Some students’ faces lit up with hope at those words.
But I couldn’t shake the strange feeling in my heart.
The Glowing Orb── that androgynous voice had said something like this.
”Returning is very difficult.”
Is what the princess said true?
If we defeat the Demon King, can we really go home?
I feel like I can trust the Glowing Orb more.
After all, it clearly explained how we were summoned to this other world.
It even made sure we had the least harm possible.
On the other hand, the princess dragged us here to save themselves.
How much can I really trust what they say?
Doubt grew in my heart.
Which one should I believe?
I began to feel like the Glowing Orb was more reliable.
By the way, didn’t the other students meet the Glowing Orb during the summoning?
If they did, they should mention it.
But they didn’t seem to bring it up at all.
Do they think they moved straight from the bus to this castle?
Am I the only one who had this special dimensional shift?
Did I meet it alone?
While I thought about this, the princess kept talking.
”Everyone has received a special ability called Blessing when summoned.”
The princess smiled gracefully and continued.
The students started to buzz with excitement at her words.
Everyone looked confused and expectant, like they were in a game, when a priest-like man stepped forward.
”Now, let’s check your Blessings. Please place your hand here.”
He pointed to a large crystal ball on a pedestal.
The shining ball had a mysterious aura around it.
The students exchanged glances, unsure who would go first, but Yuuki moved first.
”I’ll give it a try.”
Saying that, he placed his hand on the crystal ball without hesitation.
In that moment, the ball shone brightly, as if reacting to Yuuki’s hand.
”Oh… this is…!”
A priest-like man gasped in surprise and excitedly declared.
”This person’s ability is ‘Holy Swordsmanship’!”
Hearing this, the princess’s eyes sparkled with joy.
”Wow, wonderful! A true hero’s blessing~desuwa. This is so reassuring!”
The students, now excited, placed their hands on the crystal without hesitation.
One by one, they received cool abilities like “swordsmanship” and “magic,” typical of another world.
Watching this, I worried about my turn.
My ability will be stronger because of my thoughts and tastes?
The glowing orb said that.
But what was I thinking just before I was called?
Right, that silly thought about liking love hotels.
No, there’s no way I would get that ability.
This can’t be true.
Wait, I’m a driver!
Maybe I’ll get a skill for handling vehicles?
If I got dragon riding skills, that would be awesome!
So cool!
That has to be it!
I wished hard and placed my hand on the crystal ball.
But──
”Your blessing is…’Love Hotel’.”
The princess tilted her head and asked in confusion.
”What is a Love Hotel?”
The maid next to her whispered, and the princess’s face turned red quickly.
”Huh…”
Huh?
”How indecent!”
The princess shouted with a bright red face.
”So lame! Seriously? Gross…”
The students murmured, laughter erupting everywhere.
Shocked and mocking, the worst reactions came.
I slumped down in the middle of it all.
I really got ‘Love Hotel’ as my ability.
Then I was moved to a different room,
away from the princess and the girls who looked at me with disdain.
They moved me to a small, simple room.
In front of me were a snobby nobleman and a serious-looking knight.
Their cold stares felt like they were judging me.
I felt like a suspect in an interrogation.
”A Love Hotel, huh? It’s like a place for secret meetings. What do you think about that?”
The nobleman asked in a low voice, pretending to be uninterested.
I felt a strong feeling of disdain in his question.
Before I could answer, the knight beside him folded his arms and spoke.
”I doubt it helps against the Demon Race. A Love Hotel… what a ridiculous thing.”
His words made me a little angry.
I knew it was silly, but I didn’t choose this.
Or did I want it?
I do love Love Hotels, though.
While I was lost in thought, the nobleman looked down at me with cold eyes and asked again.
”What’s your position? What’s your relationship with the other heroes?”
I hesitated for a moment, but I had to answer honestly.
”I’m… a bus driver. They are students who are passengers.”
The nobleman laughed like my words were silly.
”Hmph, like a coachman.”
Are drivers low status in this world?
I thought that for a moment, but my fate was already sealed.
I was easily kicked out of the castle.
They were saying useless people should go away.
I was only given a small amount of money.
Now, I’m all alone in this new world.
