The morning training session wrapped up smoothly.
Simona had begun to master the Dragon’s Jaw just like her beloved Greatsword, which she had used for years.
Dorothy displayed a satisfying level of skill suitable for the ‘S-Rank realm’ she had just stepped into.
Yet, the one who surprised everyone with her moves was Martina.
Known for her speed and exceptional stealth techniques in combat, she matched up evenly against both me and Asuka.
She seemed to read our movements well enough, but her knack for disappearing allowed her to close the gap in speed and put up an impressive fight.
To put it bluntly, Asuka and I were being *toyed with*.
”If this is the case… then when Martina steps into the S-Rank territory──”
”Yeah. It’s going to be terrifying.”
Though Asuka and I felt a chill at her performance, Martina just chuckled, “Hehe♡,” clearly unaware of the genius lurking within her.

”Alright, breakfast is done, so… we need to report to Papa.”
After wrapping up a quick breakfast with the Liz team, Kazumi stood up, finishing her tea.
”We promised to conquer an ‘S-Rank Dungeon’ within 3 years.”
”Müller Knights or something? That’s the first I’ve heard of this promise!”
Simona asked, intrigued by Liz’s response.
”Yep! Big Brother Hiroya, Big Sis Kazumi, and Sis Rena were chosen. I declared I’d follow everyone!”
Martina’s excitement was palpable as she spoke, but her expression dropped as she muttered, “But… I’m still rank A…”
”No way! You toyed with Asuka and me, so you’re practically S-Rank already.”
”That’s true. I don’t know how the guild will assess it, but honestly, in that match, Hiroya and I could have easily lost.”
There’s no need to feel down when you can move like that.
Asuka and I said those words to Martina.
”But… Azradelius has already vanished from the ‘S-Class Dungeon’… it’s back to being the ‘Goblin Forest Labyrinth’. Is the promise still valid?”
Dorothy cast a worried glance at Kazumi.
”Well, you see… we have this goal we thought up…”
”Exactly! Our goal was to conquer the ‘Great Labyrinth Raetia’!”
Rena and Kazumi replied to Dorothy, looking around at everyone.
”Ideally, we’d prefer to deal with Azradelius first, but… we think we should report on conquering the ‘Great Labyrinth Raetia,’ then take down Azradelius again… and make a declaration to rescue Mom, Koichi, and Aelia.”
When I added that, everyone nodded in agreement.
”The promise was made between me and Hiroya, Rena and Liz, and Martina… but I want everyone who contributed to join in. What do you think?”
Kazumi leaned forward on the table, asking everyone, while Aluda and Meluda raised their hands apologetically.
”Sorry… Aluda and Meluda still have some work left with Grandpa…”
”The adamantite gear we’re working on is almost finished!”
Come to think of it, Aluda and Meluda had been working hard in the workshop since we returned from our expedition.
”I’m struggling to manage it all by myself. I want to incorporate their creativity too, so I’m counting on you!”
Toldo opened the door leading to the usual backyard and sat down on the stone steps, puffing on a cigarette as he lowered his head.
”No problem at all! In fact, I’d prefer if you focused on that!”
”Noo also wants to take the day off from school to prioritize mansion work!”
Kazumi hurriedly told Aluda and Meluda, while Noo, who had come to clear away the empty tea cups, bowed politely.
”Yep. I asked Ms. Hanna for help today.”
”Got it!”
Noo wagged her tail excitedly and gathered everyone’s cups, heading towards the kitchen.
”Well, then, let’s just go us. …Are Simona and Dorothy coming too? What about Asuka?”
”I’m coming. I wanted to have a nice, long talk with the Kingdom’s Number One Guardian Knight.”
”I shall accompany you as well.”
”I also want to hear from Knight Müller, who Hiroya calls his master.”
All 3 of them expressed their intention to join Liz.
”Then, let’s get started. There are a lot of guests this morning, so we need to clear the dining hall quickly.”
Rena said that, making eye contact with Ms. Hanna.
”Some of the Clan members are probably waking up now…This morning, Mr. Ares and Ms. Mira, and the Rose Hip people are all coming as well, you know.”
Ms. Hanna gave a small curtsey and nodded to the wolf maids, Ms. Carla, and Ms. Ariane, then disappeared into the kitchen.
”By the way, is Asuka alright? Ms. Ariane went to prepare breakfast, but…what about KaoKao and Craig?”
”Kaoru, Craig, and Liselle all have Lotta looking after them, and since today is a school holiday, Sandra is helping out too.”
Asuka answered Rena’s question with a cheerful grin.
As a mother, what do you think?
I know Asuka cares deeply, and everyone in the clan is raising them with love, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s enough for children born here.

Kazumi, Rena, Liz, Martina, Dorothy, Simona, Asuka, and I──we set off for Kazumi’s house in carriages and on horseback.
It was a pleasant morning with clear, crisp air.
”After I’m finished with my report, I want to spend some time relaxing with papa and mama today.”
”Yeah, Kazumi, you should take it easy at home sometimes.”
I agreed, nodding to Kazumi who was riding behind me on Haya.
”Then, Liz! Let’s have a rematch of last night’s drinks while the sun is still up!”
”Whoa! Drinking in broad daylight! You guys are living the good life!”
Simona and Liz were already making plans to go drinking.
──Well, I guess it’s good to let loose after a long exploration…
”I’m…I’d rather spend some time relaxing in the Clan house greenhouse.”
”I have promises to keep with MirMir, EmaEma, Amel, and Zamie.”
Dorothy’s probably going for a forest bath, and Martina will be training her junior Thieves.
”I…I want to get some training from Kazumi’s father.”
”As always, you’re dedicated to your swordsmanship.”
Asuka, always striving to improve her swordsmanship.
Her expression when she’s like this is so dignified, like a true swordsman.
The contrast with her usual self makes me want to tease her.
”Rena… want to go on a date with Hiroya again…”
Rena whispers to me, as if to a secret pact.
”Is it okay?” she asks Kazumi.
”Go ahead, spend some time with Hiroya. But in return…will you train magic with me?”
”Of course!”
It’s dazzling to see the two childhood friends laughing together.
They’re truly close.
I even feel a little jealous.
”What’s wrong, Hiroya?”
”Did something funny happen?”
My face must have relaxed unknowingly when I looked at them.
The two childhood friends look at me in surprise.
”No…it’s just that it’s amazing…that such wonderful people…are my childhood friends…and lovers…”
