥel handled differently?”
”Yeah. The taxes are different, and over there, they’re specialized in that kind of thing, so you can buy them anytime, day or night. Of course, there are fewer sales during the day.”
”Because there are fewer customers?”
”The customers I’m targeting are adventurers, after all. Though, adventurers who have some leeway take breaks in moderation, so they’re somewhat prepared. But shops like ours don’t do ‘morning services’, so we have to make do with few customers and charge high prices.”
”Are brōtḥels cheaper, then?”
”That’s because it’s about the shop, or rather, the pr**titutes themselves. There are some really expensive ones, and some are as cheap as those in the outer town.”
”I see. So, how much does Linna usually cost?”
”I’m 8,000 and up. It’s a price that new adventurers can barely afford, but if they’re reckless, they might take the risk and cross the dangerous bridge.”
It seems that’s why she’s so popular.
If that’s the case, she should’ve been able to get customers normally today, but instead, she got a chance to earn money from me and blew it… what a shame.
”I see. Since I earned money today, I can withdraw it from the Guild tomorrow and pay up…”
When I said that, she shook her head,
”That’s okay, I was the one who invited you, and I said I’d serve you, so I got to have fun too! Ah, I’ll give you a ‘morning service’ later~♡.”
She said that and kissed my cheek, and that became the signal for our break.
Slurp, slurp… mwah.
I was a bit restless because of the extra service, but before I knew it, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, my crotch was filled with pleasure.
Linna’s face was next to my crotch, and I realized I was in her mouth.
The fact that the candle had a flame meant… did she bring fire from outside? She’s even wearing clothes.
When I woke up, Linna noticed and removed her face and mouth from me, then greeted me good morning.
”Puha… woke up? Good morning~♪.”
”Good morning. Is this a ‘service’?”
”Yeah. I just can’t take it easy, I have work at the store too. Can I get away with this?”
”You’re not getting any extra tips, okay?”
”Hehe, you’re really a good guy. If you get surrounded, I’ll surround you too.”
”Well, I’ll just say I’ll try my best.”
”Then, should I try my best too? At least, let’s make sure we have the next opportunity… hamu.”
And so, Linna, who was in a hurry to get to work, shook her head rapidly and spent some time in her room before heading to the store to eat breakfast.
* * *
”Did you stay overnight at Linna’s place? How was it?”
As I sat down in the same seat as last night, the waitress, who was holding the breakfast menu, said something like “Did you decide on the menu already?”
It was Ms. Tirica, who had given me some service yesterday.
Compared to yesterday, her chest wasn’t bouncing as much, probably because she wasn’t trying to seduce me and was wearing her underwear tightly.
As proof, not just her, but everyone was wearing a red scarf.
However… even though she was speaking in a low voice so the other customers wouldn’t hear, her expression was quite direct.
She had already gone to the customer’s room earlier, so how did she know I stayed overnight at Linna’s place?
”Uh, why did you…?”
When I asked, it seemed she had met Linna in the morning and heard all about it.
Apparently, she had sensed ‘something’ from Linna’s attitude.
It seemed someone had told her that Linna didn’t have any customers last night, but her attitude was… and she had noticed.
I wondered how much she had heard, but… I decided to respond to her naturally.
”I had a really good time.”
”Hmm… so, how about me tonight? I’ll make sure to get the money, don’t worry about it~♪.”
”Are you hitting on me while wearing that scarf?”
”It’s okay, I’m wearing it to avoid getting hit on by customers.”
”Ah, I see. But today, I’ve got a lot of prep work to do and no plans to make extra money…”
”No spare change, huh. Well, I guess that’s what happens when you’re new. You need money for all sorts of things, like equipment maintenance…”
”Yeah, that’s true. And soon we’ll have to prepare for winter, and taxes are coming up too…”
”Yeah… so, what about lodging?”
”Lodging?”
It seemed like our conversation had turned to living arrangements.
”Yeah, if you want to secure a room, it’s better to do it as early as possible, you know?”
”Does this place get booked up every day?”
”Mostly, yeah. The food here is pretty good, and the amenities are top-notch too…”
Ms. Tirica said, puffing out her chest and swaying her body.
”I guess so.”
She took a step closer to me, her eyes gleaming.
”Ah, are you interested?”
”It’s not like I don’t have any interest… but the room is 3500 yen per night with breakfast, right?”
”Yeah… I wouldn’t say it out loud, but…”
She glanced around, then leaned in close to my ear and whispered.
”If there’s a girl who’s willing to do it, she might even give you a free room with no extra charge.”
”What? If that’s the case, wouldn’t the room always be booked up?”
”It might be booked up, but that doesn’t mean it’s ‘always’ sold out, you know?”
I see, so even if the room is booked up, the staff might still have trouble making sales.
But…
”I might take a room, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna buy it, right?”
”I know that. Well, whether I can get that ‘excited’ feeling or not depends on your skills… so what do you do?”
Saying that, she moved her hands up and down, holding onto something… I booked today’s accommodation.
No, this is just to make it easier to turn down other customer attractor. Yeah.
