Volume 2 Chapter 9 The Final Episode:Talking About Dreams

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

With the news of Ellulu’s safety, NatsuFuyu, along with everyone in the fashion department, let out a sigh of relief, but the buzz online was something else entirely.

Tomori had accidentally exposed herself to the whole world, but for some reason, it seemed like a fan club had formed around her.

Although the final wedding dress couldn’t be showcased, they decided to focus on the pieces presented in this show and work hard for the upcoming fashion contest.

About a week later, Mr. George, who had reported the situation regarding Stanford to the general, returned to the Kashiwagi household.

The U.S. military was still continuing the manhunt for Stanford, but it seemed they could leave it alone for now since he was still missing.

Mr. George was sitting with Yuuta’s father, both of them having a few drinks and in high spirits.

”Well, so your mission is over, huh? You’re heading back to the base in Okinawa… It was a short time, but it felt like my son was back home. Maybe I should visit Okinawa sometime. I never really thought about it before. Right, Mom?”

 Aunt nodded in agreement.

”Yes, please do come! I’ll show you around… So, Mr. Kashiwagi, I have a question… Does Ms. Tomori have a boyfriend or anything?”

”Uh? Well, it seems my son has been turned down, so I don’t think she does… Ah, Mr. George, could it be that…?”

”Ah, um… I was thinking, if Ms. Tomori is okay with it, maybe we could go out together…”

”Haha, see that? TomTom, what are you gonna do?”

 ”U-uncle…”

Tomori turned bright red and stumbled over her words.

”What do you think, Ms. Tomori? I’ve really enjoyed the short time I spent with you. Ah, I’m not saying you have to come to Okinawa. I’m fine with starting from chatting on RINE or email and meeting up occasionally…”

Maybe it was the alcohol, but Mr. George was more talkative than usual today.

”Yeah… there are still fashion contests and I can’t just leave Ellulu hanging… I can’t go all the way to Okinawa with you, but if you’re okay with a long-distance relationship, then I have no reason to refuse…”

”Alright! That’s settled then. Mom, 2 more beers! Hey, TomTom, come drink with us! EllEll, you can join us too, even if it’s just barley tea!”

The uncle was in a great mood, having a blast.

 And that night.

Tomori had drunk quite a bit and had a headache, but she was so happy about George confessing to her that she couldn’t stop feeling excited.

(Serves you right, Yuuta. Mom… I caught myself a handsome guy!)

”Hey, Tomori. Sorry to interrupt your good mood, but can I talk to you for a sec…”

 Ellulu approached Tomori.

”Huh? What is it, Ellulu? We still have the pattern for the wedding dress, so I think we can redo it before the contest.”

”That’s not it… I was thinking of going back home.”

 ”…Huh?”

* * *

””Wait! Ms. Ellulu, you’re going back to your country?!””

 NatsuFuyu was shocked.

”Yeah, I think after what happened the other day, I got a bit worn out… I guess I started feeling homesick.”

 Tomori explained.

Well, that’s partly true, but it’s a bit different from the reasons Ellulu shared.

She said that you don’t need qualifications or exams to be a designer… and coming here, she truly understood that.

And it seems she remembered that she actually wanted to design for the people back in her world.

She feels like she still has a lot to learn and practice, and while she’s interested in the contest, if her main focus is to enjoy designing, she thinks she could do that back in her hometown too.

She also mentioned that she was worried about being a burden to uncle, aunt, and friends. With her follower count skyrocketing to 3 million, if she kept going like this, there’s no telling how the media might twist things, and weird stalkers could pop up, putting her in a tough spot.

 …Maybe it’s time to go.

”Well, even if you go back to your country, we can still work together while chatting online, right?”

 Mifuyu pressed on.

”Hmm. But that might be tough. They’re not really into that kind of stuff at all…”

”Then how about the fashion contest? We’ve worked so hard together until now…”

 Natsumi wouldn’t back down either.

”Well, since it’s a team event, if everyone continues, I won’t complain if you use my designs. But, you know, there’s a reason for this, and I think this will probably be the last time I get to meet everyone. But I want to go back home and do my best, so I’d appreciate your support.”

 ”I see… If that’s what you want… then I guess there’s no helping it.”

 One evening in July.

In the Sakura family’s backyard, Tomori and the uncle and aunt gathered to see Ellulu off as she was about to enter the gate.

”EllEll. You don’t have to rush home like this…”

The aunt hugged Ellulu, crying as she spoke.

”I’m sorry, Mom. Once I decide on something, I can be pretty impatient…

And thank you for the big travel bag, Dad. I’ll make sure to deliver the souvenirs for Yuuta and Ms. Akari… and the present for Karin too.”

There wasn’t a photo of Karin, but Ellulu had drawn a portrait and handed it to the uncle.

The travel bag was packed with fashion materials and textbooks, and Ellulu herself was carrying a dress form on her back. Can she really get through the gate like this?

”Alright, let’s take a commemorative photo together.”

Uncle said, setting up a tripod, and they took turns snapping pictures of the 4 of them with their smartphones.

”Ellulu. I’ve put a solar charger in this bag, so make sure to show Yuuta and my mom the latest photos. Tell them everyone is doing well. I’ve packed a bunch of other stuff too, but I think Yuuta knows how to use everything.”

”Thanks, Tomori… Hey, Tomori. Why don’t you come with me?”

”What are you talking about? I just used the tag for Stanford the other day, and I only have today’s for you. Plus, I have Mr. George with me…”

”Thanks for the meal… I’ll make sure to tell the two of them about him. I hope Tomori finds happiness too.”

 ”Yeah, that’s the plan.”

With that, Ellulu waved goodbye and walked through the gate.

Three days after Ellulu entered the gate, the final Zerlant Communication began.

However, Ellulu did not appear. NatsuFuyu informed the viewers that Ellulu had returned to her hometown for personal reasons, and that this would be the last episode of Zerlant Communication.

Finally, a letter from Ellulu was read aloud.

’In my world, not everyone could freely pursue what they wanted to do.

I wanted to be a fashion designer, but only Elves could take the designer exam. But my husband told me,

”Do you really need qualifications and exams to become a designer?”

At first, I didn’t understand what he meant, but coming to this world made it clear.

Here, anyone can strive for what they want to be. If you work hard, everyone will support you. This world is truly wonderful.

I still have a lot to learn and practice, but I plan to take what I’ve learned here back to my world and encourage everyone there to aim for what they want to be.

I don’t think I’ll meet you all again, but the memories I have with you are treasures I’ll cherish for life.

Please keep working hard towards your dreams.

 Ellulu’

The reactions online were overwhelming, and the Ellulu loss lingered for quite a while.

Some speculated that the shock was from losing the main star of the show, while others thought it was probably because of the resolution with the First Lady.

There were even those who believed she really had returned to another world. Yeah, that’s right!

※※Ms. Ellulu gave me strength. I’m going to try to become a novelist again!

※※I realized that just being able to go to a school I like makes me happy.

※※Even in that world, Ms. Ellulu will get along well with many people.

Tomori felt happy seeing comments about how Ellulu had given people strength and encouragement. It’s not just these people.

Uncle and aunt, the students, and me too…

 Yuuta.

Your third wife blew through like the wind in just a little over a year…

When she comes back, make sure to treat her well.

 I’m… already okay now…
