Chapter 456 Della’s Negotiation
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
(Della’s POV)
”So, do you all just want the management rights”
Before they could make demands, I decided to ask a question.
”You’re the only one with the private management rights to the brōtḥel. And the lord here has no intention of granting new management rights. So, it seems we have no choice but to ‘peacefully’ receive them from you, right?”
Bolt leaned forward from the table, getting close to my face.
His breath reeked of tobacco.
”But I only have the management permit for ‘Chick Gathering Inn,’ you know? Is that enough for you?”
”…What are you trying to say?”
(Alright… we’re engaging in the conversation.)
Anyway, I’ll prolong the discussion.
I thought this and started talking, maintaining a distance that wouldn’t irritate them.
”I am… the lord’s mistress.”
”So what? Are you saying that if you get involved, the lord won’t stay quiet?”
I continued speaking in a way that made the future of the conversation seem unclear.
And… it seemed that they were interested.
This is going according to my plan.
”Don’t you understand why I could obtain the management rights to the brōtḥel…?”
”I see… so you ‘asked’ the lord…”
Bolt smiled slyly.
──Truthfully, that’s not it.
”So… are you saying that through your ‘request,’ we could also receive the management rights to the brōtḥel?”
”Considering the number of adventurers gathering at the ‘Great Labyrinth’ and the size of Raetia… I believe there’s still room for 2 or 3 more brōtḥels to increase.”
”Oh… is that so…”
Bolt took the bait.
”Thanks to that, my ‘Chick Gathering Inn’ and the brōtḥel next to the barracks are full of customers until morning.”
This is a lie.
While it’s true that there are many adventurers, the recent migration policies of Raetia have brought in more young adventurers to live here.
And they are mostly partnered.
Brothel rarely takes care of him.
”With the stationed soldiers and so many adventurers around, it’s bound to be booming.”
Bolt’s eyes, filled with greed, glimmer unnaturally.
”Indeed, your shop alone wouldn’t be enough… it would be a waste.”
Bolt leans back, arms crossed, deep in thought.
He glances at Baron Wal.
”‘Regarding the ‘business deal,’ I have no touch on that. I need to set up arrangements to get Carla, so I’m leaving the rest to you.”
(Carla… she became Sir Hiroya’s possession, didn’t she…)
”Why Ms. Carla…?”
Ms. Sasha, sitting next to him, stands up to question Baron Wal’s back.
”Why? Because that girl is mine. Pressner said he would let me have her back after returning from the defense duty, but he goes and offers her as a condition for a duel to a kid who isn’t even ten…”
”How selfish…!”
Ms. Sasha managed to buy some time, but provoking the opponent is a bad idea.
I pull Ms. Sasha’s arm, forcing her back into her chair.
”Hmph…”
Baron Wal gives Ms. Sasha a scowl before leaving the room.

”Let’s continue the discussion. If you convince the lord, will you gain the right to run multiple brōtḥels?”
”I think it’s worth a try. Even if it’s impossible, wouldn’t it be fine to just hand over my management rights again?”
”Alright, it’s settled then. I could take you hostage to pressure the lord, but…”
Though Bolt says something ominous, I quietly shake my head.
”Do you think the Heroic Swordsman of the former Hero Party would buckle under threats?”
”──Not a chance.”
(It’s about time to wrap up the conversation…)
”So that’s how it is. I’ll consult with the lord tomorrow.”
”Of course, both Giacomo and I will accompany you. Can’t let anything funny happen.”
Bolt stands up from his seat.
”For now, I’ll hold off on your and the leader’s ‘enslavement’ until tomorrow.”
Saying that, Giacomo grabs Bolt’s shoulder as he tries to leave the room.
”…Stay here. ──It seems bandits have intruded.”
”What!?”
”Don’t worry. …There aren’t many of them. ──I’ll take care of it.”
With that, Giacomo left the room.
”Have they come to reclaim you…? I wonder how your companions can fight against 3 rank S.”
With a loud laugh, Bolt also left the room.

”The door is locked, huh. ──Are the bandits Mr. Hiroya and his group?”
”Maybe…”
I also heard Ms. Sasha is Sir Hiroya’s girlfriend.
Presumably, they have come to rescue her.
But──
(Even if Sir Hiroya is ‘the greatest swordsman of Raetia,’ can he really fight against rank S…?)
Sir Shinji’s precious son.
I prayed for his safety, hands clasped over my heart.

(Hiroya’s POV)
”That was surprisingly easy.”
”This is where the real deal begins, Hiroya.”
Since it was an abandoned house, there were no sentries posted outside.
It looked dark from outside, but when we kicked in the entrance, it was brightly lit inside.
”They’re using magic to keep the light from leaking outside.”
Rena looked down at the 4 men we had cut down during the breach.
”But… for there to be hostages, it’s quite showy for Shinji.”
Rain stepped into the entrance hall, stepping over the bodies of the guards.
”It’s a spacious hall. Almost like a noble’s mansion.”
”It’s the largest mansion in the southern residential area.”
Looking up at the high ceiling, Gargantua responded while sheathing 2 swords.
”Who was this huge mansion built for?”
”Rain… it was built for you. ──When we confronted the current king’s faction, I don’t know if we’ll go to Viscount’s or here, but preparations are necessary, right?”
”Thanks for that…”
Rain shrugged and thanked dad, who replied with a smile.
”Well, um… the mansion built for me is about to become a battlefield…”
With that, Rain stared at the grand staircase.
My dad, Gargantua, and I also turned our gaze in that direction.
I stepped forward to shield Rena behind me.
”Shinji…O’Brian…you’ve come…you’ve come!”
Two men and one woman appeared at the top of the stairs.
The man in the middle called out my fdad’s name in a trembling voice.
”How long I’ve dreamed of this moment… It’s a pity I don’t see Elberhardt here… but first, I’ll kill you! You fraud of a hero party!”
The man in the middle shouted in fury.
Maybe this guy is Giacomo Rultz…
”Isn’t your poor conduct the reason you’re weaker than us? I can’t believe you managed to take down the Demon King.”
My father taunted Giacomo provocatively.
It’s not like him, but it shows how angry he is.
”Haha! You sure know how to talk, Sir Heroic Swordsman! Looks like we’re both 3. How do you want to fight?”
The woman laughed.
The other man remained silent.
”Of course, I’ll kill Shinji O’Brian…!”
Giacomo descended the stairs.
”Who fought Shinobu? Who kidnapped Ms. Sasha…”
”Ah, that was me.”
The woman answered and walked down the stairs.
”Then you’re my opponent…”
”No way? Isn’t that Raincrist or the Oni-kin girl over there? You look tall, but you still seem like a child.”
The woman sniffed at me.
What an infuriating woman.
Giacomo was already facing my dad.
I stood in front of the woman who had walked down after my father and unleashed ‘Hiroya’s power.’
”Wha──!?”
”Hey, is this enough for you?”
I glared down at the surprised woman, now in the form of Hiroya.
”Then I guess I’m facing… that spear man.”
Gargantua advanced down the stairs, wielding a great naginata.
”The combinations are set. Rain, Rena… no interference.”
My dad also drew his longsword and shortsword.
I too placed my hand on my Yamikirimaru at my waist.
I’ll make this woman pay for hurting Shinobu and kidnapping Ms. Sasha.
