Chapter 639 Mistake of Gargantua

Finally, Three-Face lowered his head in a deep bow before Lilith and Frejya.
”I, Three-Face, will personally take charge of monitoring Azradelius.”
And then, it happened.
”W-Wait! That matter… please, wait a moment!”
Three horsemen suddenly appeared on the scene—followed closely by four more rushing in behind them.

”I understand that Three-Face has acted disrespectfully and recklessly. I also understand it’s something that can never be forgiven.”
Kneeling between Three-Face and the two goddesses, Lilith and Frejya, was…
”Um, Gargantua, about that matter──”
”I fully understand your anger. Hiroya, your friends──no, your family were attacked… and worse, there was even a plot to kidnap your precious Kazumi. That alone is unforgivable.”
I tried to explain, but Gargantua cut me off.
Behind her, two attendants—Hernando and Esperanza—were prostrated on the ground. Four unfamiliar demons also knelt, their heads bowed low.
”Oh no, Gargantua, saying precious Kazumi… that’s embarrassing♡”
When I glanced at Kazumi, she was blushing and squirming shyly behind Lilith and Frejya.
Yeah, that’s definitely embarrassing.
”But for such a sin… I’ve come to ask forgiveness in his place. He exposed Azradelius’s despicable plot and saved our clan from ruin.”
After bowing deeply—almost pleading—to Lilith and Frejya, Gargantua turned to Three-Face.
”My subordinates, the Sixteen Demon Generals, told me. You stopped the ‘Star of Thunder,’ didn’t you?”
”Ah, ah… thanks to that, I was taken over by Azradelius.”
Three-Face, clearly stunned by Gargantua’s intervention, answered with a bitter, self-deprecating tone.
”That’s how it is. Being controlled was his own weakness—but the violence that followed wasn’t his will. So please… I ask you, spare his life.”
Gargantua pleaded with such force that she pressed her forehead against the ground.
”For that, I will do anything,” she said.
”Oh ho… ‘anything,’ huh?”
”No, no, Lilith. We won’t give Three-Face any severe punishment.”
Lilith looked down at Gargantua with a sly, scheming smile—only to be firmly restrained by Frejya.
”Wha… what!?”
”As you heard, Gargantua. I’ve assigned him to watch over Azradelius.”
”…I still can’t fully grasp his plan. Once Lilith is freed, how Azradelius—and whoever’s behind him—will act…”
The twin goddess offered a gentle smile to Gargantua, who looked up in surprise.
(By the way, Gargantua… those words just now were something I can’t ignore…)
Slowly, a light anger and sadistic feeling rose in my chest, so I crouched down right next to Gargantua and whispered into her ear.
”You said ‘I will do anything’ without my permission?”
Gargantua trembled slightly, then slowly raised her head to look at me.
”H-Hiroya…? No, I-I didn’t mean…”
”That’s right. You are mine, aren’t you? I can’t stand it if you do things on your own──”
I cut my words there, and brought my mouth closer to her ear again to say this.
”I will make you understand soon…”
”Ah…!”
Gargantua let out a light sigh, her ears turning red.
Yeah.
Her reaction is innocent and really good.

While we were having that exchange, 2 more demons flew in.
They seemed injured, but one was quite a sexy female demon and the other was a big, chubby male demon.
”Thank you for the treatment earlier.”
The female demon lightly lowered her head as she looked at Liz and Simona.
Liz and Simona lightly raised their hands in response to the female demon.
”I apologize, Sir Three-Face. The attack on Liz and Simona of ‘Famière’ has failed. Shunel was killed… and look at me now.”
”I also escaped without being able to do anything… Groce was killed and I was surrounded by the Mithril Golem.”
”You have worked hard, Vaize, Feth.”
Three-Face, with a sad expression, offered kind words, but his gaze remained fixed on the ground.
”I have done something unforgivable to Shunel and Groce. Their deaths are a result of my inexperience and foolishness.”
”More importantly, Sir Three-Face, who are these people?”
As her master, Gargantua, Hernando, and Esperanza had already stood up, Vaize, a female demon who seemed to be one of Three-Face’s subordinates, looked suspiciously at the two women who were kneeling.
”They are the dark goddess Lilith and the light goddess Frejya.”
At Three-Face’s words, the expressions of the two fat demons, Vaize and Feth, instantly turned to fear.
”I-I’m sorry!”
”I-I didn’t know who you were…!”
”That’s enough… everyone, stand up…”
Seeing the two panic and kneel, Lilith murmured with annoyance.

”Anyway, I ask you to keep watch on Azradelius.”
”Well, there is no need to push yourself. I hope to be released by you all♡”
”Then… we should not go to the Welnia Labyrinth without Azradelius’s orders…”
Three-Face, who had finally stood up, proposed this, but Lilith and Frejya shook their heads at the same time.
”That won’t do.”
”That’s right. You should follow Azradelius. Or else──”

They would likely be in danger themselves.
And maybe they noticed Lilith’s intentions.
Three-Face knelt down again and lowered his head.
”W… We are grateful for your concern for our safety… It’s too much for us…!”
That emotionless tone shook as if it were overwhelmed with feelings.
”I am also worried about my master’s brother──the Demon King, and about mother and the other hostages too. So please try not to provoke Azradelius──or whoever is behind him.”
”So, get up quickly,” Lilith urged Three-Face to stand again.
”Who is the one behind…?”
”It’s the Supreme God…”
As Three-Face stood up and asked, Frejya answered in a low voice.
Whether her voice was shaking from fear or anger, it was unclear.
