Chapter 104 Interlude꞉ The Birth Rite of the Evil Dragon’s Bloodline – Sakuya, Uigetsu

A scream shattered the sanctum, raw and piercing — the sound of life forcing its way into the world.
Sakuya’s body trembled beneath the sacred bindings, her back arched against the Nawaumitsuna, the Binding Rope of Birth, that pulsed with faint golden light. Her voice broke in waves of agony and devotion. Beside her, Uigetsu’s cry joined hers, two voices twisting together like threads of light and shadow.
They were no longer princesses but vessels — fallen daughters who bore within them the forbidden seed of Father. Their bodies moved with the rhythm of divine instinct, bound by pain and love. Sweat glistened upon their skin like dew on sacred stone as they clung to the ropes, refusing to let go.
”Father… can you see… my baby?” Sakuya gasped between breaths.
”I can,” I said softly. “Yours has Mother’s dark hair, and Uigetsu’s shines with silver light. Both are strong, and they hear me.”
At my voice, the motion within them changed. The infants stilled, then shifted — small heads pressing forward, guided not by command but by instinct, by the pull of the voice that had called them into being. Tiny lives sought the world where Father waited.
The pressure grew unbearable. Yet neither Sakuya nor Uigetsu faltered. Their screams rose, their hands gripping the sacred ropes tighter as the contractions tore through them. The sound was agony made holy.
Uigetsu laughed through her pain. “Papa… they found you. They just want to see you faster, huh?”
Sakuya’s breath trembled. “Then… let me give them that light…”
The air shimmered. The Nawaumitsuna glowed faintly, responding to their devotion. The scent of blood and life mingled with the faint hum of the sacred rope. As they strained, the crowns of two small heads emerged — one dark as obsidian, one glinting with streaks of silver.
”It’s happening,” I whispered.
Their cries broke the silence — two children born almost as one, their first breaths echoing within my arms. The daughters of fallen light and dragon blood, each with small, curling horns like polished stone, lay against my chest.
When the blood and amniotic sheen were washed away, their beauty shone clear — dark eyes like mirrors of the night sky, tiny hands grasping at my fingers with impossible strength.
In that moment, I knew the Bloodline had begun anew — a legacy forged from sin, devotion, and eternal light.
The infants’ tiny hands clutched at my robe, their eyes wide and filled with light. That fierce grip — that need — seemed to mirror the intensity of the bond between us. Even newly born, they looked to me as if I were the only sky they knew.
Sakuya smiled faintly, her eyes warm. “They must take after me, Father. Choosing your arms over mine… well, as your daughter, I can hardly blame them. Still, I won’t let you steal all their love.”
Uigetsu laughed softly beside her. “It’s natural to prefer Papa, isn’t it? But I can’t lose either — look, this is their treat, made just for them.”
From her breast came a faint hiss, and the air filled with the sweet scent of milk — rich and luminous like white nectar. The twins stirred, eyes drawn by instinct to the source of warmth and comfort. Sakuya and Uigetsu, radiant in the hush, guided their daughters closer, their movements gentle, reverent.
”There now,” I murmured. “Your mothers have a gift prepared for you.”
The infants latched instinctively, their small mouths finding sustenance. Sakuya gasped at the sudden pull. “Ah… so eager, my little one. You’re strong already.”
Uigetsu chuckled softly through her breath. “Easy now, sweetheart. There’s plenty to go around.”
The chamber was filled with a quiet rhythm — the sound of life nursing at the world’s beginning. The twins drank with fierce hunger, yet their faces softened into peace, and their mothers watched them as if every heartbeat were a prayer answered. The sweetness of milk mingled with the scent of sanctity.
Their bodies, once marked by corruption, now shone with warmth. Sakuya and Uigetsu’s eyes met mine — gratitude glimmering within them. The evil that had once been part of their essence seemed to fade, replaced by calm devotion.
”To bear your child, Father,” Sakuya whispered, “has taught me the true joy of life. This is what it means to be a mother — to connect our souls through love.”
Uigetsu smiled, her voice light but sincere. “I think I finally understand too. Once you’ve given life, you just want to give more. If it’s your child, I could bear a thousand and still feel blessed. But for now… I’ll raise this one with everything I have.”
Their laughter, soft and pure, filled the sanctum. The aura of the Evil Dragon dimmed, transformed into something luminous — not power, but tenderness. The darkness that once coiled around their hearts now lay sleeping.
I looked at the twins, radiant beneath the sacred glow. “Have you chosen their names?” I asked.
”Yes,” Sakuya replied with pride. “This one is Akika — Dawn’s Bloom. She’ll be the sign that our Bloodline has begun anew.”
”And mine,” said Uigetsu, brushing silver strands from her daughter’s hair, “is Gintsuki — Silver Moon. Her colors prove she carries the dragon’s blessing. My heart tells me she’ll grow into a true daughter of Papa.”
Thus were the twin daughters named — Akika of the dawn, Gintsuki of the moon — the first symbols of a Bloodline no longer cursed but reborn. Through them, the darkness of the Evil Dragon would one day fade, and the light of true dragons would rise again.
