Chapter 238 The Night Before the Departure of the Low-Floor Group

(Hiroya’s POV)
I’m being forced to join Sister Karina for ‘after-dinner wine.’ Of course, I’m not old enough to drink alcohol, so Ms. Hanna brought me tea and some cheese snacks for Sister Karina.
”Th-thank you, Ms. Hanna! …f-for the delicious dinner tonight… a-a-as always!”
”I’m glad to hear everyone enjoyed it!”
Ms. Hanna smiled brightly and headed back to the kitchen.
”Sister Karina, you should probably get ready for bed and take a bath soon. After all… we’re attacking the ‘Great Labyrinth’ tomorrow.”
”…C-come on, just a little longer… stay with me, Hiroya…”
She’s been in a clingy mood since last night’s ‘George’s wedding party’.
(──I’m pretending not to notice, but we did sleep together…)
It’s probably because she lost her ‘family’ due to the Empire’s invasion.
It makes sense that she’d want to lean on me, who, even if it’s fake, is her ‘brother’ among the ‘Famière’ members.
”Alright, fine… just one more glass, okay?”
As I lifted the wine bottle to pour into Sister Karina’s glass…
”Ka! Ri! Na! It’s time to go take a bath! You’ve had enough brother time, right? Lord Hiroya is tired today too!”
Gièze grabbed Sister Karina by the scruff of her neck, treating her like a cat.
And what’s with that look she gave me when she said ‘tired’…?.
”Ah! …b-but I still want more!”
”Gièze, let her have just one more drink…”
”Come on, Lord Hiroya. Tomorrow’s the ‘Great Dungeon Exploration,’ after all. Besides, just because you’re her brother, you’re spoiling Karina way too much.”
(…I’m getting scolded…)
Well, I do feel a bit sorry for Sister Karina, and honestly, it’s true that I didn’t mind her looking up to me as a brother, even if it’s just a facade.
”Gièze is right. ──Alright, Sister Karina, you should take a bath and get some good rest for tomorrow.”
”U-uh… O-okay… if Hiroya’s tired too… you should hurry and take a bath and get to bed, okay?”
”Yeah. Got it.”
Sister Karina kept glancing back at us as Gièze led her away.

(Gièze’s POV)
After getting out of the bath, the girls from our ‘lower floor group’ were relaxing in the open space on the third floor.
Gorge and Noriss should be in the bath right now.
This third floor is where the guest rooms are.
There are 5 double rooms facing the backyard and 3 in the front.
Since there’s no ‘big bedroom’ like on the second floor, there are more rooms and the open space is wider.
The cylindrical part has 3 rooms, and it’s larger than the others, being a triple room.
The remaining cylindrical part is for washing up and the toilet.
The cylindrical part on the front side is Ms. Simona’s room, a guest of the clan, and if you go down the hallway from there to the backyard side, you’ll find the cylindrical room that belongs to Ms. Asuka and Mr. Gorge.
Well, that one will probably be vacant soon.
The other cylindrical room on the backyard side is for Ms. Aluda, Ms. Eluda, and Ms. Meluda, and the adjacent double room is for Ms. Lotta and Noriss.
Karina and I are in a double room right next to the open space.
It’s almost in the same position as Lord Hiroya’s room, so last night, I accidentally walked into Lord Hiroya’s room thinking it was mine.
”I’m really nervous since it’s the night before we dive into the dungeon…”
Lotta’s sitting on the sofa, sipping her honey lemon drink.
”It’s all good. When we first dove with Ms. Liz and the others, we did just fine. We’ve practiced our teamwork a bunch since then, and we’ve put it into action too.”
”Y-yeah, that’s right, Lotta… l-let’s trust in my strength and… and our family…”
Karina encourages Lotta, picking up where she left off.
”Exactly! We’ve worked hard, right? Tomorrow… we’re gonna show the results!”
”That’s right, Lotta. Mr. Gorge and Ms. Simona are here too. Plus, Lotta and Karina, Eluda’s got your backs for sure.”
Seeing Lotta clench her fists, Ms. Eluda finishes her wine and smiles brightly.
”Honestly, I ain’t planning on doing much. I’ll leave it up to you guys, alright?”
Even as she says that, Ms. Simona lightly sharpens her beloved great sword with a whetstone.
”Of course. I’ll do my best not to trouble Ms. Simona too much.”
”Ooh, I’m counting on you, leader!”
That’s right.
Unless something really crazy happens, we gotta do our best on our own.
”Is everyone gathered for tomorrow’s meeting?”
”Can I join in too?”
Gorge and Noriss appear in the open space, fresh from their bath.
”Noo’s a member too! Excluding me is just mean!”
Following them up the stairs is a blue maid-dressed wolf maid.
”Looks like everyone’s here? ──So, I want to go over the formation for the encounter again…”
I lean forward, starting to recap what we’ve discussed multiple times.

(…What time is it…?)
It’s still dark outside, visible through the curtains.
Checking the clock, it’s only 2 in the morning.
I could probably get a bit more sleep.
(I went to bed early to prepare for the exploration…)
I glance over at Karina’s bed.
──Looks like she’s actually sleeping in her ‘own bed’ tonight.
She looks so peaceful.
(I can’t believe it… I’m so excited about the ‘Great Labyrinth’ exploration that I can’t sleep…)
I was wrapped in my futon, eyes closed, but I couldn’t fall asleep no matter what.
Even though I went to bed early, I want to get some more rest for tomorrow.
(Maybe I should work up a sweat first…)
I’ll do some practice swings, take a bath, and then try to sleep again.
I put on my cloak over my nightwear and quietly left the room.

As I walked downstairs, I glanced in the direction of Lord Hiroya’s room on the second floor.
And then, I remembered what happened last night, my face flushing with embarrassment.
(No, no, Gisela… you mustn’t sneak into Lord Hiroya’s room like that again…)
I started heading down the stairs to the first floor, but…
I couldn’t help but recall that sweet moment, and my body responded with desire.
(Jeez, am I really such a lustful woman?)
No, I feel this way because… I have such strong feelings for Lord Hiroya.
I’ve never felt this way about any other man, not once.
But…
(When I think about Lord Hiroya, my body just heats up…)
I turned back from the stairs I had just descended and made my way to Lord Hiroya’s room.
To somehow calm my aroused body.

I slowly opened the door and peeked inside.
(I heard he was tired from… you know… doing it… during the day. He should be sleeping soundly…)
I tiptoed in and approached the bed.
Lord Hiroya was sleeping peacefully, facing me, under the covers.
(Y-Yeah… such an adorable sleeping face. I can’t believe I feel this way about a cute boy like him…)
Lord Hiroya’s gentle snores filled the room.
(I’m so turned on right now…)
It’s not something I would normally feel.
But I can’t deny that I’m drawn to his strength, his kindness, and that masculine scent.
And it all started when I found out that this boy’s mind is actually that of a 23-year-old man…
”Well, I can’t help but be drawn to him and fall in love,” I settled with myself in my heart.
(I really do like him… Lord Hiroya…)
I quietly leaned in close to that adorable sleeping face… and pressed my lips to his.
