Chapter 586 Dungeon Master・Wash

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 (Kazumi’s POV)

Right before our eyes, finally revealed, the main body of the Light God, Frejya.

Wearing Asuka’s coat, clutching the front closure and shaking slightly, her body still doesn’t have its strength back.

Lilith is holding her shoulder beside her.

”I… it won’t be back to my former strength right away, but… with a little rest, I should be able to move normally…”

Hearing her voice directly, it’s more delicate than the one that came from Kamikirimaru.

”If you fuse with your ‘copy’ in Kamikirimaru, it’ll be a little better, wouldn’t it?”

”Uh… yeah, you’re right. That one does get power from Hiroya…”

Frejya turns her head quickly at Lilith’s advice.

Her white, long hair shimmers like silk and is very beautiful…

 ”Um, well…”

Hiroya, who is in her line of sight, also seems flustered to be looked at by Frejya.

His cheeks are turning red all the way up to his ears… what a goof.

But Frejya’s gaze is fixed on Kamikirimaru, and after a while, Frejya, who had been leaning on Lilith, straightened her back.

At the same time, a white dress appeared under her coat.

”Thank you, Hiroya. ──I’ve somehow been receiving this much magical power.”

She said that, bowing her head gracefully.

Seems like she’s gotten some of her magical power back, at least enough to wear clothes.

”Well… I need to negotiate with Wash. ──Can you wait here for a while?”

”Yeah, we don’t mind. In the meantime, I want to look at this ore vein. …Right?”

Before heading to the two0th floor, Liz asks Frejya a question in return.

”Sure, it’s from the Raetia Mountain Range. Feel free to.”

Seeing Frejya walk towards the door with her head bowed alongside Lilith, Aluda and Meluda hurriedly ran to check the adamantite steel wall.

”Alright then, it may be a bit late, but shall we have lunch?”

I began preparing lunch with Noo, Rena, and Asuka.

* * *

”This is Lady Frejya’s heartfelt request. I don’t mind regularly replenishing the magical power here at the Dungeon Core…however…”

Just as Frejya and Lilith appeared on this floor with the Water Dragon, lunch preparations had just wrapped up.

The Water Dragon magic-set the table for us, and after we all took our seats and began eating, the Water Dragon murmured with a troubled expression.

 ”What’s the matter… Is there a problem?”

Lilith, elegantly maneuvering her knife and fork, tilted her head as she brought a piece of spiced jerky to her mouth.

 ”A problem, indeed… A major issue!”

The Water Dragon looked at Lilith with that troubled expression and then shifted its gaze to Liz.

”Captain Liz──’Archer of the Divine Eye’…”

 ”W-What is it…?”

The Water Dragon let out a big sigh in response to Liz’s fluster.

”To have such a delicious meal without any alcohol… What on earth is going on?”

 ”Well… we’re here for exploration… so having alcohol is…”

All the party members looked at Simona, who had brought over a bottle of wine swiped from the Clan house cabinet, with cold stares as she tried to make excuses.

…Of course, I was one of them.

”You see, to do a good job, alcohol is essential. Remember that…”

While grumbling as it ate, the Water Dragon was already sporting a cheerful grin.

”You should come visit the Clan house too, Water Dragon!”

”Definitely! We have great food and delicious drinks waiting!”

”Exactly! Meluda and the others will treat you like royalty!”

Seeing Martina, Aluda, and Meluda wooing Wash, the water dragon… I figured it was the perfect time to strike while the iron was hot and make my pitch.

”Our clan, ‘Famière,’ prides itself on its cuisine. We reckon it’s the best in Raetia.”

”Oh ho… Even though it’s mostly dried meat, this meal’s tasty… But better?”

”Absolutely! You’re welcome to come anytime.”

A huge grin spread across Wash’s face.

 ”So… I have a favor to ask…”

 ”Hmm. What is it?”

To the seemingly happy dragon, I brought up the subject of the mithril vein on the 18th floor and the adamantite vein here.

* * *

”…I see. You want me to allow mining in those 2 locations, huh?”

”Yes. And, I’m not asking for the whole floor, but I’d like you to limit the monster spawns in those areas we’re mining.”

Wash, the water dragon, crossed his arms and pondered my proposal.

”Alright. I’ll give it some thought. My answer will depend on… well, after I’ve tasted your clan’s food, of course. How does that sound?”

Wash winked with a mischievous smile.

”Then it’s a deal. ──Shall we go together now?”

”No, I need to replenish the magical power in the Dungeon Core and prepare to be the dungeon master here… I’ll come by after that’s done.”

I firmly grasped Wash’s outstretched right hand.

 (Mira’s POV)

’This Great Labyrinth Raetia… Has been successfully conquered… By Famière’s Liz squad…’

The voice echoed through the labyrinth right after we defeated the two wyverns that appeared as the Third Floor’s floor bosses.

”I see… Hiroya and the others finally did it.”

Ms. Milia looked up at the ceiling of the huge hall and smiled.

 ”Yeah. They’re something else…”

Ms. Gargantua wiped the wyvern blood off her great naginata with a cloth… and smiled with genuine joy.

(I can’t believe… they really took them down all by themselves…)

I’m filled with admiration for everyone’s accomplishments.

I can’t help but think back to our recent battle with the floor boss.

* * *

This floor boss battle was special because the monster we faced was tailored to our party’s overall strength.

Maya and I, along with Mr. Hernando and Mr. Esperanza, took cover near the entrance of the hall, staying low and out of sight.

 And then…with a high-pitched roar, 2 wyverns appeared.

I’d heard they were smaller, degraded dragons, but they were still huge.

Then, in the center of the hall, Ms. Gargantua stood tall, her great naginata ready, as the wyverns swooped down from the sky.

But Ms. Milia cast a powerful wind magic spell, and a powerful gust of wind swept through the hall, causing the two wyverns to collide and crash to the ground.

It all happened so quickly after that.

One moment, Ms. Gargantua’s great naginata, engulfed in swirling flames, flashed, and the next, the head of one wyvern was severed, along with flames, and Ms. Gargantua vanished.

In the blink of an eye, a bolt of lightning streaked across the hall, and the other wyvern’s head was also severed.

* * *

’I am Wash, the new dragon master of this dungeon. … You humans call me the Water Dragon.’

”Wow! The Water Dragon really exists!”

”The Water Dragon Wash… an ancient dragon from the ancient civilization era.”

I listened to Ms. Milia and Ms. Gargantua’s conversation while I worked on opening the treasure chest.

(The Water Dragon… I think they worshipped him during a summer festival in Raetia…)

I heard he helped the village when they suffered a severe drought.

’The dungeon master has changed, but nothing about this dungeon will be different. Don’t worry.– To the adventurers who continue to explore!I cheer for you!’

With those words, his voice faded away.

”Well…let’s go see Van and Barbara.”

I confirmed that Ms. Milia handed over a longsword and 2 shortswords to Maya after I unlocked the chest and took them out.

Then, she set off towards the Fourth Floor, also known as the ‘Closed World,’ so we chased after her.
