Chapter 186 The Man with a New Name

In the end, I spent all of yesterday with the three managers. While I am thinking about helping them grow as Magical Girl¹, I want us to keep having a good time together from now on.

To get to the Holy City, we decided to teleport to the capital of the Republic first. We will fly from there.
The road from the capital to the Holy City is in good shape. As long as we head in the right way, we should not get lost. I am following the advice of Liliarette for this plan.
Also, the capital seems closer to our goal. I am glad I worked hard to reach the capital with Aris and the others before.
And so, we teleported to the capital. The group has me, Ami-chan, Aris, and Emerald.
Someone in the capital might know the face of Cleonora. So, she changed into Emerald and wore clothes that look like a commoner.
It seems Cleonora has been to the Holy City two times in the past.
”Before we go to the Holy City, let’s say hello to Lambdaine-san,” the King of the Magic Labyrinth suggested.
I actually brought a wooden box filled with white sugar. It is a gift because he helped me and taught me many things last time even though he was busy.
If Lambdaine-san is at home, I will say hello. If he is not there, I will give the sugar to the servants and go to the Holy City.
If Aris gives it to them, the servants will surely keep it very safe.
With that thought, we went to the big Lambdaine House. He was there. We were quickly taken to the meeting room.
”Yo, King of the Magic Labyrinth. Why are you here so early?” Council Member Lambdaine asked.
Lambdaine-san… he looks as full of life as ever. I am sure his business is doing well. His power as a Council Member⁴ must be growing too.
I gave the wooden box to Lambdaine-san first. When he saw what was inside, his eyes went wide.
”Is this… that white sugar?” Lambdaine asked.
”Yes. I was able to get a little bit for you,” the King of the Magic Labyrinth replied.
I have enough money now, so I can bring more from Japan. But white sugar in this world is something that the Holy City controls tightly. I must be careful with it.
”Hey, King. I will get the gold ready. Can you get me some more…?” Lambdaine asked.
”If you want that much, you must be planning to do more than just eat it yourself, right? How do you plan to use it?” Emerald asked.
Emerald spoke up right away. She has never backed down when talking to Lambdaine-san, even from the first time they met.
I think this is because of her royal training.
Liliarette likes to make deals, but Cleonora does not seem like that. However, once a deal begins, she naturally speaks with a strong voice.
She probably knows exactly what she can give up and what she cannot while she talks. If I were alone, the pressure from Lambdaine-san might have been too much for me.

If he does that, he might get their sugar for a lower price. Or maybe he wants them to give him something else so he stays quiet about this new sugar.
Either way, he is thinking of things I would not know because I am not a politician. Emerald also thought of some ways to use the sugar.
”…I see. A leader of the Republic having sugar that is not from the Holy City… if you show that card correctly, you can shake their power,” Emerald said.
”That is it,” Lambdaine replied.
”And… if they ask where the sugar came from, you will say the King of the Magic Labyrinth gave it to you, right? Then the King’s name will grow even more…” Emerald continued.
”And then, the only Council Member who can trade with the King will be even more important in this Republic!” Lambdaine shouted.
Wow… he said it himself. Seeing this, I know Lambdaine-san is a true politician.
Even for the Holy City, it would be hard to stop someone who lives deep in the Demon Forest. They can only reach the King through Lambdaine-san.
”The name of the King of the Magic Labyrinth is well known now! The more it spreads, the more power I get!” Lambdaine said.
”Is that what you wanted?” Emerald asked.
”Pretty much. but you can use my name too. If I am strong, it is good for you, right?” Lambdaine asked.
I have not used his help at all yet, though! Aris seemed to think the same. She tilted her head in a cute way.
”Hey, Grandfather. We are thinking of going to the Holy City now,” Aris said.
”Oh… can you teleport there too?” Lambdaine asked.
”Even for you, we cannot show the King’s power so easily. So, I have a plan… how about this?” Aris asked.
Aris had a surprising idea. She wants to use Lambdaine-san’s name to do business in the Holy City.
She was with us when we talked before. She might have already been thinking of a plan to get money from other countries.
”So, you will not use the King’s name in the Holy City. You will be a normal merchant?” Lambdaine asked.
”Yes. We will not sell farm goods, so we are not your rivals. And we will use a fake name, so your special spot as the King’s trade partner stays safe,” Aris explained.
Lambdaine-san looked at her like he found a fun toy.
”Hoh… but only citizens of the Holy City can do business there. You cannot sell things there,” Lambdaine said.
”Eh…!?” the King of the Magic Labyrinth gasped.
”…Really? Then how do you sell the goods from the Demon Forest, Grandfather?” Aris asked.
”People from the Holy City can go to other lands to trade. Also, foreigners can sell to the shops in the Holy City. They just cannot sell to the people directly,” Lambdaine explained.
I see. We cannot start a big business that stays in the city. If a foreigner wants a shop, they need to be a citizen. That is probably hard.
Because it is a city-state, the Holy City protects its own merchants. They do not want outsiders to come in and mess up the market.
Usually, that makes the economy slow, but the Holy City has many rare things, so it works.
”Back to the topic. The Kelna Merchant Guild⁵ has a partner guild in the city. They are a big group. My letter of help will work there even for a merchant with no name,” Lambdaine said.
”Eh…!?” the King of the Magic Labyrinth gasped.
”You can use my name. What do you think?” Lambdaine asked.
So, I can sell goods without using my real title. I have enough money now because of the Balz⁶ I earn here.
But it is good to have money from the Holy City too. They sell rare things. Their money is likely strong.
I should have money from many lands if I want to live here. It is a time of war, and money can become trash at any time.
”I understand. I will prepare more sugar. It will take time,” the King of the Magic Labyrinth said.
”Oh! Now you are talking! I will write the letter now. What are you going to sell?” Lambdaine asked.
I talked about this with everyone. I should not be shy, but it is a bit weird to say it in front of Aris.
”Well… I was thinking of selling very good items to stop pregnancy and… items to help with sex…” the King of the Magic Labyrinth muttered.

”They are the best!” Aris said with pride.
Aris was the one who answered. Well, I have used them with her many times… It is hard to look at Lambdaine-san’s face now!
”Gahaha! If Aris says so, they must be good! I will write a great letter for you. By the way, what name will you use as a merchant?” Lambdaine asked.
We thought about many names and could not choose. In the end, we picked one by luck.
I told Lambdaine-san my new name.
My other name in this world… “Vulcain.”

• Viorga – The First Princess of the Emmeld Kingdom. She is a beautiful, young woman with long golden hair and sharp blue eyes, always dressed in an elaborate crimson and gold royal gown. She is utterly ruthless, viewing all people—including the summoned Heroes and her own family—as disposable assets in her political games. Looks like Aileen Lauren from certain series.
• Ami – A palm-sized fairy-like being from a world separate from both Earth and the isekai realm. She has light blue hair tied in a ponytail, mischievous blue eyes, and tiny wings that flutter behind her. Her outfit consists of a provocative high-cut leotard and a short jacket that looks like a miniskirt from the back, leaving her legs bare. Despite her playful appearance, she is actively searching for a contractor who can protect her from dangerous pursuers in exchange for the powers she offers.
• Liliarette – The other Princess, who sacrificed her ability to walk and her sorcery talent to save her sister, Cleonora. She is imprisoned in the East Tower and is being used as a political and monetary pawn by Viorga. C-cup, true golden hair, waist-length hair, the fringe was a slightly blunt, hair on her left side was braided to the chest.
• Emerald – Magical Girl version of Cleonora. Smaller, side-tailed, green-and-white mini-skirted girl.
• Cleonora – The second princess. Have a yellow blonde hair. Usually styled as hairbun. D-cup.
• Lambdaine – A powerful Councilor of the Shital Republic and a successful merchant who built his fortune from nothing. He is the grandfather of Iris and Aris.
• Reika – A beautiful high school kendo student who is engaged to ‘The Handsome’ for what seems like familial or arranged reasons. She is a ‘guarded’ beauty. Sha has long black hair, intense eyes, and wearing kendo uniform.
