”So, you know…”
A little before class started, 3 girls walked into the classroom dressed like village girls.
”Why are Liz and the others here?”
”I didn’t hear anything about this?”
”Me neither, Rena…”
The other students, who were getting ready for class, started to whisper.
When I glanced over, Liz and Martina waved at me with smiles, and Dorothy gave a little bow.
”It’s Liz and Martina, right? And Hiroya, the other one is… the elf that you saved from the monster hunt?”
Jan came over to me and asked quietly.
It’s impressive that he knows about Dorothy too; he really is the guild master’s son.
He gets information fast.
I tried not to look back too much and nodded at Jan.
”I didn’t realize Liz was that pretty. Since she’s not in her usual leather armor, I didn’t recognize her at first.”
Right? She’s my girl.
But I couldn’t say that, so I just nodded in agreement.
”By the way, Hiroya, your party has Kazumi and Rena, right? So, Liz and Martina… Did that elf join the group too?”
Jan’s friend, the tall guy Lantz, asked, and I nodded again to answer.
”Wow, they’re all such beautiful girls.”
”…Maybe I should become an adventurer too…”
The little guy Gazura and the chubby Mash were staring at the 3 girls with wide eyes.
”Liz! What are you doing at school?”
Jan, who knows Liz from the guild, called out to her.
”Oh! Jan! Good luck with your studies! Future guild master!”
”We came to see Big Brother Hiroya and the others in class.”
Instead of Liz, Martina answered while teasing Jan.
”So, it’s an observation day. Anyone can watch the classes if they want, but…”
”Kazumi, it’s not just anyone, right? Only family of the students can come. I heard that from Rena.”
”Oh, I see… So, you guys have the right to be here…”
”Why?!”
Why do you come to that conclusion, Ms. Kazumi?
”Because we’re ‘family’.”
”Ah…”
Well, once you say that, I can’t argue.
”…But I feel more embarrassed being seen by my parents than anyone else…”

While we were talking, the handbell rang, signaling the start of class, and Miss Maria walked into the classroom.
”Before we start, today we have some members of Hiroya’s adventurer party here to observe. Everyone, let’s do our best today!”
The students replied in unison, “Yes!”.
”Ms. Liz, Ms. Martina, and Ms. Dorothy, please take care of Hiroya, Kazumi, and Rena.”
Saying this, Miss Maria stepped down from the podium and bowed to the 3 girls in the back.
When I looked back, they seemed a bit surprised by the teacher’s greeting, but they returned the bow properly.
”Now, let’s start class. Open your math textbooks to page 52…”
And so, the class continued in a strangely tense atmosphere.

On the way home from school, Liz, who was walking in front, turned around to apologize.
”I’m sorry for the sudden visit. You must have been nervous, right?”
”I asked to see a ‘human school.’ I was surprised to see beastmen and half-elves in the class.”
”I had fun! You all are really smart!”
Martina had been smiling the whole time during class.
”No, it’s fine. It woke me up, and I was able to pay attention in class.”
”But… that was the last class for the third years, right?”
”Yeah? I only heard that we would be ‘exempt from classes for a while’.”
I answered Liz’s question with another question.
”When I got to school, a woman who was the principal called out to me. She said, ‘Not just to see the school, but do you want to watch Hiroya’s class? It’s the last class for the third years’.”
”Oh, you mean Principal Milia.”
”Milia…? Milia… Could it be ‘Sage’ Milia?”
Liz exclaimed in surprise.
”I’ve heard of her too.”
”I know about her as well. She’s known as the ‘brain’ of the hero party, ‘magician’ Lady Milia. So, that was her.”
Martina was the first to speak up, and then Dorothy joined in.
It seems even the elves know her name.
Actually, Dorothy is holding her throat a bit.
”Your throat isn’t fully better yet, huh? You shouldn’t push yourself too hard, okay?”
Dorothy nodded slightly at my words.
”‘Lady Milia is the principal? This village really values education,’ Dorothy said.”
Rena, holding my left hand, translated for me with ‘Telepathy’.
”Well, we got the news that we passed the test and finished the third-year course.”
”It feels a bit sad, but now we can focus on our adventures, right?”
”There’s no helping it. Rena and the others have to do their best…”
”Yeah. So, should we leave starting tomorrow? We’re aiming for the center of the ‘Goblin Forest,’ right?”
”Yeah… Guido and Otto left first, and I heard 3 groups from the royal capital left today. If everyone is okay with it, I want to chase after them and leave tomorrow morning. Since we’re leaving later, it should be a lot easier for us.”
Liz looked around seriously at everyone.
Everyone stared at Liz and nodded.
”Alright! It’s decided!”
Liz smiled brightly.
”Then let’s hurry to the 3 sisters and get Dorothy’s gear ready!”
Saying that, Liz started walking ahead again.

”””It’s ready!”””
”Wow, that was fast!”
On the table were various armor parts lined up.
They looked like leather armor, similar to what Liz and Martina had.
”I was hoping to get some designs carved into Doro-Doro’s armor too…”
”Well, if you request it, I can carve it right away.”
Martina sighed in disappointment, and Aluda answered her easily.
”Oh, and this too.”
Meluda brought over a sheathed estoc.
It was about the same height as me.
”Since it’s this long, I can only wear it on my back.”
Saying that, Meluda drew it from the sheath.
I had heard it was designed for thrusting and had no blade, just a pointed tip, but even though it had a thin blade, it had a proper edge from the tip to about halfway down.
”I thought it would give us more options for attacks. But it still has the performance of an estoc. It can easily pierce through light metal armor.”
Eluda held the sword not by the grip but by both the blade and the grip, forming a cross shape with the unique guard, readying it at her waist.
”Is this how you hold an estoc?”
Eluda asked Dorothy for confirmation.
Dorothy nodded firmly in response.
Eluda smiled and put the estoc back in its sheath, handing it to Dorothy.
”Thank you very much.”
Dorothy bowed her head.
”Doro-Doro, you can talk now. That’s great!”
”What a beautiful voice…”
Meluda looked dreamy.
”Alright, let’s pick out a bow for you now.”
Saying that, Aluda brought over 5 bows of different sizes.
”Choose whichever one you like. I’ll adjust the string for the one you pick.”
Dorothy browsed through the bows and chose the biggest one.
”Okay. Just wait a moment.”
Aluda sat down in a chair and started adjusting the string.
”Now, Doro-Doro, why don’t you go try on some armor with Eluda and the others? We have undergarments ready too.”
Dorothy disappeared into the back room with Eluda and Meluda.
