Chapter 122 Karin and Gisela
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”I’m Gisela. I’m a D-rank swordsman. And this is my friend, Karin. She’s an E-rank magician. We moved to Razia Village about a week ago.”
After tying up a man to a tree, they talk at their campsite. They sit around a campfire, and the two female adventurers stand up and bow their heads. Gisela, the swordswoman, has straight, shoulder-length pink hair and sharp red eyes.
She wears metal armor that covers her chest and stomach, with metal parts on her shoulders, arms, waist, and legs. Her weapon is a slim longsword, making her look like a light-armored knight.
Karin, the magician, has long, dark blue hair and big blue eyes, but she seems a bit shy. She wears a white robe and has leather armor on her chest, waist, arms, and legs.
”I’m Liz, the leader of this party. I’m a B-rank archer. Since you moved here, you’re now part of Razia Village, right? Are you both married to good men?”
”No, we know about Razia Village’s policies, but we didn’t use that system. We just moved here normally.”
Gisela sits down, and Karin snuggles up next to her.
”I’m Martina. I’m a B-rank thief.”
”I’m Dorothy. I’m also a B-rank. I don’t have a registered job, but I’m good at martial arts, archery, and magic.”
”I’m Aluda. I’m a D-rank fighter, but my main job is a blacksmith.”
”I’m Hiroya. I’m a B-rank swordsman. By the way, were you in the middle of a quest?”
When I call out to Karin, who is preparing tea, she jumps a little and turns to me nervously.
”Um, I was hunting wild boars…”
She seems shy. Just making eye contact makes her look down, embarrassed.
”I hunted 3, so I was planning to deliver them tomorrow.”
Gisela points to a small cart pulled by a horse. It seems the boars are loaded there.
”That’s perfect. If you could take that man along with the wild boars, it would help us out. We want to report the damage to the guild. We’re on our way to a guard request.”
”Of course. It’s our responsibility since we were the ones affected. You just got caught up in it.”
Gisela agrees happily.
”Thanks. If you mention our names as witnesses, I’ll give my testimony when we get back.”
”Yeah, thank you.”
Gisela bows politely at me.

”I was surprised by your sword skills earlier. What kind of sword technique is that?”
Gisela sits next to me. Liz and Dorothy are questioning the man tied to the tree, while Martina and Aluda seem to be asking Karin various questions. Karin, with her red face looking flustered, looks kind of cute from a distance.
”That’s my own sword technique, based on Eastern swordsmanship.”
”Your own… You’ve worked hard for someone so young. I was amazed by the speed and sharpness of your draw and strike. So, it’s from the East…”
Gisela crosses her arms and rests her chin on her hand, thinking. “Speaking of Eastern swordsmanship, I remember there were some swordsman in the knight order…” she mutters.
”Mr. Hiroya, I’d like to spar with you sometime. I want to see how good I am, so whenever you have time, please teach me.”
Gisela looks at me seriously.
”Well, I’m still learning too…”
I try to decline, but Gisela’s expression turns sad in an instant.
”Okay, let’s try sparring at least once.”
Yeah. I can’t resist a beautiful girl looking sad.
”Ah, thank you! I really appreciate it!”
Gisela’s face lights up with joy.
”I’m confident in my speed. I’ve been trying to find different sword techniques to make the most of it.”
Watching Gisela happily gaze at the campfire, I start to think that having a second student might be nice. Well, my first student isn’t really a sword student, though.

”I’ll keep watch over the men while Karin and the others sleep.”
”That’s right. We should keep an eye on that man, and we can’t be sure there aren’t other bandit raiders out there.”
”Aluda should go back and sleep…”
””Aluda, come here!””
Martina and Dorothy took Aluda by the arm.
”So, Big Brother Hiroya and Big Sister Liz should go back to bed!”
Oh, is that the ‘Liz’s turn tonight’ thing?
”That’s a big help. Because it was our first request received at Razia Village, Karin and I were a bit excited and couldn’t sleep…”
Gisela bowed her head.
”We’ve caused you so much trouble with everything. I’m really sorry.”
”It’s fine, don’t worry about it. It’s what adventurers do, help each other out, right?”
Liz winked at Gisela.
”Well, then, Hiroya, let’s go back.”
”Yeah, there are still four hours until dawn, and Martina and the others should take turns and get some sleep too.”
I and Liz headed towards the treehouse.
