Volume 1 Chapter 17-2 Preparation and Expenses and the Person Asking

The madam used to give terrible orders to Lifia out of jealousy for her beauty.
She’s very jealous.
But because of that, she tries to keep beauty products away from other women.
She wants to make sure those products go only to her, seizing the chance to monopolize the business.
For her, leaking my information would only bring bad results as a woman starving for beauty and as a money-hungry merchant.
That’s why I’m very grateful for her plans.
If the power of the ‘Love Hotel’ became known, many people would try to get close to me to use it.
There’s no guarantee that these people would be friendly.
There might be some who would use violence to force me to comply.
Some might even take Lifia hostage.
The main culprits would be those from the royal castle.
They try to kidnap people from other worlds to use as their soldiers, and if they find someone useless, they just cast them away.
It’s possible there are others like them.
That’s why I want to hide my skills as much as possible.
But secrets always come out eventually.
It’s impossible to keep everything hidden.
So until that time, I want to get stronger as much as I can.
I’ll try to leak as little information as possible and grow quickly.
That is my goal right now.
When I explained this, Lifia looked down for a moment, thinking.
Then she slowly raised her face and nodded deeply and quietly.
There was a small flame of determination in her eyes.
”Master… I thank you for talking to me like this.”
Lifia stepped closer and looked at me firmly while saying that.
”Also, I’m really grateful for letting me into the ‘Love Hotel.’ Being here with you, Master, has been such a relief for me…”
Her eyes shimmered slightly but quickly filled with a strong light.
Then she spoke with a determined tone.
”So please, let me help you too, Master. No matter what happens, I will support you with all my strength.”
I gasped for a moment at Lifia’s heartfelt words.
I felt both grateful for her support and a bit pressured by how much she cared.
”Thanks, Lifia. I’ll keep counting on you.”
Lifia smiled softly and nodded in response.

After shopping, we returned to the room in the Love Hotel.
I bought a set of leather armor (200,000 Aurum), 5 lower-grade potions (100,000 Aurum each), and a new spear (200,000 Aurum), totaling 900,000 Aurum.
Even though I’m equipping myself, my wallet feels a lot lighter all of a sudden.
I let out a sigh without thinking.
”Gear really costs a lot of money…”
Well, it’s fine.
I can just earn more money.
I wanted armor for Lifia too, but there wasn’t anything in her size.
Adventurers who need armor are mostly grown men.
I have no choice but to protect Lifia.
With Moo-Moo around, I don’t have to worry about being ambushed from behind.
As long as I’m on the front lines, we should be okay.
If things get dangerous, we can just run back to the Love Hotel.
I remember the potion storage method I heard at the apothecary.
”Keep it as cool as possible,” they said, so I’ll put it in the fridge.
It’s nice that the Love Hotel’s facilities can be so helpful.
By the way, the apothecary was complaining about adventurers.
They always carry expensive potions in their pockets, warming them with their body heat, which ruins them.
Then they complain when the potions don’t work as expected.
For adventurers, it makes sense to keep potions within easy reach in an emergency.
But it’s terrifying to think that they might not work when you need them.
”At least we can use the fridge, so we’ve got an advantage there.”
Lifia nods seriously, gazing at the potions lined up in the fridge.
”Lifia, use them whenever you feel the need. Don’t hold back and end up dead, because then there’s no coming back.”
”I understand, thank you.”
The leather armor was pretty pricey even though I chose a good-quality one.
I picked the best one that fit me, but it’s still second-hand at this price.
The surface is covered with countless tiny scratches, making you feel its long history of battles with someone.
But what happened to the previous owner of this armor?
The shop assistant guaranteed that there was “no problem with the quality,” but there was a strange smell seeping out of the leather.
It was either the sweat of the previous owner or some unique odor that I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
It was so uncomfortable that I decided to try the “Love Hotel” laundry service.
After selecting the laundry service from the menu and tapping it, a small door suddenly popped open from what seemed like an empty wall.
Inside, there was just enough space for a washing basket.
It seemed like I was supposed to put it in here.
This setup seemed to be the same as the room service.
I pushed the leather armor into the door and closed it.
Checking the menu, I saw a display that said “Consume MP3.”
I pressed OK, and a light “poof” sound echoed.
It seemed to be done instantly.
Opening the door again, I found the leather armor looking as good as new.
The dirt and smell were completely gone, and even the scars that gave it that aged feel were no longer there.
It was shiny.
”This is… amazing…”
Picking it up, the leather armor was radiating like a brand new item.
The laundry service was something to be feared.
If I thought about buying an item with this status, 200,000 wouldn’t be enough.
It might even be double that.
Just repairing and selling used armor and clothing could make a fortune.
I quickly put on the leather armor that was like new.
Not only did it look good, but the feel against my skin was surprisingly smooth.
Even though it was my first time wearing leather armor, I couldn’t help but be impressed by how comfortable it was.
”It suits you, Master. You look very cool!”
I’m in a good mood after being flattered by Lifia.

Armor and potions ready, I decided to just say hello to the receptionist Tifi and then leave for the adventurers’ guild.
That’s what I thought as I stepped into the adventurers’ guild.
I left Lifia at the Love Hotel and entered the adventurers’ guild.
Hm?
It’s noisy.
Looking closer, there were several young people crowded around the reception.
They were wearing expensive-looking armor.
They were well-dressed for adventurers.
Everyone having black hair was rare in this country.
They were at the reception, anxiously repeating their claims.
”It was Aihara or Aizawa… anyway, that’s the name!”
Aihara? Aizawa?
That sounds like a Japanese name.
By the way, my name is Aisuku.
”I’m sorry, but we don’t have anyone like that.”
The receptionist Tifi looked confused as she answered.
It seemed like they were looking for someone.
Suddenly, Tifi noticed me, and our eyes met.
Her gaze clearly said, “I need help.”
As I returned her gaze, one of the young guys following Tifi noticed me.
He stared at me, then shouted as if he remembered something.
”There he is, the old driver guy!”
