(Hiroya’s POV)
”Uh, um, we’re okay with that… right, we agree, Gièze.”
”Yeah, we can take on requests that we couldn’t before. We have no complaints about the conditions, Karina.”
”We’re totally fine with it. Right? Noriss?”
”Yeah! It’s great because we can complete requests quickly and handle a lot of them!”
Around noon, Dorothy and the others came back after completing their request, so I explained the clan’s “weekly pay system” to Sister Karina, Gièze, Lotta, Noriss, and Kazumi, and everyone gave their thumbs up.
”I have no problem with it too. If anything, I’d be fine with just being taken off the evaluation and getting the basic amount.”
”I’m good with the same as Asuka. Honestly, I’ve been relying on Master and the big sis all the time.”
Asuka and Gorge made those offers, but Kazumi shook her head.
”That’s not how it works. We’ll give you a proper evaluation based on your work. And that goes for Aluda too. You’re just going to say something like, ‘We have costs for maintaining weapons and armor as blacksmiths,’ aren’t you?”
”W-Wow, you saw right through Aluda and the others!”
”Eluda and the others are already good enough just being able to have a ‘dedicated blacksmith contract’ with the clan.”
”Exactly. Meluda and the others join adventures as part of their ‘dedicated blacksmith’ service.”
”No way! You’re getting paid properly as clan members!”
Kazumi pointed firmly at Aluda and the others.
”We’ll work hard to make sure our income exceeds what we had before. Otherwise, there’s no point in forming the clan.”
Kazumi clenched her fist with determination.
”For now, we’re planning to dive into an ‘S-rank dungeon’ for treasure. I think the income from that will be pretty significant.”
Kazumi added to the explanation.
”About that ‘dungeon’──.”
Dorothy stood up, exchanged glances with Sister Karina, Gièze, Asuka, and Meluda, and continued speaking.
”──I haven’t reported to the guild yet, but remember the Hobgoblin’s lair where Ms. Hanna and the others were captured?”
”Yeah… it was by that giant tree hollow, right?”
The faces of the women who were turned into breeding stock and couldn’t be saved flash through my mind.
”It seems that place has become a Goblin nest again… and we wiped out all the Goblins that were living there.”
”23 in total… all defeated.”
Asuka reports this casually.
”Then… we found a huge horizontal tunnel. It might be… a new dungeon.”
”After we exterminated the Goblins, when Karina leaned against the wall, it collapsed…”
Gièze adds to Dorothy’s report. Sister Karina nods repeatedly next to her.
”Judging by the size of that tunnel… it could possibly be a ‘Great Labyrinth’ class that extends beneath the capital of the Welnia Empire… but that’s just a guess.”
Asuka, who is from the Empire, crosses her arms and closes her eyes.
”A Great Labyrinth… is it really that big?”
”Yeah, it’s been explored down to about the 15th floor, but there are still unexplored floors below.”
”I heard each floor is super wide.”
”…bigger than the capital Welnia.”
Asuka and Liz’s conversation answers my questions, and everything they say is on a massive scale. Is there really a dungeon that big…?
”The tunnel continues east. Below the village, or maybe the Raetia Mountains…”
”Dorothy, sorry to bother you when you’re tired, but could you report to the guild? ──Rena, contact the lord right away using ‘Telepathy.’ We need to prepare for our journey. We’re taking the lead on this new dungeon.”
”Got it.”
”I’m going with Dorothy.”
Of course, our first mission is the S-rank dungeon, but… a new dungeon… it feels super exciting.

I called out to Dorothy, who looked tired, while bringing Haya and Kuri from the back stable.

Rena and I stopped with our beloved horses and pressed our lips together.

After a light kiss, Dorothy held my face with both hands and moved into a passionate kiss.
”Puuha♡ this will be enough until night♡”

We got on our horses and headed towards the guild.

”A new dungeon?!”
Receiving a ‘Telepathy’ message from Rena, I hurried to the guild.
By the time I arrived, Dorothy and Hiroya, who were among the first to discover it, were already at the guild.
”Lord! They say there’s a new dungeon!”
”Guild master… you’re so loud.”
I warned the excited guild master who was talking in the back room.
”So, Dorothy. Can you tell me what happened when you discovered it?”

They found a side entrance in a small underground dungeon that had become the “Goblin’s Den” in Goblin Forest. It led to a huge cave that continued to the east.
”That must be the Raetia Mountains. Back in the adventurer days, Milia said she could ‘feel the miasma swirling’ there… but we didn’t find anything.”
I guessed that the floors were spreading ‘stair-like’ from the Goblin Forest. If the floors near the Raetia Mountains are quite deep, then it makes sense that nothing was found.
”Hiroya. You guys were in charge of the S-class dungeon and Azradelius, but the party that discovered the new dungeon has the right to be the first to enter. ──What will you do?”
”Of course, we’re going. We need to check the monster ranks in the shallow floors.”
Hiroya nodded. He has grown strong like me. I can tell he’s trained hard, looking more like a seasoned adventurer than a 9-year-old.

That was definitely something Van got me into.

The guild master pretends not to hear, turning away with a smile. Well, only Hiroya and Dorothy know the details here.
”My lord, if it really is a massive dungeon on the level of the Great Labyrinth in the capital, Welnia… with the size of this guild, we won’t be able to handle the flood of adventurers coming our way.”
”We’re currently building the village hall. We could move the guild there and turn this place into the hall. I’ll report to Van──Elberhardt tonight. We’ll also secure personnel from the headquarters.”
Hearing my words, the guild master lets out a sigh of relief.
”But a newly discovered massive dungeon, huh? Even I can feel the excitement bubbling up. If it weren’t for the curse of Azradelius, I’d definitely want to take it on.”
”What kind of curse did Dad and Elberhardt get?”
”…It’s a troublesome curse to explain. I just hope Hiroya and the others can take care of it.”
”…I’ll do my best.”
”Well, I hope this new dungeon serves as a good training ground to build up the strength to conquer the real S-rank dungeon.”
”Yeah.”
Hiroya smiles brightly. …I bet many women fall for that smile. Even though he’s my child, it’s a bit scary.
But then again, thinking back to when I was 8, I was quite the charmer with the women in my village… he really is my son.
”Anyway, we’ll challenge it with a carefully selected team from the clan as soon as we’re ready. I need to check with Ms. Liz, but it should be in a few days.”
”Got it, Dorothy. …And I’m counting on you to look after Hiroya.”
”Leave it to me!”
Dorothy, with her stunning beauty among elves, blushes. She really cares for him… Hiroya, and here I am, never having had any luck with elven women myself.
(Well, Megumi and Milia getting in the way didn’t help either…)
I can’t help but chuckle at the thought. Everyone looks at me with puzzled expressions.
”Uh, um! Anyway, until Hiroya and the others return, the details about the new dungeon are top secret. Understood?”
I add a bit of authority to my voice to cover up my laughter. Everyone nods seriously.
