Chapter 208 Father-in-Law ①

While I spent my days busy with the childcare of my dear daughter Momo and the baby-making with the adventurer elf Tania, a certain report arrived at our shop.
Duke Roost Badcage is coming. Well, even though I say it’s a report, it was actually something I had been told by Her Majesty¹ in advance.
Basically, around the time Her Highness Ierse of the Coalmine Kingdom² returns from trade talks with her home country, the sea nation of Silvail³, a plan was made to gather all related people and talk, regardless of success or failure.

Now, if the trade talks with Silvail are a success, a trade zone connecting the three kingdoms of Silvail, Canaria⁴, and Coalmine will be born.
The center of it would be our shop’s products like the Ddo-Buddy⁵, so you could call it the ‘Ddo-Buddy Trade Zone.’ Yeah… even I think I’m being dumb, but it’s a name that fits the facts.
Well, I’m free to call it what I want. Eventually, trade for other things not related to our shop will grow, and a nice name will probably be given.
On the other hand, if Silvail says no to this plan, we want to make the link between the Canaria Kingdom and the Coalmine Kingdom even stronger. The point is not just that it ‘becomes strong,’ but that we ‘want to make it strong.’
Usually, the link between countries gets stronger as the number of people involved grows. This is because betraying one country makes it more likely to get hated by other countries too.
Using this kind of link to aim for world peace is called a ‘Balance of Power,’ if I remember right… Thinking about what was done under that name in my old world and the price paid for it, I don’t really want to use that word…
Also, in this case, we should think if the common theory fits, especially with the marriage talk between Silvail and Coalmine. But if so, then the link with Coalmine should be even more important.
If Silvail says no and the link with Coalmine doesn’t move forward, then the current war and the stop in fighting will just be a temporary fix. It could go back to the way it was before, where we don’t know when Coalmine might attack again.

Lily, Tania, and the adventurer dog-beastman Laika looked at me with tired eyes as I put my hands on the floor in pain. As the day Duke Badcage would come to the Royal Capital got closer, I suffered like this every day.

• Roost – Duke of Badcage and father of Tina Badcage. He has long silver hair mixed with some white, a cool-headed expression, and red eyes. Despite a relatively slender build, he possesses a strong fighting spirit.
• Ierse – The Crown Princess and wife of Gilliam, originally from a foreign land. She is described as lively and healthy with a unique charm. She wants to cheer up her husband. Has long haired hair.
• Aerith – A wolf beast-person and Ouka’s daughter. She is intensely attracted to Kento’s creative genius and is not shy about showing her interest. Have gray fur hair and tail, wearing elegant dress.
• Ouka – The middle-aged head of the Garou Merchant Guild, known for leather goods and accessories. He is a prominent figure using his own family’s experience to advocate for the ‘Tremble Ddo-Buddy’. Have gray wolf ears and wear merchant attire.
• Lily – the sl*ve and primary experiment subject for the magic shop, ‘Harvest.’ She has striking pink hair, Blue eyes, medium breasts, which the Protagonist associates with being ‘wanton’. She has a working knowledge of magic, which she kept hidden from the slave trader.
• Laika – The beastwoman dog.
