”So, Karin went to greet the queen directly.”
Big Sis El (Ellulu) spoke to me.
Upon arriving in the Royal Capital, I immediately met with the queen alongside my superior, Baron Tethyrkan, and explained our journey from Kashiwagi Manor to here.
After that, Ms. Sharlin entered the audience chamber with Karin and introduced her to the queen.
Once the greetings were done with further details to follow from tomorrow, Karin and I then headed straight to Big Sis El’s shop.
Karin was told by Big Sis El that she could choose any outfit, and she’s been talking enthusiastically to the shop assistant and trying on clothes.
”Yeah. The queen was really happy and pinched Karin’s cheeks. She also asked about your right arm and seemed genuinely concerned…”
”So, what about you, Melon?”
Big Sis El asked with worry.
”Nothing… She probably doesn’t even know that I was pregnant. You wouldn’t tell the queen such things, right? Besides, Sister Puruun in a hostage situation and don’t know about my miscarriage, does she? …This is how it should be.”
”I see. That makes sense. Wow, I was surprised to get a letter from Ms. Akari, but… Puruun was already in the neighboring country…”
Not that I particularly want the queen to worry about me.
But, when women who have both carried a same man’s child meet, and one has lost theirs, it’s not about assigning blame. Knowing each other’s circumstances leads to concern.
However, looking closely, the queen’s belly seems to be slightly pronounced… Honestly… I felt a bit jealous.
But that’s completely wrong.
I too must pray from the bottom of my heart that the Queen and Yuuta’s child will be born safely and grow up healthy…
Afterwards, Big Sis El took me to dinner with Karin.
Karin was very happy because she found a piece that she liked.
I brought Karin back to my room in the Royal Palace’s official residence.

I bet it’s dusty in here.
Thinking that, when I tried to unlock the door, a letter was stuck in it.
I invited Karin inside, opened the window to air out the very dusty room, and then read the letter.
This… is from the queen.
It says she would like to meet with just the two of us if possible.
But at this late hour… no, it’s still fine.
”Hey, Karin. I’m going out for a bit, so I’m sorry, but you can take a shower first and sleep on the bed over there. It’s okay not to lock the door.”
”Okay, I understand. But where are you going? Are you okay alone?”
”Well, it’s inside the Royal Palace, so it’s not dangerous.”
I went to the queen’s private room and explained to the guard that I was called, and I was allowed in immediately.
Inside the room, the queen was standing, but… huh.
The queen isn’t in her pajamas anymore.
Maybe I should have done this tomorrow after all?
While I was lost in those thoughts, the queen suddenly hugged me.
”Ms. Melon… I don’t know what words to say to you. However… it must have been very hard and painful for you. The fear I felt when I put myself in your shoes is indescribable. Yet, you are… working for our country and Mr. Yuuta in this way…”
”Y-your majesty, you know about my situation?”
”Yes…I’m very embarrassed to say this, but I didn’t know anything about Karin until I met her today, and I didn’t know anything about you at all until I read the letter from Elder Brother Aaron that Baron Tethyrkan brought me. In fact, Puru never told me that you were pregnant with Mr. Yuuta’s child…but I guess she flew away somewhere because of my pregnancy fuss.”

If it was my sister, that would probably be the case.
But…Sir Aaron.
He was also concerned about me.
The Queen continues to speak to me, feeling extremely embarrassed.
”So, Ms. Melon. I’m not sure what I can do for you right now, but… I will pour my whole being into giving birth to and raising this child safely. Of course, that won’t heal your feelings, but that’s all I can do…”

This must be the queen’s way of showing the utmost care for me.
”Thank you, Your Majesty. I… will definitely bring Yuuta back. And… I’ll do my best to bear his child again!! So please take care of yourself… and give birth to a healthy child…”
”Yes… Ms. Melon…”
Queen Asuka said this and hugged me tightly.
”Um… Your Majesty. Can I touch your belly?”
”Oh, yes, please do. Now, please have a seat on this couch.”
Saying this, the queen sat on a nearby reception couch.
I knelt on the floor, leaned in like a child to the queen’s belly, and gently rubbed it with my right hand.
”Ah!?”
I suddenly exclaimed, surprising the queen.
”Ms. Melon, what happened?”
”No, Your Majesty… it just moved… oh, see, it’s moving again!”
”Oh, really? I didn’t feel anything…”
