Volume 2 Chapter 6 Nana – Part III
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The day after Ms. Rumi went to the divine realm.
I left home early in the morning, heading towards the royal capital.
Inside my heart, there was a tension greater than usual.
”Nana, do you have everything?”
”…I don’t think that check is necessary.”
Our house was completely empty.
Last night, Mama put everything except the bedding into the subspace storage, so we had to leave right after waking up.
We had a simple breakfast with emergency food… Even if we were a bit late and the demon race showed up, I think Mama would be fine.
Leaving this house, filled with so many memories of Brother Rob and me, makes me really sad.
But right now, I’m still weak, so I can’t afford to think like that.
Papa had already left for Somirkas.
I informed him about Ms. Rumi right after she went to the divine realm.

In the southwestern part of the royal capital, Lorensia, there is a section with our Cartwood family mansion, granted to us by the queen.
It had been left untouched for many years, and only the maids who lived there worked on-site.
Mama and I visited the mansion, just the two of us.
*Ding ding!*
A beautiful crystal-like magical device installed in the center of the front door reacted to the visitor’s magic power, ringing the bell inside the building.
Then, with a hurried sound, the maid quickly opened the front door.
”Hello! Who is it?”
In front of me stood a girl with a beautiful and calm presence.
She had semi-long pink-blonde hair.
Her face was very well-formed, gentle, and innocent.
She was small, with fair skin and a delicate complexion.
And she was wearing a maid outfit.
She looked like a major beauty that Brother Rob would like.
Plus, she seemed to be about the same age as my brother.
…Why is such a young girl working as a maid in this lonely mansion?
”Um, are you the one from the Cartwood family who will be living here starting today?”
Since Mama and I were silently staring at her, the girl looked a bit uneasy.
”Oh, I’m sorry! I was just surprised because you’re such a young and cute maid… Are you a maid sent from the castle to work in this mansion?”
It seemed Mama had the same question as I did.
”Yes, that’s correct. My name is Yunonno Altia Farnor. Please call me Yuno! …I am technically royalty, but please treat me like any other servant!”
She blushed a little and gave a somewhat awkward smile while introducing herself, looking a bit nervous.
A princess from royalty… as a maid?
”Um, Ms. Yuno? Why is a royal person working as a maid here?”
I was also curious, and my mom asked the question for me.
”Yes, I was told by my mother to win the hearts of Sir Rob or Lady Nana… Ah! I shouldn’t have said that!”
She let slip a word that caught my attention.
”Well, as long as there’s no bad intention, that’s fine. If you don’t mind, would you like to be friends with Nana?”
Mama replied while looking at Ms. Yuno with a smile.
(…Brother Rob’s heart must be captured… I never thought there would be more people to watch out for in a place like this!)
”Mama… how about changing to someone else?”
I suggested to Mama, my mouth twitching a bit.
”Does Nana not like Nono (Yuno-chan)? I feel like we won’t find a better girl than her in the whole capital…”
I looked at Ms. Yuno.
She had a gentle and graceful face, truly fitting the word “princess.”
If she just wanted to be my friend, it didn’t seem like a problem at all.
Her attitude towards me, a complete stranger, was soft and friendly.
”Ms. Yuno… can I ask what your job is?”
I’ve heard that royal people often have unique jobs that you can’t find anywhere else.
I asked out of curiosity.
Ms. Yuno looked at me a bit nervously and answered.
”Um… my job is ‘Sleeping Ripple.’ With this job’s skills, you can have a really nice sleep… I’m sorry. It doesn’t seem like a job that would help in adventures…”
It was the first time I had heard of such a job.
Intrigued, I decided to look up ‘Sleeping Ripple’ in the ‘Fountain of Knowledge.’
(Unknown. It seems to be a job that first appeared in Yggdrasil.)
…What a surprise.
An unknown job? Now I’m really curious!
”Okay… that sounds good! From today, Ms. Yuno will be my personal maid! …Brother Rob can take care of himself, so you don’t need to worry about him!”
I pointed at Ms. Yuno decisively.
She needs to stay by my side for a while to help me!
Ms. Yuno looked surprised and glanced at Mama for confirmation.
”Hehe… I think that’s a good idea. I’m planning for Nana to attend the magic academy, so please help her out there too.”
”Y-Yes! …Leave it to me!”
Ms. Yuno replied with a bright smile and full of energy.
…However, there was something more concerning that Mama said.
”Wait… Mama, why? I think it would be better to learn from you than at the academy…”
I voiced my doubt.
I didn’t know what they would teach at the academy, but I couldn’t believe there were better mages than Mama, so I thought I didn’t need to go…
”I’m sorry… but I’ve decided to stay by Izana’s side and fight against the demon race. If I don’t, I’m afraid I’ll regret it… I want you to wait for Rob while attending the academy.”
I was worried about Papa too, so if strong Mama was going to be with him, I felt a bit relieved.
”…If that’s the case, then I guess it can’t be helped. …I understand! I will attend the magic academy!”
I made up my mind.
”I’ll write a letter to the headmaster of the magic academy, so Nana, please take it there tomorrow.”
”Yeah… Mama, please take care of Papa. …Oh, if Brother Rob comes here first, should I tell him to go to Somirkas?”
”Yes, that’s fine. …He must be getting really strong and will probably start fighting the Demon King soon… Now, let’s organize the things we brought from Grove Village today!”
”Yes!”
Ms. Yuno and I followed Mama’s instructions and started organizing the room.
That day, we spent the whole day just cleaning the room.

The next day, holding Mama’s letter, I came to the Royal Capital Lorensia Magic Academy with Ms. Yuno.
Feeling nervous, I handed the letter to the guard, who told us to wait here for a while.
At this academy, there are cherry blossom trees that bloom all year round, planted along the borders and throughout the campus.
Apparently, a hero from another world accidentally planted a branch in the past, and it was grown and improved with magic to become what it is now.
”Wow… this is amazing! It’s so beautiful that I could stare at it all day.”
I was captivated by the cherry blossom trees planted all around the magic academy.
The light pink petals swayed in the wind, creating a magical scene.
”You’re right… um, will I also be attending the magic academy? Actually, I only have a holy attribute for magic.”
Ms. Yuno asked me anxiously. I couldn’t hide my surprise at her words.
”…Honestly, I’m surprised you have a holy attribute! I thought only ‘Saint’ could have a unique ability with the holy attribute…”
I stared at Ms. Yuno’s eyes, feeling surprised.
”Yes… my mother was also curious. …So, I was told to ask Mrs. Emma to think of a new holy attribute magic, but it seems that won’t be possible now.”
Her words were filled with disappointment.
The ‘Saint’ holy attribute magic is learned through job skills and can be activated without chanting.
As the job level increases, you gain a new skill one by one, which is different from the usual skills that you can earn through effort.
But, maybe Mama can create a new magic.
That made me understand why Ms. Yuno came to the Cartwood family mansion as a servant.
”Thank you for waiting. The headmaster, Ferris Ovaldi, is on the top floor of the tallest building over there, so please head there.”
The guard uncle returned to us and told us where the headmaster was.
Ms. Yuno and I exchanged glances and nodded firmly at each other.
Excitement and anxiety spread in my chest, knowing that a new adventure was about to begin.
And so, my name is Nana Cartwood, and the life at the magic academy with the princess of this country, Yunonno Altia Farnor, began.
A new adventure filled with friends, magic, and hope for the future. We took that first step, excited about what awaited us ahead.
