Chapter 260 The Lustrous Little Ddo-Buddy
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
A few days had passed since the party to slay the evil dragon Zil Meina set off. In that time, I’d learned that both Tania, the elven adventurer, and Laika, the dog-beastman adventurer, were carrying my children. With new mouths to feed and a legacy to build, I threw myself into my work with a vengeance.
”Alright, the rest will go faster if you guys handle it rather than me doing it alone. I’ll swing by to check the progress, but I’m leaving the rest to you,” I said.
”You got it, boss. Go take care of those wives of yours,” one of them replied.
”Much appreciated. I owe you one!” I said.
I’d delegated the production of the Ddo-Buddy Cannon¹ for delivery to the Coalmine Kingdom to the royal mages who’d stayed behind. They were a solid, good-natured bunch, and I was grateful they had stepped up to take on the work. Honestly, with my pathetic mana reserves, they were far more efficient at the actual enchanting than I’d ever be. As the developer and lead in charge, I’d still handle the performance checks, but I no longer needed to show my face at the workshop every single day.
Next stop was the manufacturing work at the Canarias Convent. Even with the threat of Zil Meina looming, the formation of the Ddo-Buddy Economic Sphere² waited for no man. We had to keep the export goods flowing to the kingdoms of Coalmine and Sylvaol.
”Yeah, this is good. You’ve sorted them well. Tetra, you’re taking over the inspections starting next shift,” I noted.
”Ehehe, I worked so hard! I want you to praise me more!” Tetra chirped.
”Hey! Metra is working hard too! Next time I’m definitely going to pass-nano!” Metra nano insisted.
”Ugh… is this what it feels like to be ‘NTR-ed’? I don’t mind being the one who steals, but being the one replaced stings…” Netra muttered.
I was currently conducting inspection training for the triplet sisters-Sister Tetra, Metra, and Netra. Inspection work is the backbone of our shop’s quality guarantee; it’s our most vital task.
Previously, Sister Amelia and I handled it, and Tania took over after Amelia headed west. But with Tania’s pregnancy, we were staring down a serious labor shortage. I’d actually started training the sisters a while back, hoping they could eventually complete all the work themselves. Mother Shireen had already passed her certification. However, she is the overall supervisor, and it isn’t right to let the entire burden concentrate on one person. That was the purpose of the triplets’ training.
”As expected of Tetra, especially since you love the Ddo-Buddy so much. Even I might miss something if I tried to match your pace,” I said.
”Heh-heh! Tetra’s love for the Ddo-Buddy is the real deal!” she replied proudly.
”Hmph! Metra can work hard too if it’s the Slime-kun line!” Metra pouted.
”I’d love to let you do that, but in the end, we still haven’t succeeded in stabilizing Slime-kun using Sacred Arts³, have we?” I asked.
”We’re almost there! Once we are, Metra is going to make all the Slime-kun she wants-nano!” she nano shouted.
”Ugu, Netra is… Netra is…”
”Yeah, yeah, don’t start moping. Just do your best. I’ll give you a reward if you pass,” I told her.
”My heart skipped a beat! Maybe the shopkeeper prefers a weakened Netra?” she whispered to herself.
They have all developed their sexual preferences in various troublesome directions, but despite how they seem, the three of them work incredibly hard. Recently, other nuns have joined the team, but these veterans boast a production efficiency five to ten times that of the newcomers. Experience certainly plays a part, but more than that, their motivation is on a different level because they volunteered for this. They are an indispensable asset.
On top of that, like Amelia, they don’t receive wages; they only get a fixed allowance from the convent. Once things settle down, I’d like to reward them personally. Maybe a new product would be best?
”Master! Master! Look! I followed your advice and whipped up a brand-new product!” a voice called out.
”I told you, I’m not your Master…” I sighed.
”Oh, stop being so stiff! Never mind that-behold! Look at this!” Nina-Mailse Nina exclaimed.
Among the other members of the convent was Nina, a Sacred Artificer who called me Master without permission. She excitedly handed me her ‘new product.’ At a glance, it looked like an ordinary Ddo-Buddy, but…
”What on earth is this…?” I asked.
”I told you, it’s a new product! Try pressing the switch on the butt!” Nina urged.
”A switch type, huh? Let’s see… Whoa! It’s blinding!” I yelled.
When I pressed the switch as instructed, the Ddo-Buddy suddenly began to emit a powerful radiance. It wasn’t just a glow; it was a total lighthouse.
Okay, this was actually impressive. Luminescent Magic existed in this world, and Sacred Arts likely had a similar technique. However, making an ordinary-looking Ddo-Buddy glow like this involves significant hurdles, from material compatibility to the method of activation.
”How is it? Amazing, right?! I call it the ‘Shiny Ddo-Buddy’! I got the inspiration from the white light Master shot toward the heavens! This means you’ll finally accept me as your apprentice, right?!” Nina asked.
Nina brandished the glowing Ddo-Buddy in both hands, waving it around with a triumphant grin. The sight was surreal, but I was honestly impressed. However…
”I mean, it’s impressive, but Nina… would you actually want this?” I asked.
”Huh…?” Nina let out a blank sound.
She looked up at me with a dumbfounded expression, as if she had been asked an unthinkable question. As expected, she had just pushed forward because ‘it seemed interesting’ and hadn’t thought that far ahead.
”Don’t ‘huh’ me. If you were the customer, would you actually drop money on this? Is it fun to light up your own crotch?” I pressed.
”Ah, umm… there might be customers who would buy it! L-look, it glows divinely! For that very reason, the sisters of the Church of Demon-Subjugation might use it for… you know, ritualistic things!” Nina stammered.
Even though she was a Sacred Artificer for the Church of Demon-Subjugation herself, she talked about them like it was someone else’s business. Combined with her ‘subculture girl’ look, she looked like an art student who had lost her way by trying too hard to be different.
”Well, I guess it wouldn’t be bad for exhibitionist play. If there’s a partner, it seems suited for observing the private parts in high detail,” I mused.
”R-right! That’s exactly what I was thinking!” she agreed.
”Is it? In other words, you’re a total pervert who loves having her pussy observed with a glowing Ddo-Buddy,” I said flatly.
”Wha-?! No, th-that’s not how it is…” Nina protested.
”Is that so? Then you’re just an incompetent who gleefully proposes a new product she wouldn’t even use herself,” I countered.
”Eeeh?! No! That’s also wrong!” she cried.
”Well, it’s one or the other. You’re either a pervert or a hack. Which is it?” I asked.
”A-ah… auu… Aaaah!”
Nina stepped back, clutching her head as she struggled to find an excuse. However, a better explanation clearly failed to materialize.
I wouldn’t have even minded if she’d just argued she was meeting a niche market need. Tetra had been staring at the thing with sparkling eyes for a while, muttering about wanting to decorate her room with it. At anyrate, Nina gave up on making excuses and made up her mind. Clenching the glowing Ddo-Buddy in both hands, she shouted with all her might.
”FINE! YES! I AM A TOTAL PERVERT WHO LOVES HAVING HER PUSSY OBSERVED WITH A GLOWING DDO-BUDDY!!!!”
Nina’s face turned beet-red in an instant. Well said. Those were the words I wanted to hear.
”I see, I see. So Nina is a total pervert who loves having her pussy observed with a glowing Ddo-Buddy…” I repeated.
”Th-that’s right! I made it because I wanted it myself! Now you’ll recognize me as your apprentice, right?!” Nina demanded.
With teary eyes, she glared at me with an expression that said, ‘I’ve gone this far, you better make me your apprentice or I’ll never forgive you.’ It was a truly magnificent face of shame.
”But I refuse!” I declared.
”Wha-?! Why?! I just told you I wanted it!” she screamed.
”Lying is no good. Redo the assignment,” I told her.
”No way…!” Nina wailed.
Otherwise, there would be no meaning to the task I gave her. Nina had a tendency to only aim for my technical skills. I can’t possibly take someone as an apprentice unless they can truly love the shop’s products.
What? You’re asking if my goal was sexual harassment the whole time? Of course. The fact that that was 80%… no, let’s be honest, 90% of the reason was the absolute truth.

—
Behind the Scenes:
The chapter leans heavily into the ‘shame’ trope common in ecchi light novels, using a logical trap to force a character to admit to a fetish.

TL Notes:
Notes:
• Laika – The beastwoman dog.
• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
• Tetra – One of the triplets. Thick navy hair covering her eyes. Beautiful facial features.
• Metra – One of the triplets. Thick navy hair covering her eyes. Beautiful facial features.
• Netra – One of the triplets. Thick navy hair covering her eyes. Beautiful facial features. Shows interest in Kento.
• Shireen – A high-ranking nun at the convent who tends to modify product specifications on a whim.
• Amelia – The Sister of the Church of Demon-Subjugating, who usually buys from Kento, has light blue hair.
• Nina-Mailse – A Sacred Artificer from the Holy City. She has short violet hair and wears bottle-bottom glasses thick glasses that somehow look stylish. She is attached to the Saint.
