 A gentle voice echoed.

The children’s ruckus must have caught his attention.

The head of the church and the orphanage, the priest, showed up.

 ”Father! We’re back.”

Tifi replied with a cheerful tone, and I gave a light nod.

We reported to the priest that we had returned safely.

”It’s a relief to see you all back safely. Thanks to your efforts, the townsfolk are much more at ease.”

”Not at all, I’m glad we could be of help.”

We told the priest that the_stampede had been safely contained, and also introduced Rozmiaque.

”Thank you so much… thanks to you, peace has returned to this land.”

The priest nodded deeply and silently made a holy sign over his chest.

In the middle of this exchange, a high-pitched voice suddenly rang out.

 ”Wha- What’s that?!”

A little girl, playfully grappling with Tifi, shouted from under her feet.

Her eyes wide, she pointed at the inside of her skirt.

 ”Oh, Mr. Taro…”

Tifi turned her gaze to me, as if to consult.

 ”Is it okay?”

”Thank you. Go ahead and come out.”

I nodded, and Tifi moved her fingers, signaling.

Then, something flew out from under her skirt.

 Several small shadows, like fish.

 Demon sardines.

They glided through the air, swirling around Tifi.

 ”They’re flying!”

 ”So cute!”

The children’s eyes widened as they became captivated by the demon sardines with their black, glossy eyes.

Their fluffy, floating forms had a calming, adorable quality.

 ”Tifi, what… what are those…”

Even the gentle priest looked a bit surprised, his eyes opening wide at the unusual sight.

These were the monsters we had used in the dungeon, the demon sardines.

Now they served as her guards, always hidden away until needed.

After explaining this, we played with the children and enjoyed the peace.

That night, after enjoying a fun dinner with the kids, I took Yomi out and returned to the Love Hotel room.

This room hides in another space.

No sound gets in from the outside.

 No one can enter.

Just me and her, tucked inside all this silence.

Today I picked a fancier room.

A high-class, Western style──smooth chairs, soft lights. We sit together side by side on the sofa.

On the table: a fresh bottle of champagne, popped open.

Two glasses, ready, glowing under a gentle lamp.

”Oh? Got a mood, did you? You just can’t help yourself, huh.”

 Yomi says this, half exasperated.

There’s a tiny smile at the corner of her lips.

She’s playing it off, but… she’s not actually bothered at all.

 ”No, that’s not it.”

 Yeah, okay.

It’s also a little bit that.

 ”So? What is it, then?”

She tips her glass and tilts her head, curious.

 I meet her eyes.

 My voice comes out quiet.

 ”Yomi. Will you marry me?”

Yomi’s eyes go wide for a heartbeat.

 Then──

A tiny huff, a small laugh.

She looks away, voice turning a bit sulky, but there’s real warmth hidden inside.

”Honestly, I thought we basically were already. Not like I could run from you even if I tried.”

 I can’t help it──I grin at her.

”Even so, I wanted to say it. Properly. Make it official. I want you for real.”

 A breath passes.

 I go on.

”I was thinking… let’s have the ceremony right here, in this church. That’s why I asked you now.”

 ”…A wedding?”

She lowers her face, voice shaky, asking again.

 ”Yeah.”

 ”With me? Mr. Taro?”

 ”That’s right.”

 Yomi sets down her glass.

She bows her head, then peeks up at me.

 ”Say it again.”

 ”Hm?”

 ”Say it again. Please.”

She fidgets, squirming, her ears burning red.

 She’s adorable.

I crack a smile before I can stop it.

 ”You’re really cute, you know?”

”Stop! That’s not what I meant!”

 ”Okay.”

 I hold her gaze.

 Say it──clear, steady.

 ”Yomi.”

 ”Yeah.”

Her lips tremble as she answers, just barely above a whisper.

 ”I love you. Marry me.”

 ”…Yes.”

One single tear slips down Yomi’s cheek.

She was summoned to another world.

 Lost her family.

No one to trust, nowhere to go.

Even her classmates gave up on her.

 She was──is──completely, painfully alone.

”I found her like that, and I took her.”

At first, she seemed full of despair, but bit by bit, she opened up her heart.

Lately, she’s been getting into it with me too.

She doesn’t feel any refusal towards me anymore.

I’m gonna make her part of my family.

 I’ll make her happy.

I made a promise to myself.

I reach out gently and pull her close to me.

Yomi’s eyes go wide in surprise, but she soon closes them, surrendering.

And like that, the distance between us quietly, naturally, closes.

I press my lips to her forehead.

I hold Yomi tight, continuing to kiss her.

 ”Mmm…?”

As I slip my tongue in, a surprised gasp escapes her.

We twist our tongues together, sloshing and squelching in our own quiet space.

 ”Mmm, mmm…”

After a while, her breaths start to come faster.

 And then──

 ”Mmm, mmph!”

Her body spasms hard, then goes limp.

Looks like she’s reached her limit.

 ”Haa… haa…”

Yomi looks up at me with drenched eyes.

”No fair! The mood was just getting good!”

”Yomi’s just too cute. And also…”

I pet her head and whisper into her ear.

”Getting off just from kisses, you’re such a naughty girl.”

Yomi glares at me, her face turning bright red as I tease her.

”It’s your fault for doing this to me! You have to take responsibility! Really!”

 ”Ahh, of course I will.”

I cover her mouth with mine again.

 ”Mmm, mmm…”

 This time, I’m gentle, loving.

 I’ll take responsibility.

 I’ll make her happy.

And so, the night wore on.

Filled with lewd sounds and Yomi’s sweet moans.
