’Kashiwagi Manor Alchemy Club Annual Report’ This is definitely it… Yeah. That’s right!
”Ms. Beyond. Please! Call the head of the Alchemy Club here!”

*Sharlin the dark elf’s perspective
”Ms. Sharlin. It looks like it’s going to rain.”
The head of the Alchemy Club.
Mr. Yoruku spoke to me like that.
”That’s true. I hope it holds off until evening so we can get into the post town.”
Mr. Yoruku and I are heading to Kashiwagi Manor in a fast horse-drawn carriage.
Mr. Yoruku is going to discuss the queen’s proposal with Lady Melon, and I’m his bodyguard.
The restoration work of the gate has been budget-restricted by the council and set a 6-month deadline.
When the two who went over there gave up, Queen Asuka thought the skills of the people at Kashiwagi Manor might help, and summoned Mr. Yoruku.
In Mr. Yoruku’s hand was the report from Lady Melon delivered after the annual report, and upon seeing its contents, the queen sent us to Lady Melon with a glimmer of hope.
Upon arriving at Kashiwagi Manor, we first went to the lord’s residence.
We have brought a letter from Queen Asuka to Lord Sir Aaron.
The last time I met this person was during that siege of the royal castle in the Royal Capital, when I pressed a blade to his throat.
After reading the queen’s letter, Sir Aaron called for Ms. Akari.
”Ms. Sharlin. It’s been a while.”
That being said, the pair also seemed to be in a bad mood.
”Akari. The senate president has asked you two to submit a formal marriage certificate. And because it has been more than a year and a half since Yuuta and Lady Claudel were lost, they are scaling back the scale of research into restoring the gate.”
Upon hearing my words, the pair’s face turned pale.
”Then Sir Aaron. I guess Yuuta and I are already…”
”I don’t understand. But it seems Asuka hasn’t given up hope yet. This time, Lord Yoruku has come to discuss with Melon if they can collaborate on the technology here for Sistemador.”
”Ah…yes. But MelMel…”
The pair seems hesitant and trails off.
”Has something happened to Lady Melon?”
Sir Aaron answered my puzzled question.
”Melon is suffering from mental health issues.”
And I learned about the incident that had affected Lady Melon, which hadn’t reached the Royal Capital.
”No way…does that mean Lady Melon is in shock from a stillbirth…?”
”That’s right. Karin is taking care of her at home, but… she’s in a severe depressive state.”
The pair looked sad.
”However, since Lord Yoruku has come from the Royal Capital, there might be a change in her condition. Perhaps you should meet her.”
Following Sir Aaron’s advice, I was guided by the pair to the mansion where Melon and Karin lived, but I was even more shocked after hearing about Karin’s right arm on the way.
As we entered the house, a girl was diligently preparing dinner with one arm.
”Oh. Mom. Who is that?”
”This is Mr. Yoruku, the team leader of the alchemy group that came from the Royal Capital, and Ms. Sharlin, his bodyguard. They’ve come to see Big Sister Melon.”
”Oh. I remember that Elf. She came with Big Sister Melon. And this is…”
I couldn’t bear it any longer, so I ran up to Karin and hugged her tightly.
”I’m Sharlin. But don’t you remember? When you were a baby, we traveled together from Tokura Village to the Royal Capital! “
”Oh, that was a long time ago. But I’ve met you a few times since then at Royal Capital. I feel like I’ve seen your face a little before.”
”I see… I see…”
……
”Hmm. So, the queen wants to borrow Big Sister Melon’s power to rescue Dad… Got it. I’ll talk to her a bit first. Everyone, wait here.”
Saying that, Karin entered the inner room.
Five minutes… ten minutes… I’ve heard that talking to someone with depression is tough.
How much can a child like Karin actually communicate?
Just as I thought that, the door suddenly flew open.
”Mama Akari!! Chief Yoruku! Wait, is that really Ms. Sharlin?”
Incredibly, Lady Melon burst out with tremendous energy.
”Ah, MelMel. Are you okay?”
The pair was worried, but Lady Melon’s expression was not that of someone depressed.
”I’m fine… Mama Akari. I’ve lived until today to help Yuuta! I need to help Yuuta, meet again… and apologize properly…”
”MelMel…”
The pair gently embraced Lady Melon.
