Chapter 21 The Man Who Learned the Secret of the Great Phantasmal Soulstone

First, we laid out what we each wanted and what our major concerns were.
”The Dominion’s security, the future of our living situation, and stabilizing our Resource Points and Ego Points. That’s basically it for now, right?” I asked, looking at the floating fairy.
”For the time being, yeah. If we can develop the Dominion properly, all that will be solved. But what do we need right now? I’m counting on Cleonora’s little sister to become a Magic Girl for our combat power.” Ami-chan said, her voice bright but utterly ruthless.
”Which means we need to speed up Cleonora’s conversion to a Slave of Love…” The thought of forcing Cleonora to offer up her own sister no longer caused me any hesitation.
”In my estimation, we can do that pretty soon,” Ami-chan continued. “By the way, if pursuers were to sniff out this place right now… Cleonora wouldn’t stand a chance against them.”
”Seriously!?” I exclaimed, the reality of our situation hitting me again.
We had originally talked about making more Magic Girls because we were worried about pursuers. But now, it seemed Cleonora alone wouldn’t be able to fight them off at all.
”So, all we can do is pray that we don’t get found until Cleonora has grown stronger… is that the deal?”
”If we’re found at this exact moment, we’d have no choice but to manifest one of the strongest Maids.” Ami-chan replied, sighing.
”Oh, that would fix things?”
”It might, but the maintenance cost is so high that a long-term fight would be impossible. Plus, our Ego Points would pretty much vanish,” she warned, emphasizing the sheer expenditure.
It seemed like a last resort. Besides, if we manifested a Maid that powerful, it would be a shame to just let her disappear. Ideally, I’d want to keep her, even with the high cost. For that to happen, we needed to expand the Dominion even further and find a more efficient way to earn Resource Points.
”So, expanding our combat strength is key… Do you sense any sign of pursuers yet?” I pressed.
”Not yet, no. They probably never imagined we’d move from Earth to another world entirely, I bet.” Ami-chan reminded me that she was originally from a world that was neither Earth nor this fantasy realm.
”I think there are still a few pursuers in Japan. I don’t think they’ll figure out we’re in this world for a while yet.”
”Hearing that makes going back to Japan sound like a huge risk, then…”
”It is, kinda. But there are a ridiculous number of people there, so we could probably make it work somehow.”
Ami-chan didn’t seem too worried about the risks. Still, there’s no Dominion in Japan, and any Maid I manifested there would only last a few seconds. I’d need to be careful with everything.
”Besides, there’s a massive advantage to moving to Japan, even if pursuers are there.”
”There is? Like what?”
”By regularly leaving the scent of my presence in Japan, we can keep this headquarters hidden. After all, they know that if they shatter the Great Phantasmal Soulstone, it’s game over.” Ami-chan’s words sent a terribly ominous feeling down my spine, and I voiced my fear immediately.
”Wait… what do you mean by… game over?” I stuttered out, suddenly terrified.
”Exactly what it sounds like. Shou would die, and I would just be a powerless, cute little fairy.”
”Huh… What the actual hell!?”
Another brand-new rule I’d never heard before! What, if this Great Phantasmal Soulstone gets smashed, I die!?
”My previous contractor had their Great Phantasmal Soulstone shattered in the last world~. Though his lack of power was a big factor in that outcome, too.”
”Ngh…” The shock was immense. So the previous Quester had already been killed. And they were able to defeat a Quester despite him having such incredible power? What about the Magic Girl he’d made a contract with then?
”So, the bottom line is that we absolutely need to keep the existence of this base a secret,” she concluded, completely unconcerned by my existential crisis.
”Ah… the reason you chose this area as our headquarters was…”
”Exactly. There aren’t any people nearby, right? And it looked like a good place to start building. We wanted to expand the Dominion somewhere as isolated from the civilized world as possible. Of course, with this much power, we’d have all sorts of people flocking to us.”
If I were a ruler, and a Quester suddenly appeared, I’d certainly put measures in place to instantly destroy his Great Phantasmal Soulstone. I’d keep the Quester powerless, unable to resist, and ready to be killed instantly if anything went wrong. If I could think of that much, then someone smarter would have devised even more brutal tactics.
”It’s true that starting in a place like this has the disadvantage of making early development slow. But once we get through the initial phase, we can develop without any interference. The ideal scenario is that when they finally realize we’re here, our Dominion is already too powerful for them to touch!” Ami-chan announced triumphantly.
I thought she’d chosen this spot on a whim, but it seemed Ami-chan had actually thought the whole thing through.
”Listen carefully: we can’t let anyone but us and the Slaves of Love inside the Great Phantasmal Soulstone area, okay?”
”Y-yeah… I understand.”
Even as a peaceful Japanese guy, I could grasp the gravity of this. No matter how much power or how strong a Dominion I built, if that crystal got smashed, everything would be reduced to nothingness.
”So, to hide the fact that we’re using this world as our base, we’ll leave a trace of your presence in Japan?”
”That’s right! I also want to try bringing things from Japan over here and converting them into Resource Points~. This is a first for me, too, but we might be able to create something absolutely unbelievable!”
Ami-chan had managed to connect a ‘path’ between Japan and this world using the Hero Summoning magic circle. World travel wasn’t easy and required unique conditions to align. At least now we had a rough idea of our next steps.
”Have sex with Cleonora to build up Ego Points and complete her Slave of Love conversion. Once the Dominion’s defenses are solid, we move to Japan for a while. As for Cleonora’s sister, we wait until Eme-chan is strong enough… something like that?” I summarized our plan.
”Yep! And once we can create items that can be converted into cash, we should leave the forest and try selling them in a nearby town! The money we earn can be used to buy things we need for our life here. Plus, we might even buy things with better Resource Point conversion efficiency!” Ami-chan marveled.
She said that having Eme-chan as a bodyguard should be enough to keep us safe until we left the forest. And hey, I have Water Splendor Flash now! Maybe we really could pull this off.
”Say, Ami-chan, since you can travel between worlds, you can jump through space, right? Can you use the same principle to instantly move to other towns?” I wondered, thinking of the convenience.
”It’s not the exact same principle, but I could do it with Ego Points if I’ve been to that place before.”
Oh wow… that’s incredibly handy!
”But that’s something I can only do once my seal has been partially broken. It’s impossible right now.”
Which means no teleporting back to the kingdom that summoned me. Ami-chan’s seal breaks as the number of Slaves of Love increases. It looks like I need to actively focus on increasing their numbers.
With our objectives aligned, I immediately pulled up the Dominion map on the Great Phantasmal Soulstone and got to work as a Quester. We were focusing on building up defenses around the central house. I had another moat dug outside the perimeter and lined up newly created fences. The setup wasn’t designed with urban planning or city streets in mind; it was purely defensive. Since I can always flatten the land if needed, and Eme-chan is our only current fighting force, I wouldn’t worry about the aesthetics.

”We can create wooden stakes now, too,” I noticed on the building menu.
”That’s great! We can install those at the bottom of the moat or attach them to the fence to prevent Demon Monster incursions, don’t you think?” Ami-chan suggested excitedly.
”Definitely…” I agreed. Though it cost Resource Points, safety was worth more. I certainly didn’t want to hear a Demon Monster’s roar while I was enjoying my nightly activities…
Once the defenses were in place, I moved on to improving the inside of the house. I replaced the bed with a new one—the old one had been quite messy from the bodily fluids yesterday.
”I really wish we had a bath…” I muttered.
And a flushing toilet. We’re still having to go outside. Since we can dig a moat inside the Dominion, I’m sure we can set up minimum sewage facilities. I also feel bad for Cleonora, who also has to go outside.
”If you want to raise your standard of living, you need to convert all sorts of things into Resource Points! And raise your Quester Level!” Ami-chan cheered me on.
”Right…” I mumbled. I’m still a Dominator beginner, I guess. I just have to keep plugging away at this.

Summary:
The chapter is a crucial strategy session between Quester Shou and his fairy guide, Ami-chan, revealing the extremely high stakes of the Dominion system. They outline the plan: accelerating Cleonora’s Slave of Love conversion for power, using the Hero Summoning path to travel to Earth for high-value resources, and maintaining a decoy operation to hide their base.
The turning point is Ami-chan’s bombshell: the Great Phantasmal Soulstone is the source of Shou’s power and life, and if it’s shattered, he dies immediately. This existential threat spurs Shou into serious base-building, leading to the construction of a moat and wooden stake defenses. Despite the grim reality of forced enslavement and possible death, Shou’s most pressing concerns are surprisingly mundane: the urgent need for a bath and a flushing toilet.

Character Insight:
Shou, the protagonist, is struggling to reconcile his ordinary Japanese background with the dark fantasy reality of his Quester role. He is easily shocked by the system’s cruel rules (like instant death) but is quickly forced to accept morally dubious actions (like enslaving a sister) for survival. Ami-chan, while cute in appearance, is the cold, pragmatic system’s voice, driving the ruthless agenda forward.

Behind the Scene:
This chapter is essential for establishing the Dominion’s critical vulnerability. The Great Phantasmal Soulstone is the Achilles’ heel, explaining why Shou must hide his location at all costs, even by creating decoys on Earth. The mention of his predecessor’s death reinforces the danger. The focus on basic amenities like plumbing grounds the high-fantasy concept in relatable, almost comical urgency, showing the contrast between god-like power and primitive living.
Notes:
• Cleonora – The second princess. Have a yellow blonde hair. Usually styled as hairbun.
• Ami – A palm-sized fairy-like being from a world separate from both Earth and the isekai realm. She has light blue hair tied in a ponytail, mischievous blue eyes, and tiny wings that flutter behind her. Her outfit consists of a provocative high-cut leotard and a short jacket that looks like a miniskirt from the back, leaving her legs bare. Despite her playful appearance, she is actively searching for a contractor who can protect her from dangerous pursuers in exchange for the powers she offers.
