Chapter 426 Welcome Home ②
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Good grief, is it finally my turn?” Kushe asked.
”Yeah. Sorry to keep you waiting,” I replied.
It was a “Welcome Home Party” of sorts with Satsuki, Kushe, and Amelia. After clinging to me for what felt like forever, Satsuki finally seemed satisfied and flopped onto the bed. That was the cue for Kushe to slide in close.
”Well, we did agree that Satsuki would go first,” Kushe said. “Though, I’m sure she’s still far from satisfied, so you’d better dote on her properly later while you catch up. Even from my perspective, Satsuki earned herself an extra-large reward. Don’t you think so, Amelia?”
”Yes! Satsuki-san¹ was truly incredible,” Amelia replied. “Even when she was exhausted, she kept unleashing the Ddo-Buddy Cannon²… though if we’re being honest, so did Kushe and Marsetta.”
I’d heard a bit about it during the ceremony. Apparently, in the final stretch, they had mowed down the enemy by swinging those Ddo-Buddy Cannons like mad. The overworked barrels got so hot they actually suffered burns while fighting.
They really went overboard. I don’t know if there will be a next time, but I should probably design a cooling system just in case. With those thoughts drifting through my mind, I stroked Satsuki’s head and back as she lay there twitching in the afterglow of her climax, praising her for her hard-fought victory.
”So, is it okay if Kushe is next?” I asked.
”Yes,” Amelia said. “I already got a bit of a head start earlier this afternoon, after all.”
”Alright, I get it,” I said, turning to the woman beside me. “So, Kushe, what kind of reward are you looking for?”
”Nn… hmmm… well, you see…” Kushe stammered.
She was uncharacteristically hesitant. That was a surprise. Given her personality, I expected her to be a slave to her desires, barking out one demand after another.
”Can I… put it in for now?” Kushe asked suddenly.
”Whoa, just like that? Well, I don’t mind, but-“
”My apologies. Upsy-daisy…” Kushe muttered.
With zero grace, she let out a little grunt and sat herself down on my lap. She must have gotten wet just watching me with Satsuki; she slid on easily, but the whole thing felt… light, for lack of a better word.
”Haaaaaaaa…” Kushe let out a long, deep breath.
Her body trembling in tiny shivers. Apparently, she had just been holding it all in. Her heat clamped down tight, her internal walls clinging snugly to my Ddo-Buddy with every pulse.
Still, it felt off. She usually moves at her own pace, governed by her own whims. She’s not the type to practice self-restraint. Had the journey to slay those two Great Dragons changed her perspective that much?
Well, whatever. I pulled her slender frame closer as she sat on my lap, slowly grinding my hips. I worked to let my Ddo-Buddy settle in, searching for that perfect, comfortable sweet spot.
”Nn… ahhh… Haa, haaaa…” Kushe gasped, her breath hitching.
She stayed passive, continuing those deep breaths and letting me do as I pleased. She hooked her arms around my neck, seemingly focused entirely on just keeping her breathing steady. Definitely not like her.
”Kushe?” I whispered.
”Ngh… what is it? I’m… I’m savoring this right now,” she replied.
”No, you’re acting weird,” I said. “Usually, if you’ve got something to say, you just say it, right?”
”Hmm. Isn’t it normal for me to be a little weird?” she teased.
She clearly had no intention of letting me in. Kushe just nuzzled against me, playing dumb while she drifted in a haze of pleasure. It was strangely adorable, and it felt amazing, but it was throwing me off my rhythm. Knowing her, it wasn’t jealousy or some lingering resentment, but…
”Kento-san… um…” Amelia interjected softly.
”Hm? Amelia, do you know what’s up?” I asked.
”…Honestly, I think it’s a bit rude to talk to another woman over the shoulder of the one you’re currently holding,” Kushe said, her voice tight.
”See? You are being weird,” I said. “Were you really the type to say things like that?”
”I’m sorry,” Amelia whispered. “Kushe really wants Kento-san to notice on his own, so I’ll stay quiet.”
”Ah-“
Truth be told, I did have an idea. In fact, I’d been looking for the right timing myself, but I never expected Kushe to react this way. I guess she really is just a girl after all. The thought made me want to tease her, but I wasn’t sure if that would be crossing a line.
”You don’t have to worry, you know?” I said. “I have it ready.”
Kushe flinched. “I-I wasn’t worried about anything!”
”It was a promise, right?” I asked.
”W-was it? Well, I suppose I was just… testing to see if you remembered. Something like that,” she said, her voice regaining some of its usual spark.
The end of her sentence had a definite lilt to it, and she buried her face in my neck, rubbing her cheek against me. I wanted to see her face. I was certain she was wearing a rare, bright red blush.
Unfortunately, she was determined to prevent that, refusing to pull away. The more she acted shy like this, the more I wanted to bully her a little-though I couldn’t tell if she realized that or not. Probably not.
”Were you sulking?” I teased.
”I was not!”
”You’re pretty cute, you know that?”
”I-I’m not cute!”
”You just didn’t want to admit it, right?” I pressed. “That you wanted a ring, too?”
Kushe reached her limit. She bit down hard on my shoulder, her face still buried in my neck. It didn’t hurt, but it was plenty of force to signal her frustration. I stroked the line of her spine and pressed my lower half up into her, over and over.
”Ugh, upsy-daisy,” I said, echoing her earlier grunt.
I stood up while still holding her. Startled by the sudden lift, she clung to me even tighter. I stepped off the bed and walked over to the laboratory shelf, opening the drawer where I kept my most important things. Once I had what I was looking for, I headed back to the bed.
It was a short trip, but with every step, our slickest parts rubbed together, and I felt myself thudding into her depths. Kushe stayed silent in my arms. I could feel her body temperature climbing, her insides growing wetter and more restless by the second.
”Now then, I can’t exactly give this to you if you stay in this position, can I?” I asked.
”W-wait a second…” she whispered.
”Kushe.”
”Wh-what?”
”Welcome home,” I said.
”You… you’re really something…” she breathed.
As we settled back down, I felt the tension finally drain out of her. I explored her body with my hands, kissed her neck, and took her earlobe into my mouth. We enjoyed the friction of skin on skin, sharing the mounting pleasure as we ground against one another.
”Haa… Haa…”
When she finally let me see her face, she was glaring at me with an expression that was completely overwhelmed. I couldn’t tell if she was red from embarrassment or sheer arousal, but it was probably a healthy mix of both.
”Would you have preferred to do this somewhere other than the bed?” I asked.
”I don’t really care about the ‘where,’ but…” she trailed off.
”I see. Well then, let me see your hand.”
I took her left hand and kissed the back of it. I cradled it in both of mine, nuzzling it before kissing it again. I could feel her tighten around me with every touch.
”I was properly worried about you, too, Kushe. Truly,” I said.
”……”
”I’m just glad you made it back safe.”
”……”
”Will you accept this… like I promised?” I asked.
She accepted my words in silence, and when I asked the final question, she simply gave a quiet nod. I whispered a “thank you” and opened the small box I’d brought from the drawer. Inside was a ring-identical to the ones I’d given the others.
”Whenever you look at this, I want you to know I’m saying ‘I love you,’” I said.
Kushe gasped, her eyes wide. Reverently, I slid it onto her ring finger. She didn’t say a word; she just nodded again and stared fixedly at the ring. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her this still.
”…You okay?” I asked.
”…No, I’m not,” she whispered.
”Huh?”
”I’m not going to stop… so you’d better be ready,” she said, her voice dropping into a sultry growl.
Kushe pounced on me, smothering me in a deep, hungry kiss. In the end, the festivities with her turned out to be every bit as intense as they had been with Satsuki.”

Summary:
Following the dragon-slaying mission, Kento rewards Satsuki and then moves on to Kushe. Kushe shows uncharacteristic shyness and jealousy, leading Kento to realize she wanted the same commitment as the others. He gifts her a matching ring while they are in the heat of passion, solidifying their bond.
—
Trivia:
- The girls suffered physical burns from the friction/heat of using the magic cannons in the previous battle.
- Amelia already had a ‘head start’ session with Kento earlier that day.
- Kushe’s unusual behavior was a direct result of wanting the ring that Kento had already given to Satsuki and others.
- The walk to the drawer was a deliberate moment where they remained physically joined while moving
—
Character Insight:
Kushe shows a softer, more possessive side that contradicts her usual straightforward and detached persona. Kento demonstrates emotional maturity by recognizing her unspoken needs and validating her importance with the ring.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The author uses the ‘Ddo-Buddy Cannon’ as a recurring gag that highlights the absurdity of the magic shop’s inventory even in serious combat situations.

TL Notes:
Notes:
• Kushe – Chief Mage of the Coalmine Kingdom—a blunt, mischievous court mage and Kento’s companion. Dark green hair worn haphazardly under a loose robe, she’s assertive, knee-complaining, and leaks secrets to push things forward.
• Satsuki – Miranda’s granddaughter—a talented court mage with long black hair, staff, and palace robes. Prickly tsundere companion of Kento who fought in the dragon subjugation. Now humiliated yet fulfilled as Harvest’s new worker, her research thrives under his guidance while she whispers romantic tips to Amelia.
• Amelia – A light blue-haired Sister of the Church of Demon-Subjugating and Kento’s shy harem member. A newly awakened “Saint” from Holy Sleep, modest and easily embarrassed with red ears and neck. Wears her habit and treasures Kento’s ring on a necklace.
• Marsetta – A senior court mage and specialist in magical weaponry. She has disheveled hair tied back, wears glasses, and has deep dark circles under her eyes from lack of sleep. She hasn’t eaten in two days and is under heavy pressure to find a countermeasure for the enemy’s weapons.
• Kento – Lord Harvest—the unassuming owner of the Harvest magic tool shop (with a discreet adult goods side). An isekai’d Japanese salaryman resembling Kazuma Satou, with dark hair and basic magic for crafting. Recently triumphed over a Great Dragon; now juggles his harem, tinkering, and ties to Amelia and the Queen at Ddo-Buddy Manor.
