Chapter 130 The Cat at the Shrine

The next day. I had already earned enough from my part-time job, and normally I would have thought about heading back to the other world today. But right now, I was at a shrine in the suburbs with Reika.
Actually, in yesterday’s discussion with Ami-chan, the topic came up that it would be better for Reika to get used to her Magical Girl¹ powers.
Unlike the other world, it’s difficult for Reika to transform into a Magical Girl in Japan. However, there are things only a Magical Girl can do, like flying through the sky or erecting barriers. The talk was that she would need time to practice those skills.
And so, we decided to push back our return to the other world until tomorrow and perform Reika’s Magical Girl skill training today.
”It’s true… there don’t seem to be any people here…” Reika said.
”Yes. I think it will be fine to transform into a Magical Girl here,” she added.
In urban areas, there’s a chance of being seen. On the other hand, even if we were in a private room, she wouldn’t be able to fly around freely once she transformed. That’s why Reika set her sights on this old shrine in the suburbs. The grounds are cramped, and if you go a bit further in, it becomes unpaved mountain terrain. There are plenty of trees, and there’s no sign of anyone managing the shrine.
Since it isn’t a particularly famous shrine, tourists won’t go out of their way to come here. At most, a local might visit once in a while… or so it seemed. I think this is the perfect spot for Magical Girl training. There’s only one entrance to the grounds, so we’ll know immediately if someone comes. And if it comes down to it, we can just move deeper into the mountains.
By the way, Reika-lady’s outfit for today was a miniskirt. A white shirt with a navy blue miniskirt that had white lines on it. She also had socks that reached up to her thighs, and her usual white headband on her head. It was the outfit of a perfectly traditional and refined young lady. Honestly, I just want to have sex with Reika in this outfit.
(If we did it here… since it’s not a daytime spot with foot traffic, I probably wouldn’t be able to satisfy the Slave of Love² conditions…)

”Well then… I’m going to transform,” Reika said.
Blood was starting to gather in my lower half, but Reika finally began her transformation.

Even though it was only her second time, how dignified her behavior was. There wasn’t a hint of embarrassment in her voice; rather, it felt like strong confidence.

And so, after a long time, the sky-blue Magical Girl wearing a high-leg leotard appeared before my eyes. Her signature pose was perfect. Also, despite looking completely like a Magical Girl, the fact that she holds a katana is wonderful. I feel like I’m awakening to a new fetish.
”Yes, yes, this feels good! Alright, Celestite! Let’s start by practicing flying through the sky!” she said.
”Yes,” Celestite replied.
Now then… after watching for a bit, maybe I’ll go keep watch at the shrine entrance. My job is to let Celes-chan know if someone comes.
It was the moment I thought that. Both of Ami-chan’s eyes glowed Sun Color.
”!? Ami-chan…!? Your eyes…!?” I asked.
”Eh…” Celestite muttered.
It happened only a few seconds after Reika transformed into Celestite. What on earth…!?
”This… this place has become an Eye of Fate⁴…!?” Ami-chan said.
”Eh!?” I exclaimed.
”……? What’s wrong, you two?” Celestite asked.
Since Reika doesn’t know about Ami-chan’s Sun Color Demonic Eye, she doesn’t understand why our behavior changed. I want to explain, but Ami-chan’s talk comes first.
”Ami-chan. You mean here… no way…” I said.
”Yeah. For some reason, it seems this place suddenly became an Eye of Fate,” she replied.
Here, Celes-chan, who doesn’t have much information, nodded as if she understood.
”So, right now, this very place has become the land of destiny that will decide our fate… is that it?” she asked.
”Yeah… well, that’s basically right…” Ami-chan replied.
Celes-chan is amazing. To be able to read that much just from the phrase ‘Eye of Fate’…
But the fate Ami-chan sees could also be a good one. In the past, she was able to meet Cleonora because of it. Perhaps we’ll meet a new Magical Girl candidate… the moment I thought that.
Plink… I heard a faint sound like a ringing in my ears. Ami-chan was the one who reacted to it.
”The entire space has been set as a target for recognition-blocking…!?” Ami-chan said.
”Eh!?” I asked.
”Someone has changed the area around the shrine into a space that’s hard for ordinary people to notice! The one who would do this is…!” she added.
”A pursuer!” I shouted.
This is the worst…! A pursuer noticed Ami-chan was here and made it so others wouldn’t notice this space…! They’re totally up for a fight…!
With my heart pounding, I looked toward the entrance of the grounds. Appearing there was a single black cat.
”Eh…” I muttered.
”A cat…?” Celestite asked.
Even if recognition-blocking works on humans, maybe it has no effect on animals…?
But just a moment later, three girls showed their faces from behind the cat.
”Dum-chan! The location changed all of a sudden…!?” one asked.
”We were supposed to be in the park until just now, weren’t we…?” another added.
”Hey, Ducky. What’s going on?” the third asked.
My first impression upon seeing those three was that they were incredibly cute girls. The one who spoke to Ducky was a tall girl with a shortcut. She’s probably even taller than Vectra-san.
Her face is beautiful, she has breasts, and I’d believe it if someone said she was a model. Or rather, she looks like a straight-up celebrity. The girl who seemed relatively calm, or rather looked like a class rep, was also a beauty. Speaking of black-haired refined types, Reika is one too, but this girl has straight-cut bangs and seems like the serious type.

”But from the look of it, it seems you can’t display your original power either, can you? At most, you can probably only take your true form for about five seconds?” Ami-chan asked.
’It seems you have not yet regained your original power either?’ the cat replied.
”Well, yeah. Anyway. What’s the deal? Dum-chi, you can’t do something as clever as setting up a recognition-blocking space, can you? There’s at least one more person hiding somewhere, right?” Ami-chan asked.
’I have no need to tell you that. And do not call my name so familiarly.’
Ah… speaking of which, Ami-chan mentioned before. Combat types aren’t very good at things like search abilities. It seems Ami-chan thinks there’s another pursuer who excels in those skills.
’It is I who should ask: what is the meaning of this?’ the cat said.
”Hmm? What is?” Ami-chan asked.

”No, no, no way. But I see. I get it now. You guys were keeping your antennas up for the presence of a Magical Girl. Since a Magical Girl was born here, you caught that wave and came flying in,” Ami-chan said.

What does that mean…? The pursuers were wary of the Magical Girl’s presence…? Here, I remember the cat’s words from earlier. It said that looking at Ami-chan, she still hadn’t regained her original power. The seal on Ami-chan’s power is broken as the number of Slave of Love increases. A Slave of Love is an existence that has reached Affection Level 100 and sworn love and loyalty to the Dominator⁷ (Quester⁸). Thinking that far, I understood why they were sensitive to the Magical Girl’s presence.
(I see…! A Magical Girl is almost synonymous with a Slave of Love… or a future Slave of Love! If they check their numbers, they can use it as a measure of how much power Ami-chan has regained!)
Ami-chan is certainly in this vicinity. To prevent her from regaining that power, they had set up a system where they could act immediately if they felt a Magical Girl’s presence…!
’…It seems we have talked too much. There are things I want to confirm… but if I slaughter you here, that won’t matter either,’ the cat said.
”Oh boy. So, what do you plan to do? Do you think you can kill me in that short time by taking your true form as a gamble?” Ami-chan asked.
’There is no need for that. How to manifest my power in this world… that problem has already been solved. …O maidens,’ the cat said.
”Eh!? Eh!?” I shouted.
”…It seems the time has come,” the girl with glasses said.
”They don’t look like such bad people, though… Well, I guess this is also to make my wish come true…” the shortest girl muttered.
Saying so, the three beautiful girls stepped out next to the cat.

• Dum Dum Key – A powerful being, who has taken the form of a stray cat. He is a major figure on a mission to defeat the ‘Orgoamii, the Disrobing Empress of Disaster’ and requires aid—and more of the delicious ‘NN Churuu’.
