Chapter 374 Expansion Plan ①

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”Mmm… good morning…”

”Morning. You’re finally awake?” I asked.

It was the following day. Viscountess Ray Nixfen¹—the cross-dressing beauty—had woken up relatively early. I had been worried because she’d been quite reckless the night before, but aside from her blushing cheeks and the fact that she was completely naked under the duvet, she was the same as ever.

”Um… how was it…?” Ray whispered.

”Well, you certainly have a talent for it,” I replied. “I never expected you to rig up such heavy equipment with the Help Cord², let alone that I’d actually go along with it.”

”Ehehe… I’ve always been confident in my dexterity and my stamina,” she said with a humble shrug.

She was modest about it, but her beauty, her incredible body, her sheer loveliness, and – frankly – her libido were all top-tier. On top of that, as the head of a noble house, she had the pedigree, the brains, and the combat skills. She wasn’t just perfect; she was a miracle.

If she had been born a man, she would have been a fairy-tale prince. Lying here in bed next to me, however, she was simply a charming woman.

As I debated whether to say that out loud, she spoke up hesitantly.

”Is this… what they call ‘pillow talk’?”

”Hmm, in a broad sense, I suppose it is,” I said.

 ”I see. Ehehe…”

Whatever the reason for her joy, she smirked and snuggled closer. When I held her, she laughed happily again. If she keeps acting like this, I thought, my urges are going to wake up before the rest of the world does.

For the time being, I took the liberty of kneading her voluptuous chest – a stark contrast to her sharp, handsome face. Ray let out a soft, sharp gasp (Annn♡), but her shy smile didn’t waver. Taking advantage of the moment, I continued the conversation while enjoying the soft weight in my palms.

”You completely overwhelmed me last night…”

”Nn…♡ Um, don’t worry about my father,” Ray said. “Regardless of what happened, I can’t exactly go public with the fact that I’m a woman. It’s not like he can demand I take over the household as a traditional matriarch.”

Ray had been raised as a man to protect the family business – selling adult goods. It was a tactical necessity for negotiating with craftsmen and merchants, and it suited her duties as a noble. Since the succession would go to a male relative adopted from a branch family, there was no pressure for her to produce an heir.

 ”Even so…” I muttered.

I had thoroughly enjoyed the body of a precious only daughter, and I was currently fondling her as we spoke. To me, walking away from that responsibility wasn’t an option. I needed her help with the factory expansion, and there was a “proper order” to these things, so it wouldn’t happen immediately, but still…

”Look… I’ll handle the details. Just think about whether or not you actually want to have children someday,” I said.

 ”What?! Kento!?”

Feeling a bit embarrassed after making such a serious declaration, I pulled her head against my chest to hide my face. Ray mumbled into my skin for a while, but eventually grew quiet and let me stroke her hair.

”Now, about the business alliance,” I said, shifting gears.

 ”Right…”

”Like I mentioned in the letter, I need your help with the factory expansion. We’re targeting exports for the Ferguson Kingdom to the west and the maritime nation of Sylvaol to the south.”

”I understand,” Ray nodded. “I was worried about my father’s reaction, but after seeing him yesterday, I think that side of things will be fine.”

”I heard the old Viscount was retired, but does he still hold that much sway?”

”He usually stays out of the way. But the craftsmen trust him implicitly, and I still find myself leaning on him for the big decisions.”

I nodded. It was good to have someone reliable. Considering the expert advice Master Tail had given me regarding the molds, having someone like that overseeing a factory was a godsend. The only hurdle would be making sure they understood my obsessive quality control standards – though given the quality of our recent collaboration, I was inclined to trust them.

”Then there’s the matter of the staff,” I added. “We’ll need people who are willing to work hard, specifically those with an aptitude for magic.”

”That shouldn’t be a problem,” Ray said. “We never really used magic for our goods, so I never looked into it, but I can think of a few names. If we’re still short-handed, I can pull from the Mage Corps of the Lord’s Army. We just increased their numbers because of the Stampede³, so we can make it work.”

I felt a twinge of guilt for the mages who had volunteered to protect the realm from monsters only to end up mass-producing magical s*x toys, but I wasn’t about to turn down easy labor.

The conversation was moving so smoothly that I decided to push my luck. There was one more thing I wanted to ask, though I was prepared to handle it myself if she refused.

”By the way, Ray… are there any forests in the Nixfen territory where monsters thrive? Specifically somewhere dark and damp?”

”What? I mean, we have plenty of places like that, but why?”

”Well, I’ve been thinking… I want to see if we can start breeding a specific type of monster.”

 ”Breeding… monsters?!”

The relaxed atmosphere evaporated instantly. Ray sat up, peering into my face with a sharp, piercing gaze. It was a visceral, instinctive reaction – the reaction of someone born into a world where monsters were a constant, existential threat. Unlike me, who came from a world where monsters were fiction, the people here saw them as things to be eradicated.

”Calm down,” I said quickly. “I’m not trying to unleash a plague on the Nixfen lands.”

”I believe you… but why would you even suggest that?”

”You know we use monster materials in our products, right?”

”Yes. I saw the stock in the warehouse, and I remember hearing that your Master was the leading expert in monster material application.”

”Right. Well, the Pororo Snail we use for the ‘Tremble-Ddo-Buddy’ only live near the Royal Capital. If we ramp up production at the rate I’m planning, we’re going to hit a supply wall. I don’t want to hunt them into extinction.”

Ray remained silent, processing. To her, monsters were pests. But to me, they were a resource – one that followed the same biological rules as cattle or sheep.

”The Pororo Snail is harmless to humans,” I argued. “If we can create a managed habitat, we secure the supply chain and protect the local ecology. It’s a win-win.”

”Have you brought this up to Her Majesty? Or the Church?”

”Not yet. I’m just thinking ahead. But since the Queen and the Church both understand the profit margins on the ‘Tremble-Ddo-Buddy,’ I think they’ll listen.”

”You should start there,” Ray said softly. Then she looked at him with newfound wonder. “I thought I understood you, Kento, but you keep surprising me. Your imagination… it’s not just about magic circuits or sales tactics. Breeding monsters? Just how do you see this world?”

She lay back down beside him, reaching out to stroke his cheek. Caught off guard by the praise, I didn’t know how to respond, so I instinctively reached out and pinched her n**ips.

”Nn…♡ honestly…♡ Does this mean you want to go again?”

Ray’s eyes grew misty and heat-flushed. I hadn’t necessarily intended to start a second round, but looking at her like that, there was no stopping it.

The night before had been all about testing the “Help Cord.” As a man, I felt a sudden, fierce need to show her that my own potential could outperform any magical accessory.

I pushed her down onto the pillows, and Ray accepted me with a shy, eager smile. It was going to be quite a while before I finally left the room.

Notes:

• Nixfen – A viscount aristocrat who has started manufacturing and selling adult goods similar to Kento’s products in the Royal Capital’s pleasure district. He is described as a ‘pretty boy’ or ‘gentle-looking man’ (yasao) but is a territory-holding noble likely trained in combat.

• Ray – A Viscount with flaxen-gold hair in a men’s wolf cut. Possesses a sweet mask and a prince-like aura. It is revealed at the end that Ray is actually a woman. She has started manufacturing and selling adult goods similar to Kento’s products in the Royal Capital’s pleasure district.

• Soi – An old professor from Ajire seminary, the first to raise a question. Looks like wizardly.

• Kento – The owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest,’ which discretely sells adult goods. He’s a former overworked, ordinary salaryman from modern Japan who was suddenly transported (isekai’d) to this fantasy world. He has dark hair and an unremarkable appearance, typically wearing a plain, slightly suspicious-looking shop owner’s clothes looks like Kazuma Satou from certain series. He has a minimal amount of magic power, enough to craft his specialty items.

• Tail – Former Viscount Nixfen and Ray’s father. A master craftsman with rugged, calloused, and scarred hands. Stern expression, socially awkward, and proud of his family’s ‘specialized’ trade.
