Chapter 540 Leading One Guest ③
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Then, I’ll give the wives a proper greeting, too…”
Nada-san, our guest from the Southern Continent, had finally seen her fill of my magic circuit shop, “Harvest,” and seemed satisfied enough to move on. Now, it was time to lead her over to the “Ddo-Buddy Palace.”
I had a sneaking suspicion that letting a guest see the inner workings of that particular building might lead to a few awkward questions, but, well, it’d probably be fine. Might as well take the opportunity to clear up that nagging curiosity of mine.
”Tell me, in your neck of the woods, do men often take multiple wives?” I asked, keeping my tone casual.
Nada-san paused, looking thoughtful. “Eh? Ah, the answer is that it depends on the place, really. Some countries are dead-set against it, and others think it’s the way to go.”
”I see. And what about your… tribe, Nada-san?”
She looked a bit bashful, covering her mouth with her hand as she answered. “…I’ve left my tribe behind, you see. It’s rare to see under my master’s rule, but not forbidden. Back in my original tribe… let’s just say it’s strongly encouraged.”
”Oh, I see. That’s an educational experience.”
Yes, I did not have any ulterior motives! It is just that, well, you know? Being told that by someone who covered her mouth with her hand, looking slightly embarrassed, it would be impossible not to feel a surge of emotion.
Now, since “Ddo-Buddy Palace” was right next door, we did not have to walk very far. She quickly returned to her usual expression and looked up at the exterior of the “Palace.”
”It is indeed large. If a house of this size can be built, there are high expectations for the business.”
”I am grateful to hear you say that,” I said. “When this was built, trade with Wielope—the largest country on the Northern Continent—had not yet begun, and I think that if I were to build it now, I could make it even larger.”
”Ho, that is amazing…”
”Just wait until the ‘Super Ddo-Buddy Trade Zone’ really kicks off,” I added. “If we can start shipping to the entire Southern Continent, it’ll be a whole new level.”
”…Ah, I’ll be sure to tell my master exactly that.”
The change in her eyes was like night and day. I’d never guessed the “Ddo-Buddy Palace” would actually be a power player in business negotiations. I owe a lot to Queen Your/His/Her Majesty for helping me put the place together.
”Right, this way, please.”
”Ah, thank you,” she replied.
We headed for the front entrance. I could’ve used the service door, but I wanted her to get the full experience from the front. But then…
”””Hum-ma-ma-a-res-sa-ma, Oo-ga-ne-ma-la-a-res-sa-ma–“””
”””Woof! Wan-wan, Woof!”””
Nada-san frowned. “…Excuse me, what on earth is that?”
”I am so sorry,” I said, rubbing the back of my neck. “That’s the ‘Blessing of the Forest’ and the ‘Dog-Beastman Feast’…”
Out in the garden, right in front of that bizarre shrine I’d built, a group of Elves and Dog-Beastmen were going through some kind of wild song and dance. I’d let it slide before because I didn’t feel like playing referee.
Now, though, I realized they’d built a second shrine right next to the one for my boy, Wakaba-kun, this one for my daughter, Mikan-chan. Since then, there were worshippers (?) showing up daily, and every so often, they’d throw a ceremony like this.
”Hiebel,” I called out, moving toward them, “we’ve got a guest. Could you give us some room?”
Hiebel, an Ancient Elf who’d basically made himself the village elder, looked over. “Oh, if it isn’t Wakaba-kun’s papa! Come on, you should join in yourself for once.”
”No, I really can’t…”
”Heh, heh, heh,” a voice barked. It was Slop-shi, my love-dog Laika-chan’s father. “These Elves are poorly trained, but us? We know how to ‘stay,’ you know!”
”Father-in-law, what about your new hunting grounds?” I asked.
”Left it to the youngsters. More importantly, Mikan-sama needs our devotion!”
I tried to keep the peace, but neither of them seemed ready to stop. And to make matters worse, they were already prepping a spot for Momo-chan’s shrine, too. Flearis-dono had let it slip in a letter to her husband, Martin, and he’d gone full tilt: “What are you doing? Hurry up and enshrine Momo-sama as well!”
He couldn’t visit until the spring thaw, but he expected it to be ready by the time he arrived. I just threw my hands up. Do whatever you want, guys.
”Sorry, Nada-san, everyone,” I said, gesturing past the group. “There’s no real danger, so please just walk through the middle.”
”I, I understand. …Are those Elves and Beastmen?”
”Yeah. My wives include both, and those are their relatives. They just get a bit carried away when a new child comes along…”
”I see…. So, even your Elves and Beastmen are pale-skinned…”
”Wait, does that mean…”
”Ah. We have Elves and Beastmen on the Southern Continent, too, but they have black skin, just like mine.”
Dark Elves! And dark Beastmen too? I nearly lost my mind on the spot. I wanted to jump in and start dancing with Hiebel’s crew, but I had to keep my cool for Nada-san’s sake. It was a damn shame I couldn’t visit the Southern Continent to meet them myself, but if my goods really did start selling like wildfire, maybe they’d come on a pilgrimage here…
”However,” Nada-san continued, “between Flearis-dono, her sister, and these Elves and Beastmen… to take four wives? Lord Harvest, you are a bold man. In my tribe, someone like you would be honored as a ‘Zikou’.”
”Eh? Ah, no, it’s not just four… there are actually quite a few more. It’s complicated, but I think it’s… nine? Maybe ten?”
”Ha?”
Nada-san looked like she’d seen a ghost. I figured showing was better than telling, so I led her inside. I called out, and almost instantly, I heard those angelic voices answering back.
”Papa!!!”
”Momo!!!”
Momo, who’d just started walking well, came toddling toward the entrance, likely having picked up my scent. I barely had my shoes off before I scooped her up and rubbed my cheek against hers. Mutual love—it’s the best sound in the world.
”Welcome home, Master. Do we have a guest?” Lily-san asked, walking over.
”Yeah, just a guest from the Southern Continent I mentioned. Though, Lily, should you be walking around?”
”Oh, you worry way too much,” she laughed.
”Everyone,” I said to our guests, “we don’t wear shoes inside, so please leave them there. There are slippers if you need them.”
Nada-san, Schueri-joshi, and General Mamache were all dumbfounded, but I wasn’t about to hide my family affection just for the sake of appearances. It’s part of who I am.
I guided them toward the parlor, making sure to keep an eye on Lily, who was currently expecting. Inside, Tania-chan was relaxing with Wakaba-kun, Laika-chan was with Mikan-chan, and Satsuki-sama was hanging out with our resident Saint, Amelia-sama.
”Sorry to interrupt, everyone. Our guest wanted to say hello. Oh, Amelia, you’re here too?”
”Yes, my morning sickness has started, so I was hoping to get some advice…”
I told everyone to make themselves at home, though it was clear that didn’t help the guests settle down much. General Mamache looked particularly flustered.
”…Wait, are they all your wives? And are some of them… carrying children?”
”Yeah, that’s right.”
”Forgive me,” he said, turning on his heel. “I clearly shouldn’t have entered this room.”
He had a good sense for when to clear out, at least. He slipped out, though I imagine the spectacle in the garden would keep him busy enough. Nada-san stood there, quietly mumbling to herself.
”‘Zikou’ wasn’t right… it seems he’s a ‘Serrao’…”
I have no idea what that means, but I’m pretty sure it’s a compliment. Probably. Maybe.

Wearing a tattered academic coat, he wields low-mana circuits to command Academy systems. He maintains a reputation for brand trust and has a complex personal life with multiple lovers, slaves, and children.
• Nada – A tall, slender Southern Continent envoy, adjutant, and guest visiting the kingdom with a royal delegation. She has dark skin, glossy black hair, sharp almond eyes, and a powerful perspective. She is highly knowledgeable about trade, administration, monsters, and sand-based geography, and is currently exploring Canarias.
• Wakaba – Newborn son of Kento and Tania. A half-elf magic user with large Mana Circuits. Has squishy cheeks, tiny fingers, and soft floppy ears. Emits magical discharges when throwing tantrums. The newborn son of Kento and Tania. Has green hair and elf ears.

• Hiebel – An elder Elf among the reinforcements. Tall, looks deceptively young but speaks with the weight of centuries.
• Laika – A love‑dog beast‑man with shaggy brown fur, amber eyes and a scar across his snout, clad in a weathered leather coat. Sharp, wild instincts define her; she’s the younger sister of Tania, an A‑rank adventurer and devoted mother who calls her companion ‘Dildo‑Buddy’ George.
• Slop – Leader of the hound-kin pack; Laika’s father. Has orange hair and fluffy tail.
• Flearis – A pale, pink-haired woman serving as a diplomatic envoy, guard, shopkeeper, and liaison with the Coalmine Kingdom. She belongs to a covert unit and is the protagonist’s relative—specifically Lily’s sister or Martin’s younger foster sister. She displays a cold, almost vengeful pragmatism, particularly when reporting her sister’s words to Martin.
• Martin – Lily’s non-blood-related younger brother. Considered the strongest candidate to succeed the Popol family due to his lineage and manifested ‘power. He has pink hair.
• Momo – Pink-haired toddler, daughter of Jin and Lily, inherits her father’s ear and eyebrow shape; exceptionally cute, energetic, and affectionate. At one year old, she can stand, babbles simple words, and delights in learning to walk through the garden. As the shopkeeper’s eldest child and one of the protagonist’s offspring, she was celebrated with a cherished birth gift a year ago.
• Master – Owner of an isekai magic shop specializing in adult goods. Currently performing a ‘resurrection’ on a damaged item.

• Mamache – A large-framed, bronze-skinned general from the Kingdom of Sylvaol, he accompanies a guest from the Southern Continent. A stern tactician and Nada-dono’s guard, his formal military uniform is laden with medals. Though capable, he is easily bewildered by modern trends. Currently, he is desperately seeking a solution to his marital issues, deeply troubled by his wife’s relationship with a succubus.
• Schueri – An elegant, slender Sylvaol diplomat with white skin and shoulder-length hair, she serves as Nada’s lead retainer. Formerly a royal instructor with deep knowledge of the palace and Coalmine Kingdom, she brings an intelligent demeanor to her role as a mediator, interpreter, and logistics manager. Fluent in continental and Southern languages, she hides a secret curiosity for adult merchandise.
• Satsuki – Long‑haired court mage in staff‑and‑robes, Miranda’s granddaughter and ex‑top Academy student, lives alone as a prickly tsundere companion to Kento and now a Harvest worker. She tutors the modest, easily embarrassed Love‑Mage protagonist, aids research and Dildo‑Buddy prototype design, and is friend of pregnant Amelia. As the Master’s Love‑Mage, she observes basement lab progress and reveals the client’s identity.
• Amelia – Light‑blue‑haired Sister of the Canarias convent, once shy and saintly, now pregnant and still wearing Kento’s ring on her left finger. Her blushes linger, ears and neck tinted red, voluptuous in habit. She runs soup kitchens and shop stock, once sought conception for faith, now the only sister who visited the protagonist for that sacred purpose, her devotion unchanged. A figure from his past, noted for being someone he could ‘bed’ despite her nature.
• Tania – An elven love‑elf, older sister of Laika and mother of son Wakaba, rejects her race’s low‑desire image with passionate, easily embarrassed charm. She wears light armor over a simple tunic and short pants, exuding grace. Senior‑junior to Raika, she’s a seasoned Harvest shopper buying pleasure items while keeping a dignified façade, and also helps tend the garden, selecting medicinal herbs and emergency rations.
