Volume 4 Chapter 54-2 The Scent of Grass and New Functions
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”…This is really good.”
The words slipped out naturally. The deep, rich scent, the soft sweetness lingering on the tongue… It might even be better than the tea from the ‘Love Hotel’ fridge or room service.
”I am honored by your words. This is tea made from the new leaves of the World Tree.”
Rozmiaque spoke gently.
”Even in the Elf Village, this is a rare treat, only used for special occasions. You won’t find it in human towns.”
”I see… You’ve given me something precious.”
”No, it’s my pleasure if you enjoy it.”
Rozmiaque smiled, his face showing both pride and respect.
When I asked him about it, he told me even he, with his ability to control plants, finds it difficult to grow these leaves. It takes delicate care and the right environment, with suitable soil being hard to come by.
”That brings me to my request…”
Rozmiaque’s gaze shifted to the door behind us, towards the lobby.
”The potted plant outside… that soil, and the pot itself, I’ve never seen anything like it. It seems to hold some sort of power. If we use that, the World Tree leaves… and even this seed could──”
Rozmiaque pulled a small, golden seed from his sleeve.
”A seed?”
”Yes. This is the seed of Ambrosia.”
I recognized it──he’d served that fruit on our wedding day. A rare item known as the Elf’s Elixir. It seems he had kept the seed.
”There’s never been a successful cultivation of it in our history. But with your power and the right conditions, perhaps…”
His eyes held a serious hope, tinged with a little expectation.
”If it’s possible, I believe I could be of help.”
”Hmm. It’s worth trying.”
Ambrosia had definitely been delicious. I’d heard it could even cure diseases that Greater Healing Potions couldn’t fix.
And even though it was just one small bite, the priest had been overjoyed when his back pain disappeared. The elixir’s healing effects were definitely worth considering.
Soon, Tifi will give birth. If we can get it ready for her and the child, that would be ideal.
Sounds interesting. I nodded.
The power of the Love Hotel… I never thought it would be useful like this.

With our business settled, we decided to resume the dungeon exploration.
Ready and set, we opened the door to the dungeon’s fifth floor.
In front of us was a vast land covered in sand, dotted with white coral and rocks.
Looking up, we saw sunlight sparkling on the water’s surface, waves gently rocking. In the clear blue sky, colorful fish swam.
And in the distance, countless schools of fish created huge shadows.
It was like standing at the bottom of the sea, a mysterious sight. This was the fifth floor, the ‘Seafloor of Shadow Waves’.
Our team: me, the half-elf Lifia, the female swordsman Kéa, and the sorcery master Yomi. Plus one more, the usual crew.
”In an instant, to the depths of the dungeon… My lord’s power is truly fearsome.”
Murmuring in awe was an elf man, Rozmiaque, Lifia’s father. He was joining our dungeon exploration this time. A high-level Spirit Magic user, he should be a big help.
”It’s nostalgic.”
He said, looking around.
”Have you been here before?”
This fifth floor was a secret realm that even top adventurers found hard to reach. Stepping foot here was a mark of the best.
”Yes, about 50 years ago… I gathered companions and challenged it.”
He answered with a quiet smile.
Fifty years. A reminder of the elves’ long life.
”What about that exploration?”
”By the 4th floor, we were out of strength and supplies. We only lasted a few minutes on the fifth. Overwhelmed by this strange environment, we had nothing left… Making it back alive was a miracle.”
He answered, shrugging and giving a light, bitter smile.
Even with Rozmiaque’s power, that was all we could manage. The fifth floor was that harsh, that unknown.
And that’s why I really felt the usefulness of my skill, ‘Love Hotel’.
A safe space to rest, resupply, and get back on our feet. Plus, we could quit and return to the surface anytime, or restart the exploration from where we left off. A handy power.
Well, guess it’s about time we start exploring.
Up to now, we relied on Lifia’s Spirit Magic to sense danger. We moved carefully, aiming for the next floor. Her magic only worked within her range. So, we had to walk through this huge dungeon step by step.
But now, we have the ‘Spirit-Seekers’ Compass’ from this floor. With it, the route to go down is always clear. No more getting lost.
But today, there’s something more important than just following that route.
”Today, I want to focus on hunting monsters.”
When I said that, Lifia was the first to respond.
”Master, do you mean…”
”Yeah. I’m close to leveling up.”
We recently fought rampaging monsters and a dragon zombie. By surviving those battles, I got a ton of experience.

My unique skill, ‘Love Hotel,’ has a special trait.
Each level in the tens digit unlocks new functions.
Levels 10, 20, 30… now, level 50 is about to open.
”What if it gets even more useful? What will happen then?”
Kéa laughs, a little surprised.
Honestly, I haven’t guessed either.
This skill already does more than expected──staying at inns, supplies, teleportation. What else could be added?
But that’s what makes it exciting.
Unknown powers. Gaining them isn’t just for exploring. It’s a huge weapon for surviving in this world.
And so, we kept hunting monsters.
The clear, blue ocean dungeon. We moved through sandy plains, coral reefs, and rocky crevices.
Big shellfish hiding in rocks, quick-jumping crustaceans, monsters suddenly leaping from the sand──these enemies could be deadly if we’re careless.
Still, we kept hunting steadily.
My sword and magic gun, Lifia’s wind magic, Kéa’s quick strikes, Yomi’s precise beams, and Rozmiaque’s plant magic──everyone played a part.
And, as expected, Rozmiaque’s Spirit Magic was incredibly useful.
Roots from the ground rose up, wrapping around enemies. Vines hanging from above struck like whips. As a quick shield, even a giant tree would sometimes form a wall, absorbing attacks.
His magic brought overwhelming stability, both in offense and defense.
While we were smoothly hunting monsters, a sudden heat coursed through my chest. My heart raced, and an almost uncontrollable surge of energy shook my whole body.
”It’s here!”
I couldn’t help but let the words slip out.
Yes, it was the feeling of leveling up. No doubt about it.
We quickly retreated to the safe space, ‘Love Hotel.’
I held back my excitement and took a deep breath to steady myself.
Focusing my mind, the menu appeared naturally.
Calmly, I started exploring the new features that had been added. Soon, unfamiliar words caught my eye.
And what they said was…
’Motel’
