Chapter 63 Let’s Smash the Seal Dragon Festival with the Evil Dragon! (End of Volume ①)
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Listen to my voice, children of men.”
As Yaten’s voice took the role of the Evil Dragon, it filled the air with such weight that everyone around felt crushed by awe.
Her huge form, enough to blot out the sky, towered over the crowd gathered for the Seal Dragon Festival. With just a few measured words, every person bowed, showing true submission from the heart. Faces showed trembling fear, heads bowed as if praying the world would not be torn apart by her power, waiting for the ruler’s next sentence.
That’s the kind of presence Yaten has.
The gap in strength and dignity between the Evil Dragon and humans is absolute. To have mixed blood with such a being and become her mate — it really felt like a miracle.
At the Underground Temple I live in, Yaten plays the role of a mother bearing and raising life, but in truth she is the kind of terrifying Evil Dragon whose mere presence would make millions tremble. She holds the power to wipe out nations with a single will. As the man who shares a life with that being, I can’t help the deep joy that floods me.
Knowing that the strongest dragon in the world is my companion and that she can sire excellent offspring pushes my urge to breed to its limits. Even now, the child inside Yaten’s womb is mine. The feeling of having impregnated such a powerful female swells my desire for conquest. No matter how she covers the sky and scares everyone, before me — the Evil Dragon called Yaten is only my beloved mate.
”—For a thousand years I was sealed by the Shiryuin Clan.”
Yaten, always sensitive to my excitement, caught the pulse of my mood and let out a small hint of exasperation before she continued the cover story.
”They may resent the sealing, but I must admit the plan that bound me was clever. Mortal hands managed to put dirt on me; that achievement shall not be held against them.”
At those words, the humans gathered in the plaza for the Fūryūsai relaxed their chests. The Evil Dragon — the very force that could destroy the world — declared she would not take revenge for being sealed. Relief washed over them: the worst case had been avoided. The threat hadn’t vanished, but the fact that the dragon now acknowledged humans gave them a sliver of hope.
Their fear didn’t disappear, but the atmosphere loosened just enough. Sensing that shift, Yaten went on.
”But I cannot forgive the fact that they made a fake of me. How dare mortal children treat the power of an Evil Dragon as a mere tool. For that sin, the perpetrators must receive fitting punishment — first, we shall make an example of this Void Dragon.”
”Help me… please, help me…!”
To show the Shiryuin Clan’s crime and punish its symbol, they staged a public penalty for the Void Dragon. A figure bound by sacred ropes — a human-shaped Void Dragon — was lifted up and displayed before the great Evil Dragon, so it would be clear that a mere clone could never match the real thing. The belly bulged in an odd way and felt off, but in a scene where the world’s destroyer was about to stage a public execution, no one cared for such small oddities.
”Please—just don’t take my life!”
The Void Dragon’s desperate pleas, from a body only hours old, were shockingly convincing; the acting was so real it could have been a performance. Like a tragic young princess exposed before a horrifying jaw, the sight wounded the hearts of everyone in the plaza, even though they knew it was a Void Dragon.
Yaten’s voice then took on a cruel, dark delight that made everyone shiver.
”Rest assured, I will not kill you. I am not so kind as to end it there.”
”Hik…!”
Even if it was staged, Yaten’s display of Evil Dragon malice was hideous. Her vertical-slit golden dragon eyes seemed to peer straight into the soul; even the Void Dragon could not help but scream. Exposed to pure malice and sadistic pleasure, bound and made powerless by the sacred ropes, there was no way to resist — it looked genuinely terrified.
And because it seemed so genuine, the people in the plaza never stopped believing the show.
”Void Dragon, you will be kept at my Underground Temple like the Shiryuin Clan kept me sealed for a thousand years. You shall be my toy to soothe my boredom in a hell where death is not allowed.”
”No—no… stop, please—stop—!!”
Like a meteorfall, glittering like stardust, the Void Dragon’s body was dropped straight into the Shiryuin Clan’s Underground Temple. It slammed underground with a thunderous crash, as if it had pierced the vast mansion itself. Even from the Fūryūsai plaza, it felt like the disaster had struck the Shiryuin estate.
So that’s what “sending to the Underground Temple” looks like in practice…
The impact would have turned a normal human to pieces, but a Void Dragon — a clone of the Evil Dragon — could probably survive. Still, seeing that physical hammering into the temple made my worry flare uncontrollably. As soon as this was over, I swore to myself I’d go visit them and check on the child.
”Hmm. That settles the punishment for my fake for now. Next, we must punish the Shiryuin Clan who made the Void Dragon.”
Yaten’s fury now pointed toward the Shiryuin Clan. Both the main family and branches trembled in fear, unable even to open their mouths to defend themselves. Yaten hurried on, almost as if she feared losing control of her temper.
”I will not demand death by clan guilt. The branch families who did this have already had their souls taken by the Void Dragon, so let their punishment be the loss of their family status.”
Having become a mother has softened her toward other pregnant women and children. She approves of crushing the Shiryuin Clan, but she absolutely refuses to let punishment spill over to innocent lives. So, while she would strip the clan of its prestige, she wouldn’t take children’s lives or seize anything that would harm newborns.
In the exorcist world, the Bloodline Purification Rite is all the rage, and many women of the Shiryuin Clan are pregnant — the clan is in the middle of a baby boom. As a mother, Yaten won’t inflict cruel punishments on those who bear children.
”Renounce the Shiryuin family name. I will take the main family’s mansion and make it mine.”
I watched her claim the house as if announcing a final verdict, my chest tight with a strange mix of pride and dread.
But for the Shiryuin Clan, who prized their bloodline above all else, losing the family name was a punishment heavier than any seizure of property. To abandon a house that had lasted a thousand years was almost like denying the blood that ran in their veins. Still, the Shiryuin Clan’s power had already crumbled in the chaos of the Seal Dragon Festival (Fūryūsai), so while there was no material loss, their pride — the very essence of their lineage — was utterly destroyed.
For the family, giving up the name cut deeper than losing wealth…
Through the Bloodline Purification Rite, the family had built pride around the strength of their blood. Though Yaten did not need to announce the punishment formally, to have their downfall displayed in the plaza of the Fūryūsai was a bitter spectacle. To be stripped of their house’s status during a festival celebrating the clan’s past power meant total public humiliation. And yet, no one dared to oppose the world-destroying Evil Dragon; hundreds of Main and Branch Family members could only swallow their tears and silently weep.
”If any among you objects to my punishment of the Shiryuin Clan, step forward now.”
Of course, no one stepped up. Fear of the Evil Dragon was one reason, but more so, the clan’s downfall had already been decided. In fact, some even felt gratitude that the absolute power of the Evil Dragon had resolved the centuries-long entanglements of a prestigious family with a single decree. Normally, the Shiryuin Clan’s political mud-wrestling would have dragged on endlessly, but with the word of an absolute being, resolution was immediate. The Main and Branch Families understood this, and the crowd at the Fūryūsai confirmed their consent through silent acknowledgment.
”Then so be it. I shall bring this matter to resolution according to my will.”
In that instant, over a thousand years of Shiryuin Clan tradition was severed. The clan, which had fed on the power gained by sealing the Evil Dragon, was now destroyed by the very being it had imprisoned. The punishment for the Void Dragon’s rampage, combined with the dismantling of the prestigious Shiryuin Clan, erased a millennium of influence. Even a family that had strengthened its lineage through incestuous unions, revering the purity of blood, faced its greatest punishment.
”At this moment, the Shiryuin Clan is abolished.”
Before over two thousand domestic and foreign dignitaries, the history of the Shiryuin Clan came to an end.
”And I declare that, in the place I now occupy, a house to enshrine the Evil Dragon shall rise upon this earth.”
Where once the Shiryuin Clan stood for a thousand years, a new lineage would now honor the Evil Dragon as an Aramitama, the dragon’s soul, bringing forth a family that could endure for eternity.

As an interlude, after establishing their new house, the story pauses to show the prosperity and mating life of the protagonists. The second volume will begin after this glimpse into their daily triumphs and the continuation of their lineage.
