Volume 4 Chapter 63 Rest Amid The Waves
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
I asked Beckus to craft a weapon that would serve as a trump card for dungeon capture.
However, even the master craftsman Beckus needs considerable time for a large item like a cannon.
In the meantime, we decided to move on land. Our goal is to escape abroad.
As long as we remain in this kingdom, we cannot even walk openly in the town.
Now, we are at a riverbank a little distance from Dungeon City.
A place with no sign of people, flowing through the plains. It’s not a very large river, but it has enough depth for a ship to navigate.
Following Sailor Brownie’s instructions, I make the shutter of the motel entrance appear in the river, at a depth where the lower part of the ship is hidden underwater. Inside the motel is a dock where a pirate ship sits.
When the shutter opens, river water flows into the dock.
The water level gradually rises, and eventually, the pirate ship floats on the water.
”Alright, bring it out.”
When I give the signal, Brownie on the ship begins operating it.
The large hull moves forward quietly and emerges from the dock.
We board the ship, following the extended gangway.
And we sail down the river.
The scenery flows by, and the wind caresses our cheeks.
”Wow!”
The girls’ eyes sparkle at the flowing scenery.
It’s different from sailing in the sea inside the dungeon. They’re enjoying the sense of speed and the scenery.
The river flow is gentle, and there’s no trouble handling the ship.
Along the way, some bridges block our path, but the solution is simple. We return the ship to the motel, walk to the other side of the bridge, redeploy the motel, and bring out the ship the same way. We proceed by repeating this process.
During the journey, we occasionally see travelers and adventurers.
Their gazes fix on the giant ship, which looks out of place in the river. They stare at us, looking suspicious or interested.
But I don’t care. If I worried about everything, we’d never move forward.
Eventually, the air changes. The smell of the tide begins to mix with the river flow.
The view opens up. Ahead, across the plains, lies the blue, wide horizon. It’s the sea.
The real sea is in front of us.
It’s a distance that would take many days if we were traveling on land. But with a ship, we can arrive in just one day. Ships are amazing.
”Is this the real sea?”
Lifia exclaims in admiration.
The sea in the dungeon was calm. In contrast, this place is like the open ocean, with high waves.
Along the coast, a port town can be seen. And many ships—transport ships, fishing boats, and more.
And our ship is very conspicuous. The large, brand-new hull reflects light, exuding a presence as a beautiful foreign object.
Soon, a small ship appears, heading toward us. It’s waving a flag at us—something eye-catching, red and yellow.
Is it some kind of signal?
While I wonder, Sailor Brownie looks a little flustered.
He’s telling us something with gestures.
”Um, it means to stay still, or don’t move? That’s what it seems.”
”It appears to be an order to stop the ship. It’s probably the kingdom’s coast guard.”
Lifia translates, and Rozmiaque supplements.
Our ship doesn’t have any flags or emblems to indicate nationality or affiliation. It’s an unidentified suspicious ship. It’s only natural they would try to confirm our identity.
This is still within the kingdom’s sphere of influence.
If we stop the ship like this, our identities will be investigated, and there’s a risk of being known to the kingdom. We can’t be caught here.
”Let’s run.”
I make an immediate decision. Our goal is the open sea.
They won’t be able to keep up with this ship’s speed. This ship has a speed that doesn’t match its size.
”Lifia, I’m counting on you.”
”Yes, Master.”
Lifia closes her eyes and chants softly. Wind is born.
The sails swell greatly, and the ship is pushed forward all at once.
With her wind magic, it’s possible to have a tailwind for us and a headwind for them.
Using the wind as an ally, we dash across the sea all at once. The scenery keeps flowing backward.
As expected, the patrol boat can’t catch up. We’re pulling away rapidly.
Soon, their figures become distant like grains of rice and disappear from sight.
We’re out at sea in no time. What spreads out there is the open sea, undisturbed by anyone.
I am free.

After that, we spent some time relaxing on the sea.
In the outdoor pool newly established as an additional facility of the Love Hotel, everyone was enjoying playing in the water as they pleased.
In a completely private setting, the barrier made it impossible to enter or even see from the outside. Perhaps because there was no need to be mindful of those around them, Lifia and Kéa were excited like children.
”Look, Master! I can swim!”
Lifia swam with a dog paddle, waving her hand happily. Her swimsuit was a frilly bikini, designed with cuteness in mind.
As for Kéa, perhaps feeling unsatisfied with the pool, she quickly dashed into the sea.
Wearing a high-leg competitive swimsuit, she dove straight off the edge of the boat and started swimming with vigor, kicking the water as she swam through the sea.
Her red hair fluttering, she swam around the boat in a bold butterfly stroke, fully enjoying her freedom.
”This is the best! Everyone, come join me!”
Kéa waved her hand and shouted from the sea, but Lifia and Yomi grimaced and shook their heads.
”W-Well, I’m fine… It’s just that I can’t touch the bottom, it’s a little scary…”
”I’ll pass too. It’s not that I can’t swim, but that’s a bit too wild for me.”
It seemed Lifia and Yomi were afraid of swimming in the sea where they couldn’t touch the bottom, so they didn’t try to swim.
As for me, I too was slightly resistant to swimming in the middle of the open ocean. Even though I didn’t worry about drowning, the bottomless dark water beneath my feet made me uneasy.
So, I decided to relax by the poolside with Tifi, who was pregnant.
I leaned back into a soft, cushioned reclining chair, basking in the sunlight while having a quiet conversation with Tifi.
She wore a loose one-piece swimsuit, and unlike her usual sharp attitude, she had a soft smile on her face.
