Chapter 126 Reunion at Borg

The next day, the journey went smoothly without any problems, and we arrived in the town of Borg before noon.
”Ms. Sasha’s group is expected to arrive in the evening. For now, let’s find a place to stay and grab some food.”
Liz waved lightly as she passed by the entrance of the town, where the guards were stationed.
”Hey… isn’t that Ms. Liz?”
”That boy with the katana is with her, so it must be her.”
”Is that the party that took down 4 high-level demons?”
”I heard there was a girl with them, but this time there’s a really pretty elf with her.”
”Is that dwarf a new face? Dwarves are great… so chubby!”
”That thief lady is still super s*xy.”
After the last incident, Liz was really popular with the guards who knew what happened. Plus, besides me, she was surrounded by beautiful people.
A young guard ran up to Liz, who was leading the horse.
”Have you already booked a place to stay?”
”Nope, not yet…”
Liz replied casually at the young guard.
”I want to recommend the best inn in Borg! Can I show you the way?”
”Does it have a bath?”
”I think the best rooms have baths!”
”Okay then… let’s go check it out.”
Liz winked back at him.
”That guy… he finished his shift at just the right time…”
”He’s trying to steal a march on us…”
I could hear the other guards grumbling from all around, and I couldn’t help but smile.
”…Liz, you’re really popular.”
As I followed the young guard, I leaned in to whisper to Liz.
”What’s up? Are you jealous?”
”Well, it’s just that Liz seems like she could fall for any guy.”
Her smug smile annoyed me a bit, so I shot back at her.
Immediately, Liz puffed up her cheeks and sulked.
”I said I was only for Hiroya… If I have to be with another guy, I’d rather bite my tongue and die.”
”You don’t need to die. If that happens, I’ll take care of it and save you.”
Liz, still sulking, suddenly smiled brightly.
”Promise me!”
How cute my girlfriend is…
”Big Sister Liz, you and Big Brother Hiroya are too lovey-dovey!”
”Seriously! I want to be lovey-dovey with Mr. Hiroya too!”
Martina and Dorothy squeezed in on both sides of me and Liz.
”Sorry! I didn’t mean to be lovey-dovey…”
I bowed my head to them. Even sulking Martina and Dorothy were too cute…
”…What is this feeling of being left out?”
Aluda murmured sadly from behind.

”This way, please.”
The young guard led us to a pretty big inn in Borg.
”This looks like a nice place. Thanks!”
Liz waved goodbye to the guard.
”Um! If it’s okay, would you like to have dinner tonight?”
The guard, blushing bright red, called out to Liz loudly.
”Ah… sorry. I’m actually with this guy.”
Saying that, Liz hugged my head.
”Mr. Hiroya… is it? I guess I have to give up then…”
Oh no. He looks really down. It’s almost painful to see.
”We 3 are Mr. Hiroya’s girls.”
”Really? Oh, AluAlu, how about you treat him to dinner?”
Aluda looked surprised when Martina suddenly called her. The young guard looked at Aluda with hopeful eyes.
”No way! Aluda likes Hiro too!”
Saying that, Aluda clung to me.
”Wait, what?”
Is this a shocking confession happening here?
The young guard, looking defeated, sighed and walked away.
”Sorry about that. Did you really not want to go eat with that guard?”
”No! Aluda really likes Hiro!”
Aluda interrupted me with her words.
”Well, let’s just go inside the inn for now.”
”Yeah! This isn’t the right place for confessions.”
”AluAlu… looks like you’re still my rival…”
I left the horse with the employee at the shop, and we went into the inn, dragging Aluda along.

”How about we go eat first? We can talk more later… maybe tonight.”
While sipping the tea that the staff prepared in our nice room, Liz talked to Aluda.
”Aluda… I’m serious. This isn’t a joke or anything…”

I tried to calm Aluda down too.

”Alright, let’s go eat!”
Liz took Aluda’s hand.
”I’d like to drink some liquor at a tavern, but… I need to see Ms. Sasha first.”
”…And you might mess up with alcohol again.”
”Big Sister Liz, you might get taken away by a weird guy when you’re drunk.”
”Ugh… That’s why I thought we should eat at the inn’s first floor…”

After finishing lunch at the inn, we decided to take the not-so-cheerful Aluda out for a walk.
”I think we can stroll around town a bit before heading to where Ms. Sasha is staying.”

Liz and Martina were happily chatting as they walked ahead.
”Aluda… I’ll listen to you properly tonight, and I’ll think about my answer too. So cheer up.”
Aluda was walking slowly behind me and Dorothy as I talk to her.
”Mr. Hiroya, I’m counting on you, okay?”
Dorothy winked and went ahead to join the other 2.
”Okay. Then, come on, let’s walk together.”
I took Aluda’s hand and started walking.
”Ah…”
”I don’t want to see a sad Aluda.”
”…Okay.”
Aluda blushed and smiled a little.
”I’ll buy you something you want. Even if Liz is holding the wallet.”
”Hehe, okay. What should I get?”
”──Don’t waste money or Kazumi will get mad! …Well, a little bit is fine.”
Liz turned around and smiled widely.
”Hiroya, I want something sweet!”
”Sounds good. I want some too.”
Oh, Martina and Dorothy’s eyes looked like predators…
”I expect something good in the capital… It might not be flashy, but something simple should be nice…”
I looked around for shops as we walked.
”Oh! Over there! There’s a tea shop!”
Aluda pointed to a tea shop nearby.
”Alright, let’s take a break there.”
Since Liz, Martina, and Dorothy headed to the shop, I followed along, holding Aluda’s hand.

”…Even after lunch, you girls can still eat so much…”

In the middle of the table was a basket piled high with cookies. There were chocolate, butter, nuts, and more. The 4 of them were munching on them one after another.
”Nothing, really.”
I sipped my tea while biting into a chocolate cookie. It was delicious, but…
”Yeah, cake is nice, but cookies go better with tea.”
”Yes. It’s very tasty.”
”Oh! Liz! Aluda hasn’t eaten the nut cookie yet! That’s the last one!”
”Huh? First come, first served!”
A battle was starting. They were fighting over the cookies.
”Come on, Hiro, eat some too.”

The girls’ extra stomach for dessert is terrifying.

”Oh? Ms. Liz and Hiroya? Ms. Martina too…”
A woman who seemed to have just entered the shop called out to us.
The girls, with cookies in their mouths, turned to look at the entrance.

Ms. Sasha took a big bite of her cookie, looking very happy.

”I see, Ms. Kazumi and Ms. Rena are staying behind this time.”
”They’re busy moving right now. So, this is our new party member, Dorothy.”
”Nice to meet you. I’m looking forward to working with you, Ms. Sasha.”
Dorothy stood up and greeted gracefully as Liz introduced her.
”Nice to meet you too, Ms. Dorothy. I often meet elves for business, but… you are very beautiful.”
Dorothy blushed a little and looked at me after Ms. Sasha’s compliment. Yeah, she is beautiful.
”I’m Aluda! We’ve met a few times in the royal city.”
Aluda said this while handing over a ‘Meishi (business card).’
”Oh! You’re Mr. Toldo’s grandchild! Are you working as a blacksmith in Razia Village now?”
Ms. Sasha took the ‘Meishi’ and looked at it carefully.

Liz took a sip of her tea.
”I could only find adventurer parties heading to the fortress city of Mundo for the escort from the royal city… but they were cheaper.”
Ms. Sasha said this with a small smile.
”So, I thought I’d ask you all to escort the rest of the journey from Razia Village. Plus, we have a lot of cargo this time… so I wanted to choose reliable Ms. Liz and her team.”
