Today is February 14th. Valentine’s Day.
Just like Christmas, it’s a day when plain-folk (non-magical people) can escape the sorcerers’ control and spend their time freely. Recently, recognition has spread even among sorcerers that “this is the day women give sweets to friends, regardless of whether they are male or female, or to people they are indebted to.”
This is the result of confectionery companies’ marketing strategy using TV commercials. This is similar to my memories from the time I spent in Japan.
I also plan to fully “digest” this event. I’m aiming for an increase in [favorability points].
I am currently on my way to the meeting spot.
”Do you think they’ll really be there…?”
The one who muttered that beside me was Ryota. Just like at Christmas, we are acting in tandem. Note that I am not trying to farm [favorability] with Ryota.

My response drew a sharp reaction from Ryota, who was sitting next to me.

”We get along well. I’m the same,” Ryota laughed.
We decided on splitting the bill in an instant.
There’s a little over 30 minutes until cram school starts. It’s not like we have plenty of time. Being a bit short is just right for our current relationship. I chose inoffensive topics. First, about this shop.
”Actually, this is my second time here. But, I can say with confidence that the coffee and cake are delicious.”
”It’s my first time…”
”Nao, have you been here before?”
”Yeah. My senior (upperclassman) brought me,” Masuki-san answered.
”By ‘senior,’ could it be that Aikawa-senpai?”
”Yeah, that’s her.”
”I don’t really have the image of her going to cafés…”
”That’s because she’s the type of person who usually drinks coffee brewed in a beaker in the club room… She says she only goes to fashionable shops a few times a year, at crucial moments.”
It seems this shop is judged as “fashionable.” I, too, interjected into the conversation.
”Has ‘senior (upperclassman)’ been coming to school lately?”
”Ah, yes, she has. Since the second-round exam is approaching, she’s been studying the whole time. Apparently, she’s in her usual spot in the library from morning until night on her days off,” Masuki-san explained.
”She’s the master of the library, then.”

The two of us headed to a bookstore within the shopping street. This shopping street happens to have the main branch of a national bookstore chain. The selection is top-notch.
I thought while browsing for reference books that fit my own level.
We are sorcerers. At worst, I can enter the Magic Studies department without an exam. If it’s a place like Old Capital University, they will conduct an exam due to the large number of applicants, but if it’s a top university in the 13th District, we can definitely enter via recommendation.

Her identity as a serious scholar is balanced by a stylish outward appearance, highlighted by her occasional attendance at fashionable venues.
• Tatemiya – Minoru, bearer of the prestigious Tatemiya family name, is a sorcerer protagonist and head of a traditional lineage house. Specializing in electrical defensive sorcery, he guides a powerful group of women and witches (including Kotoha) to search for powers. He utilizes the Tatemiya household as a central hub to live and bond, conversing with Megumi and Minoru about regional gathering spots.
• Risa – A tall, slender, buxom Naruse guild student with twin-tails, this bold, wealthy lady stays at the Tatemiya estate (Yurina’s house). Sister to Momono and Anri, and Minoru’s primary partner, she manages family drama, cooks for the protagonist’s party, guides Yurina, and distrusts Komoda. In combat, she provides long-range support using a sniper-type magic pistol, Magic Bullets, and Snow flies.
• Manaka – Manaka Kuga is an elegant Shisei High student in a coat, sweater, and scarf; a sharp-witted circle leader and respected sorcerer using spatial and sound magic. Minoru’s childhood friend and advisor, she is calm, direct, teasingly cold, manages faction security and recruits, leads her girls, and mails chocolate to the protagonist.
• Megumi – Satsuki, a slimmed-down young sorcerer, management office member, and Manaka group leader, swiftly runs errands for peers and sends handmade chocolate to the protagonist. She is Miku’s romantic partner, shyly serves Minoru, and is polite with Tatemiya. Framed for dungeon tampering, she bears a deep grudge and reacts fiercely to harassment.
• Miku – Miku Kaharu is a student, sorcerer, and advanced Strong-Females member. Serving as a maid-like companion in Minoru’s household, she handles chores with Megumi and assists Sawa. Adopting a puppy-dog persona, she sends handmade chocolate to the protagonist and seeks his physical affection and head pats after he helped her with a school incident. • Sawa – Voluptuous and bespectacled in practical western attire, this confident, competitive Nieda student gamer is an IT-savvy Shisei member, Onibara disciple, and core strategist. Part of Manaka and Mitsuki’s circles, she controls security, uses plant magic for motion sickness, and mails chocolate to the protagonist, while bluntly complaining to him and her childhood friend Minoru.
• Yui – Yuu’s sister and a Futami twin, this blunt Shisei student has short hair with a white lock and wears eccentric pink/black gothic-lolita clothes. Minoru’s childhood friend who seeks his styling advice and a mocking monitor in Manaka’s circle, she criticizes the protagonist yet mails them chocolate. She wields knives and curse arts before being eaten by the Phantom.
• Yuu – Energetic and bubbly, this Futami twin is Mai’s sister and Yui’s twin (tied to Yui’s personality change). A Mid-guard in Manaka’s group, she guards the management office in a striped swimsuit or matching gothic-lolita fashion. Known for signature poses, sharp commentary, and mailing chocolate to Minoru, she teases him, follows Yui, and is ultimately eaten by the Phantom.
• Chifumi – Minoru’s beautiful, kimono-clad childhood friend, partner, and lead household witch. A supportive, inquisitive older sister figure who loves cooking, she fiercely protects Minoru and manages team admin. In combat, she wields immense Mana for recovery and long-range AOE freezing sorcery, using stone projectiles and ice to bind enemies. She recently received a Majo’s Tears accessory.
• Clam – Evolving from a clam via a stone, this newborn Aberration is a sorcerer specializing in Bewilderment magic. Taking a large mollusk form or a toddler guise with limited speech, this unique Phantom serves as a communication intermediary for water tank entities. Though she often questions others’ abilities, she was educated by Tempura, is deeply attached to Asari, and gets drunk on carbonated drinks.
• Doma – A member of the household who directs the protagonist out of the living room during preparations.
• Pape – A dedicated mannequin Aberration with a completely blank face who serves as a loyal butler and performs tricks. Deeply devoted to its master, it flawlessly manages chores and traditional games. It becomes invincible while motionless, can shape-shift, and wields magic dictated by its current attire, tailoring its unique abilities to perfectly assist others.
• Yurina – A stoic, black-haired Plain-folk student and samurai girl residing in Risa’s house. During a festive play, she wears an apron, cat ears, a collar, and a tail. As a confident evasion-tank vanguard in Lord Minoru/Shoji’s party, she fights alongside Mitsuki and acts as Chifumi’s protector. Trained by Anri, she uses a katana, iaijutsu, Mana, and Severing Sorcery to unleash invisible, slashing edges.
• Yuri – A cheerful and energetic first-year student at Higashi High who is a classmate of Shibuya and an acquaintance of Kibe Yurina from their middle school days. A girl known for being aggressive toward Hayato and displaying overt favoritism.
• Mitsuki – A tall, short-haired, dark-skinned OniMai clan girl with a massive, muscular build, this haughty, shy transfer student is a wealthy Sumo and assassin candidate. Koki’s sister and Minoru’s clingy friend, she aids his, Ryota, and Shoji’s teams. Wielding a chained Kanabo/Hama Kongou, this observant explorer uses Oni-fication, physical support, and status-cleansing recovery magic.
• Asari – A tall, long-haired, curvy Kasakura honor student with glasses, this analytical strategist is Minoru’s devoted partner and Risa’s future host. Close to Mari and Nagase, her home is the party’s next stop. Utilizing gauntlets to manifest crystal barriers and Silicic Armor, she is a defensive specialist knowledgeable in Aberration mechanics, currently suffering from mana exhaustion.
• Minoru – Minoru Tatemiya is a lean, plain, black-haired student, hidden Demon Lord, and reincarnated mob protagonist. This analytical narrator and Master tactician rules the 5th District using inherent, defensive, and shockwave sorcery. From his estate, he manages dungeon logistics, hosts Hinoki, and guides Majo allies (Mai, Mitsuki), while maintaining a complex, training-based relationship with Risa.
• K – A student from East Middle who followed N to National High School out of care, successfully remaining pure through N’s protection until a misunderstanding involving Anonymous Student 0008 led to her capitulation.
• Majo – A member of Minoru’s group whose presence is noted to be vital for success.
