Chapter 281 The Holy Labor Corps ②
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Since then, the Demon-Subjugation Church’s “Holy Labor Corps”¹ continued their intermittent hunt of the monsters. Their momentum truly rivaled the legends of the ancient “Holy Labor Corps,” and the members felt their own faith and power surging.
Eventually, as dawn broke and the monster activity ebbed, they handled the cleanup and pressed forward. They hunted large monsters again, using them as bait to keep the momentum going. Naturally, their progress toward the west was slow, but the squad members were enveloped in a sense of euphoria.
The joy of participating in a “Purge Journey,” which had previously only existed in bedtime stories or textbooks, stoked their motivation to hunt. That high did not fade even after they arrived at the next town.
”I say, I never imagined this humble monk could become this strong!” one man shouted.
”Certainly, we can’t exactly celebrate a ‘Stampede’ disaster, but this experience is truly precious…” another added.
”Listen, just resting idly while we’re in town isn’t enough. I say we engage in some intense ‘training’…” a third suggested.
”Oh, good idea! Should we try out that ‘Support Cord’ from the Help Cord Nixfen territory we stopped at the other day?” the first asked.
”Hey, you lot! Mind your mouths! And don’t you dare ‘unsheathe’ it by mistake!” their leader barked.
As they finished their errands and meals in town and returned to the inn, it was only natural that the men would get worked up over the topic of “training.” Every head was filled with thoughts of the grueling discipline of “edging.” The women were no different.
”H-hmm, look at him. Even at a time like this, he doesn’t skip his ‘training.’ He’s dedicated… I-I suppose it can’t be helped, so maybe I should… go assist him?” one sister whispered.
”What?! S-stop it,” her friend replied. “Look at how bloodshot those guys’ eyes are. If you go in there, they’ll definitely ‘misfire’ on the spot!”
”B-but he got hurt protecting me the night before last. I have to check on his… condition,” the first sister insisted.
”Just stop! Look, I’ll lend you the special ‘Ddo-Buddy’² I bought for training! It’s the collaboration product with the Viscount Nixfen territory, the ‘Ddo-Buddy Support Cord Edition’! I’ll even lend you the ‘Nipple Support Ribbon’!” the friend offered.
”I-I get it already. Then I’ll just borrow those and endure with ‘Mutual Discipline’… as long as it’s not ‘Union Discipline,’ it should be fine. Probably. Likely. Maybe…” the first sister muttered.
”You don’t understand a thing, do you?! And don’t use my prized gear for that!” the friend snapped.
In the parlance of the Holy Labor Corps, “Mutual Discipline” referred to the act of displaying one’s m**urbation “training” to each other, while “Union Discipline” was s*x. It was a harsh, noble form of “play” that did not allow for climax.
Incidentally, records in the Church from the ancient “Holy Labor Corps” noted that after they achieved their goals and disbanded, the pregnancy rate among the female members was staggering. The “reward” for those who had overcome such hardships and asceticism together was just that liberating and passionate.
”Phew, it always ends up like this, doesn’t it? I suppose I’ll have to do a patrol later…” Mother Marian sighed. The captain of this “Holy Labor Corps,” Mother Marian, spoke while radiating a heavy, suggestive charm.
If Kento had been there, he likely would have been exasperated, thinking she sounded like a teacher on a school field trip, but the situation was not that innocent. Marian had a duty during this “Purge Journey” to train the squad members so they could withstand the “Stampede.” Even if they didn’t actually manage to defeat the source, “Zil Meina,” they had to at least become strong enough to wound it.
At the very least, Marian had steeled her resolve to ensure that.
It had been several hundred years since the Church lost its actual power and countries and nobles took its place. They had already nearly lost the authority to even dispatch a “Holy Labor Corps” in times of emergency. Therefore, while this dispatch sounded prestigious—”a gathering of those who worship the ancient traditions of the Demon-Subjugation Church”—it was actually a hodgepodge unit.
A unit with solid ability and rigorous discipline was something that could not be expected from the current Church. Many members were more devoted to the power struggles of the Holy Capital than to harsh “training” or “Purge Journeys.” What part of that was a “Demon-Subjugation” church? After their lives ended, could they truly hold their heads high before God? The answer was no.
Along with her resolve, Marian began consulting with the squad’s elites about the night patrol. There was the Holy Knight Kuroalmante, the Priest Samarefuoso, and the Martial Monk Katz. All of them were people who had been mocked as “outdated” in the shadows, yet had suppressed that mockery with their sheer strength.
”As I thought, it was the right move to separate the men’s and women’s quarters. They say the ancient ‘Holy Labor Corps’ didn’t make mistakes even when sleeping in mixed-gender groups, but…” Marian trailed off.
”We shouldn’t expect that level of asceticism from them. They are doing well. If they get through this, they will become a ‘Holy Labor Corps’ in both name and reality,” Samarefuoso said.
”Umu. I shall keep a sleepless watch between the men’s and women’s rooms tonight. I’ll leave the interior of each room to the rest of you,” Katz grunted.
”That’s a big help, Uncle Katz. Kuro and I will handle the women’s room. I’m sorry, but Samare, please handle the men’s room. If Kuro or I go in there, they’ll probably ‘misfire’ instantly…” Marian said with a wink.
The elite members gathered to perform a patrol and monitoring of… m**urbation.
Eventually, as they finished their consultation and returned to the inn, Marian noticed her prized disciple, Sister Amelia, was not with the other nuns but was offering prayers in the lounge.
”Oh, Amelia, aren’t you going to do any ‘training’ tonight?” Marian asked.
”Mother… No. I didn’t bring a ‘Ddo-Buddy’ with me this time, so…” Amelia replied quietly.
”Is that so? But you were so enthusiastic about ‘training’ before—the girl who even conquered that ‘Vibrating Ddo-Buddy’…” Marian teased.
Amelia was a girl introduced to Marian when she first arrived at the Canarias Convent. She was born in an ordinary village, but it had been attacked by monsters when she was young. Fortunately, her family survived, though her father was injured protecting her. However, with their village and fields devastated, life became unstable.
While her siblings went to find work elsewhere, she was almost sold into service or slavery before being taken in by the convent. At the time, Marian hadn’t intended to make her a nun. However, at some point, the girl began to take an interest in “training”—not the carnal kind, but the spiritual kind, offering prayers all night and tempering her body—and eventually requested to become Marian’s disciple.
From then on, she received Marian’s guidance with fervor… and eventually began the nightly “training” as well. In all aspects, Amelia became more immersed than Marian ever expected. She was an excellent disciple. That opinion hadn’t changed even after she started frequenting the magic circuit shop “Harvest.” If anything, she had gained a certain flexibility, making her a disciple whose growth was a joy to watch.
That was why Marian had brought her on this trip. She expected Amelia wouldn’t miss this chance for asceticism, but…
”…If I bring that out, I just end up thinking about Kento-san,” Amelia whispered.
”Oh, my…” Marian smiled. The girl who had been driven solely by a hatred for the monsters that tore her family apart was now acting like an ordinary girl her age. Marian couldn’t help but soften her expression.
”Hehe, I see. Even so, you’ve been clutching at your chest quite a bit, haven’t you?” Marian noted.
”Ah…! T-this is… no, it’s not like that!” Amelia stammered. Amelia hurriedly let go of her collar. Beneath it, the ring she had received from Kento hung from a chain. Marian didn’t know the story, but she had seen Amelia stroking it with a feverish look many times during the journey.
”It’s fine. Being separated from someone precious while striving for your faith… that is its own form of hardship and training. By the way, if you ever want to return to secular life, tell me immediately. I’ll kick the Archbishop’s rear and find you a great post anywhere you want,” Marian said warmly.
”I told you, it’s not like that!” Amelia cried out.
And so, until the other nuns finished their “training,” Amelia continued to be teased by Marian, who had come by under the guise of monitoring.

Summary:
The Holy Labor Corps continues its journey west, hunting monsters and maintaining a state of high s*xual tension through ‘training’ (edging). Mother Marian coordinates a night watch among the unit’s elites to monitor these activities. Amidst the chaos, Amelia quietly prays alone, struggling with her feelings for Kento.
—
Trivia:
- The ‘Holy Labor Corps’ is a pun on Holy Knight orders, emphasizing ‘Labor’ as a form of asceticism.
- The pregnancy rate of historical units was high because of the post-mission ‘release’.
- Marian’s unit is actually a ‘hodgepodge’ of outcasts and relics, not the Church’s best.
- Amelia carries a ring from Kento on a chain beneath her nun habit.
- The ‘Ddo-Buddy’ is a product from the ‘Harvest’ shop, indicating a commercial tie-in to the plot
—
Character Insight:
Amelia has transitioned from a girl fueled purely by trauma and revenge to one who experiences romantic longing, signaling significant emotional softening despite her strict training.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The author uses religious terminology (Seiroutai) as a vehicle for ecchi-comedy, a common trope in adult Isekai web novels.
—
TL Notes:
Notes:
• Nixfen – A viscount aristocrat who has started manufacturing and selling adult goods similar to Kento’s products in the Royal Capital’s pleasure district. He is described as a ‘pretty boy’ or ‘gentle-looking man’ (yasao) but is a territory-holding noble likely trained in combat.
• Marian – A ‘Mother’ and supervisor from the Church of Demon-Subjugation. Her appearance and demeanor defy the Church’s purported ‘chastity,’ instead she has wavy purple long hair, busty, black nun, tear mole under eye, and monroe walk. She has arrived with a clear purpose: to confront Kento about the ‘Devil’s Stick.
• Kento – The owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest,’ which discretely sells adult goods. He’s a former overworked, ordinary salaryman from modern Japan who was suddenly transported (isekai’d) to this fantasy world. He has dark hair and an unremarkable appearance, typically wearing a plain, slightly suspicious-looking shop owner’s clothes looks like Kazuma Satou from certain series. He has a minimal amount of magic power, enough to craft his specialty items.
• Kuroalmante – A Holy Knight; one of the elites in the hodgepodge unit.
• Samarefuoso – A Priest and strategic advisor for the unit’s night watches.
• Katz – A Martial Monk and veteran described as an ‘outdated’ relic with immense physical strength, older male and muscular build.
• Amelia – The Sister of the Church of Demon-Subjugating, who usually buys from Kento, has light blue hair.
