Volume 5 Chapter 14 Day Three: Morning

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Some time passed before I regained consciousness. Miku had stayed snuggled against me, pressing her forehead and cheeks into my chest.

 ”Miku.”

 ”…Hah!?”

Awakened by Megumi’s voice, Miku’s face turned bright red as she tried to pull away. But with our lower bodies still connected, she could not move far. She tried to lift her hips, but her legs were weak and would not hold her.

I shifted, laying Miku down on the bed to get her into a more comfortable position.

 ”Thank you… so much♡”

That tone was unique to members of the [Double Breakthrough] [Strong-Females] (Shoji’s group members) when they doted on a [Tsuyo-Osu] (Strong-Male). I had carved “myself” into Miku as well.

”Come on, don’t zone out. Cleaning up after the Master is an important job for us! Make him clean.”

 ”Ah, yes!”

Miku, awkward as she was, positioned herself in front of me and began to perform a cleaning b**job.

 ”I’ll handle this side…”

Megumi cleaned up my seed overflowing from Miku’s [place] by mouth.

I stroked Miku’s head as she took my rod into her mouth, licking it with her tongue. Her hair was just as fluffy as it looked. It felt good to pet.

”What do you want to do? Shall we say you’re sleeping with Kaharu-san after this?” Risa asked.

”Hmm… yeah, that works. I’ll sleep with Miku today.”

 ”Understood.” Megumi nodded.

Upon receiving Risa’s gaze, Megumi stood up and, together with Risa, put on their underwear and yukatas.

”Well then, see you tomorrow. Don’t be late like you were today.”

 ”Tatemiya-kun, good night.”

 ”Good night.”

Miku, her mouth filled with my [crotch-rod], could not respond. I saw the two off, enjoying Miku’s mouth-work for a while. She was quite good for her first time.

 ”Did you train?”

”A little bit… this is my first time in actual combat!”

Once everything was clean, I held Miku and we slipped into the [futon].

 ”Wuff!?”

”You’re warm, Miku. You make a good body pillow.”

 ”U… Wuff!”

Wagging her invisible tail, Miku wrapped her arms around my body and snuggled in. When I stroked her hair, she let out a soft whine. I did not hate that attitude of hers, leaning into the dog persona.

As we playfully fumbled with her hair, back, and ribs, I noticed Miku beginning to drift off. I comforted her, intending to let her sleep that way. Soon her eyelids fell and she began to breathe softly. She must have been holding a lot of tension — that is to be expected for a first time.

I closed my eyes too. Good night.

Early the next morning, as I woke to the sunlight, Miku was curled up, using my outstretched arm as a pillow.

 ”Wuff…?”

When I tickled her, her eyes opened. When she met my gaze, her face turned bright red in an instant.

”S-sorry! I’m sorry for falling asleep without realizing it!”

 ”It’s cold. Come here.”

I caught Miku as she tried to get up from the [futon]. As I held the stiff Miku, she warmed up and grew soft all over. Once she was sufficiently warm, I let her go.

 ”Uuu… Tatemiya-kun, you’re mean…”

So, Miku uses “Tatemiya-kun,” just like Megumi. Miku busily put on her clothes and gave a deep bow.

”I have to go prepare the meal, so I will take my leave. Thank you very much!”

 ”Good work.”

When I gave her a light kiss at the end, she reacted with a “Wuff!?” before clumsily hurrying out. Man, she is seriously cute, just like a dog. Maybe keeping her as a pet is an option.

Well, time for one more nap before the meeting time…

An hour later, waking from my second sleep, I ran into Chifumi upon leaving my room.

 ”Morning, Chifumi.”

 ”Mornin’~ You weren’t late today, huh~”

”Well, yeah. I’m going to the bath.”

”No one’s in there right now. Have a good one. I’ll talk to Manaka-chan later~”

 ”Roger that.”

While in the bath, I summoned Hinoki.

’You had some fun again yesterday, didn’t ya.’

 ”You bet.”

 ’About today,’

”First, I’m going to check out the dungeon. How about we see if Hinoki’s power has anything to do with that dungeon?”

 ’Okey-dokey. Seriously, thanks.’

 ”Don’t mention it.”

Hinoki does not enter the tub.

Hinoki won’t get “boiled” in a hot spring. Actually, back home, they sometimes join me in the bath. However, when they enter, their Mana as an [Aberration] tends to spread out. If it were just my group, it might be fine, but considering the effects of the [Centipede] essence, I ask them to refrain when Manaka and the others are around. The promise is to enter the hot spring at the very end of the final day.

After getting out of the bath, I changed clothes and went to the [Living room], where everyone had already gathered.

 ”Minoru, good morning.”

 ”Morning, Manaka.”

Manaka greeted me first. As I sat on the sofa, the discussion about today’s schedule began immediately.

”We’re planning to go look at the hotel dungeon first today, right?”

”It’s about an hour until my sister comes to pick us up.”

”We’re all going to take a look. Manaka, you’re going to the hot spring facility, right?”

 Manaka shook her head.

”Actually, about that, we would also like to visit the dungeon. The hot spring facility will be after that.”

”We talked about it after you all went to sleep yesterday. Risa has also given her consent~”

”If Risa is fine with it, then I’m fine with it.”

The whole bureau heading to the dungeon? Anri-san is going to be surprised.

”Also… Manaka, as requested, both of them have [Double Breakthrough]ed.”

”Yes. Thank you. I heard from Miku-san and Megumi-san just a little while ago. I’m surprised you actually pulled it off.”

”Sometimes, I have to surprise you, too.”

 ”I suppose so.”

Manaka smiled elegantly. She did not look surprised at all.

”So? Are you going to ask your questions immediately?”

 ”Yes… are you two ready?”

Megumi and Miku nodded firmly at Manaka’s inquiry.

 ”Then, Minoru, if you would.”

I threw questions at the two in their [Double Breakthrough] state. After telling them not to lie under any circumstances, I repeated questions like: Did you change the settings of the [Simulated Dungeon] device? Were you trying to kill me, or do me harm? What were you doing?

From every angle of questioning, their answers were clean. The two were not involved in that incident.

 ”I see, it’s already the [Yui-structure].”

With Manaka’s words, the questioning ended. Their innocence was proven. Chifumi voiced her thoughts in her usual manner.

 ”Surprising~ Wonder who is lying~”

”The engineer or the manufacturer of the dungeon-generation device knows it’s a lie.”

The report should have said that traces of tampering were found in the logs. At the very least, the content of the report is a bare-faced lie. Asari added a supplement to my comment.

”…The middle-aged guy in charge of the machines was replaced in the 2nd semester, right…”

”If you say the person in charge for the first semester took responsibility, that would be it, but you could also consider it a silencing. It’s too suspicious, situationally.”

As Risa said. Manaka and the others must have known that the questioning would yield this result. They look calmer compared to us.

 ”I’m glad they weren’t lying.”

 ”Seriously, I’m so glad☆”

Yui and Yuu seem to be instructing the two, and they have strong sympathy. Aside from their weird character-building and aesthetic preferences, these twins are unexpectedly sensible. They aren’t the type to make cold, ruthless judgments in an instant, like Sawa.

Sawa and Manaka remained silent. I asked for the future policy.

”Manaka, what do you plan to do about this? At the very least, there is someone, or something, that can tamper with the reports of the High School and major corporations. Are you going to stick your neck out?”

 ”…Sawa, what is your opinion?”

 ”Do nothing.”

There was no hesitation in Sawa’s words when asked by Manaka. Sawa must have naturally anticipated this situation. It looked like her opinion was already formed.

”It’s not a level of talk we can handle. As long as we don’t know who the opponent is, we shouldn’t move.”

”If the opponent is bad, we’ll get crushed, huh. If it were just within the 13th District, we could manage with the power of Kuga, but… the fact that the Head of the House isn’t moving suggests there’s a high possibility the opponent is unknown. Even if Tatemiya and Onigahara cooperated, it’s impossible against an opponent Kuga, Nieda, or Futami couldn’t do anything about.”

”Absolutely not. It’s bad if families of influence from the Imperial Capital or Old Capital get involved. The moment someone higher than Kuga appears, we’re out. Besides… Minoru, you’re misunderstanding our goal.”

 Sawa’s gaze caught mine squarely.

”We just wanted to confirm if Miku and Megumi were trustworthy allies. We don’t desire anything more than that.”

 ”Are you serious about that?”

I looked around at Miku, Megumi, and everyone in the Manaka group. Manaka’s gaze didn’t waver.

 ”Yes, just as Sawa says.”

 ”Is that really okay?”

Sawa answered, looking me straight in the face.

”It is. Let me ask you. Miku and Megumi are innocent. What happens if you appeal that now?”

”What do you mean, what happens…”

As I choked on my words, Manaka lectured me.

”Is the value of making their innocence public and getting back their [Public honor] worth walking such a dangerous bridge? It’s enough that only those who need to know that they are innocent know. If we just leave them to quietly clear their names under the protection of Kuga, everything will settle down. That is likely the development the adults around us—who know the background and want to help them—are hoping for.”

”Sawa, are you of the same opinion as Manaka?”

 ”Yeah, that’s right.”

It is against common sense for me, an outsider from another group, to oppose the opinion of the group leader. But I want to be sure.

”Are Miku and Megumi okay with that?”

 ”Yes, we are.”

”We will follow our leader’s opinion.”

Both answered without hesitation. Their will seems firm.

 ”Haa…”

I let out a sigh and looked up at the ceiling. The large fan was spinning around. Fixing my gaze on the ceiling, I asked.

”That might be fine for you… but it’s a problem for me.”

 ”……”

Manaka and Sawa remained silent. I vented my own circumstances and feelings.

”If it wasn’t Miku and Megumi, what was that incident? There was someone with malicious intent who was trying to harm me and my classmates. A simple work error? Would they blame student [sorcerer]s for the mistakes of the workers? If it were the other way around, maybe.”

”Maybe the previous machine person’s house is powerful~”

”It’s two student [sorcerer]s versus a middle-aged guy, you know? Does that ever happen?”

 Asari opened her mouth.

”That… what did Kaharu-san and Sanuki-san’s parents say?”

 ”…Just that they were disowned.”

 ”I’m much the same.”

I’ve heard that both are [Sorcerer bloodline]s of a status similar to Kasakura. A situation where two families have no choice but to give up on their daughters who claim innocence. If they believed in their daughters’ innocence to the end, then relying on Kuga’s protection was the utmost resistance they could offer.

”Just like Sawa said, the situation [bureau] and we are in doesn’t change. I’d like to just go with: they were blamed for the simple mistake of a superior. The worst-case scenario is that the ‘old me’ was resented and targeted… for now, I’ll just live my life without leaving openings. That’s about all I can do.”

”I remember the teacher was very tired after summer vacation ended~ I want to think they dealt with it~”

Chifumi’s consolation-like wishful thinking. I haven’t had any dangerous encounters since the 2nd semester. I don’t know if that’s because the problem was solved, or if it’s the calm before the storm.

The [Living room] fell silent. [bureau], it was settled that we would watch and wait.

 Let’s change the atmosphere.

”Come to think of it, you two said you had something to say if you [Double Breakthrough]ed.”

 ””!?””

Miku and Megumi reacted. What’s with that expression? They’re glancing at Manaka.

 ”Go ahead.”

With Manaka’s permission, Megumi opened her mouth.

”If, when we both [Double Breakthrough]ed, we heard what Tatemiya-kun and leader Kuga-san were saying…”

 ”In that case?”

”The right to give us our freedom.”

The right to give us our freedom? That’s abstract.

”The right to command us. As long as it doesn’t violate Kuga-san’s orders, you may use us as maidservants during our free time. Cleaning the room, practice partner for [sorcery], gathering materials, etc.”

 ”…Any instructions?”

I asked, including a lewd meaning, and the answer came immediately.

”Yes, from today, we are Tatemiya-kun’s [Housekeeper]s.”

 ”Wuff…!”

 ”I’m counting on you.”

 ””Yes, we will!””

 Miku and Megumi replied vigorously.

Meanwhile, the members of my group had a dangerous atmosphere. Mitsuki, for one, was cracking her knuckles.

”Minoru is very popular, I’m so proud~”

 ”Even though you have us…”

”Aren’t you getting too ahead of yourself?”

 ”Minoru-sama, please…”

 ”That’s… unfair.”

Manaka, who caused it, was drinking tea with a calm face. It took a little while to calm everyone down.

 —

 Summary:

Tatemiya interrogates Miku and Megumi about the dungeon incident while they are in a Double Breakthrough state. Their innocence is confirmed, leading the group to decide to maintain the status quo rather than pursue the hidden forces behind the incident. Miku and Megumi conclude the chapter by pledging their service to Tatemiya as his housekeepers.

 Trivia:

 - The machine operator in charge of dungeon generation was replaced after the first semester.

 - Hinoki’s limitation in the hot spring arises from their Mana diffusing as an Aberration.

 - The families of Kaharu and Sanuki essentially disowned their daughters after the incident.

 - Manaka and Sawa seem to be acting with a hidden awareness of the political risks involved in challenging the school’s reports.

Methodical and dominant, this analytical leader treats social dynamics as strategic networking while controlling his harem of witches (Mai, Risa, Mitsuki) through intimate instruction at a resort.

• Anri – The fourth Naruse sister and a Strong-Female living in the annex with her biological mother. Minoru’s objective childhood friend uses knives and curse arts to manifest Clams and diffuse tension in Manaka’s circle, but was ultimately eaten by the Phantom.

• Asari – A serious, tall, long-haired, curvy (E-cup) Kasakura honor student and Crystal Wall vanguard explorer. Vetted by Chifumi as a polite, “Free” girl, she is restrained compared to Mitsuki but fidgets around new peers. • Sawa – Voluptuous, bespectacled, and part of the Nieda family, this relaxed, IT-savvy student gamer is an original Shisei member and Onibara disciple. A pragmatic childhood friend who bluntly reads Minoru, she belongs to Manaka’s and Mitsuki’s circles. • Kasakura – The family name of Asari and her father.

• Mitsuki – This tall, dark-skinned Oni girl has a muscular, athletic build. A haughty, high-tension transfer student, wealthy Sumo club member, Witch, and top assassin candidate, she loves snacks and chanting about money. Using a Kanabo and recovery magic, she is Minoru’s clingy childhood friend and training rival, leaving Manaka’s group to join his winter trip and help refine his Mana.
