 Yeah, level up.

 I hit level 40.

This level is a big milestone.

Usually, Love Hotel gets a new feature at this point.

I wanna hope there’s something new this time too.

I quickly check the “buy services” part of the menu.

 ”Alright, here it is!”

I find the new feature and buy it right away.

After setting it up, a new button pops up on the menu screen.

”Lifia, show me your card key and wait here for me.”

 ”? Okay.”

Lifia tilts her head but nods without arguing.

Leaving them inside the room, I head to the hall.

I open the menu to try out the new feature and tap the new button.

 Ring ring ring…

 The call sound echoes.

 I wait a bit and then──

 ’Huh? Uh?’

I hear Lifia’s voice from the screen.

I try talking to her too.

 ”Hello, Lifia?”

 ’Eh? Master’s voice!’

 ’What do I do now?’

 ’It’s a phone!’

 ’Milord, where are you!?’

I hear the girls’ surprised and confused voices, all cute and noisy.

”See, now we can talk even when we’re apart.”

 ’That’s amazing!’

Lifia’s excited voice comes through the screen.

Yeah, the new part added to Love Hotel is an intercom feature.

I can’t help but laugh, happy about this new function.

* * *

After that, we tested the new intercom feature thoroughly.

First, only I or anyone holding a card key to enter Love Hotel can use it.

From the menu or the list shown on the card key, you tap who you wanna call, and it rings like a phone.

The card key usually vanishes, sucked into the holder’s hand.

In that case, the call sound rings directly in their mind.

Yomi’s first time was a real trip──she was all “Ding-dong in my head!” But she got the hang of it real quick.

The big deal was checking out the call range.

Inside and outside the Love Hotel.

Above ground and down in the dungeon.

We confirmed it works just fine no matter what.

 ”This… this is super handy.”

Tifi sounds impressed, whispering it like it’s a secret.

 ”Oh, you bet it is.”

This just upped the Love Hotel’s convenience level big time.

Should be a huge help in dungeon runs too.

I mulled over the potential of this new feature as I closed the screen.

And I decided to give Yomi a card key too.

She’s new, but there’s a lot of good in her having one.

Without the call function, it’d be a pain in the ass in a pinch.

There might be times in the dungeon when we need to split up.

For emergency teamwork, we need a way to communicate.

Plus, when we use the ‘Love Hotel’ warp trick, it’s good to have more options for where to go.

If a member’s got a card key, we can open the door from there.

So, it’s strategically better to have everyone carry one.

And it’d be sad to leave someone out.

 ”Here, this one’s for you.”

I hand over a shiny gold card key.

 ”Oh, um… thanks…”

Yomi looks surprised for a second.

But then she clutches the card key to her chest like it’s something precious.

 It’s like she’s protecting something really important──

 ”Hehe, Yom-Yom looks so happy.”

Tifi smiles and gives a little giggle.

 ”Ugh, you’re so annoying…!”

Yomi’s face turns red, but she carefully tucks away the card key.

* * *

The next day, we hit the town.

We’re on the hunt for Yomi’s new spellbook.

First stop is the biggest magic shop in Dungeon City.

It’s a place where magic users hang out, and the shelves are packed with all sorts of magic tools.

”Welcome, what can I help you find?”

Stepping through the shop door, I was greeted by a refined clerk with a smile.

This was a high-end store dealing in top-tier magical instruments, and their customer service was just as polished.

But for a moment, the clerk’s expression flickered.

Yomi was the target of his gaze.

He couldn’t help but stare at her outfit: a high-leg leotard.

The bold V-neck exposed her chest, while her lustrous lower half was wrapped in black tights.

The high-leg and high heels only made her legs more enchanting.

She was a long-haired, black-haired beauty, a sorceress with a touch of sex appeal.

 Can’t blame him.

Yomi’s boobs and butt were the talk of the town.

Yomi used to hate walking around the town in this getup.

But now, she seemed to have embraced it, blushing yet proudly throwing back her shoulders and strutting her stuff.

She realized that trying too hard to hide only drew more attention.

So she walks, shaking her boobs and butt without a second thought.

A real treat for the eyes.

It’s no surprise that a hottie like her would catch the staff off guard.

But the clerk was a pro.

He quickly composed himself and continued serving as if nothing happened.

 Professional to the core.

I smirked inwardly and turned back to the clerk.

”I’m looking for a spellbook. Preferably something for offense.”

 ”Understood. Please follow me.”

He led me to a section filled with various types of spellbooks.

 But──

”These are all kind of weak.”

 Yomi murmured.

Seemed like all the spellbooks here were for low-level magic.

 Stuff she already knew.

 Not what she needed.

We were looking for a spellbook on par with ‘The Magic of Light Trajectories’ that we already had.

But in this store’s selection, nothing of that caliber was in sight.

”Excuse me, do you not have any advanced spellbooks here?”

I asked the clerk, who shook his head apologetically.

”I’m sorry. Advanced spellbooks are extremely valuable and not commonly available in the market.”

I got “The Magic of Light Trajectories” from a treasure chest in the dungeon in the first place.

There’s no way a spellbook this good would be sold around just so easily.

After that, I checked a few magic shops in the town streets, but it was the same story everywhere.

 ”Nothing here…”

Yomi slumped her shoulders in disappointment.

I guess the more she hoped, the harder it hit when there was nothing.

No matter which shop we went to, it was all just basic spellbooks──no advanced ones Yomi needed were found.

”Well, can’t do much. We gotta find another way.”

To keep exploring the dungeon and deal with the heroes still in the castle, Yomi needs to get stronger.

I looked up at the sky, thinking about what to do next.
