Chapter 24 The Dominator Acquires the Slave of Love

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The next morning, I left Cleonora sleeping soundly and moved to the Great Phantasmal Soulstone chamber with Ami-chan to check my current status.

”Whoa…!” I exclaimed as the system interface appeared.

 [Class Name: Dominator〈Quester〉 Level 2]

 [Ego Skills: 〈Rear-Climax〉, 〈Affection Surge – Rear〉, 〈Oral Apphrodisiac – Light〉]

 [Slave of Love Skill: 〈Fushinju〉]

 [Dominator Skills: 〈Water Splendor Flash〉, 〈Color Change〉]

A new entry was listed under Slave of Love Skill! Though, that Color Change skill still felt incredibly useless!

 ”Ami-chan! Is this…!” I questioned.

”Yup! This is the new skill you gained from making Cleonora your 〈Slave of Love〉! I managed to regain a little of my power, too!” Ami-chan affirmed, happily flitting around.

Since her seal can only be broken by increasing the number of 〈Slave of Love〉 contracts, she must have felt this was a major step forward.

”But what exactly does this skill do? And how do you even read that?” I pressed her for details.

”Well, the effect is pretty simple. It casts a minor bad luck curse on one target per day,” Ami-chan clarified, sounding a little underwhelming herself.

”Huh!? That’s… that’s really weak, isn’t it!?” I asked, genuinely surprised.

Seriously, a curse that *might* bring a *little* misfortune? And only once per day? I didn’t even know what level of misfortune we were talking about.

”It’s probably influenced by Cleonora’s class, Sorcerer, you see. The duration of the curse is also unknown,” Ami-chan noted casually.

 ”Seriously…”

”Besides, when your Quester Level is low, the skill effects aren’t all that strong. As for the name… you can call it whatever. 〈Fushinju〉 or 〈Your Misfortune is My Happiness〉—totally up to you,” she responded with a playful sass.

So, the strength of the Slave of Love Skill was also tied to the Quester Level. From her description, it sounded like this skill would have pretty limited usefulness for now.

”But wait. If the skill is influenced by Cleonora’s class, that means if she wasn’t a Sorcerer, I’d have gotten a different skill, right? Is that how the Class Lottery works?” I asked, connecting another system mechanic.

”Exactly. The Quester grants the class, and once the conditions are met—the Slave of Love contract—that power is imparted to the Quester himself. You can think of it that way,” Ami-chan explained.

I realized that adding 〈Slave of Love〉 partners was immensely beneficial to me. Plus, a Slave of Love Skill consumes no Magic Power or system points. The only drawbacks were the cool-down periods or usage limits. Though, the one I just got was limited to one person per day, so there was no real interval to worry about.

”Wait. If the power of the granted class only gets imprinted on me if the person is a 〈Slave of Love〉, then what about the classes I gave the maids?” I thought aloud.

The maids, who are fundamentally flawless automatons, cannot be made 〈Slave of Love〉, though I can still assign them classes. What happens then? Ami-chan answered my question almost instantly.

”Good catch! The conclusion is that the classes given to the maids can absolutely never be imparted to the Quester. There’s only one reason: they cannot be made a 〈Slave of Love〉,” Ami-chan stated simply.

”I knew it… You said before that the Class Lottery doesn’t have repeats, right? So, even if a maid draws a super-rare class, it won’t be reflected as a Slave of Love Skill for me?” I confirmed.

I didn’t know what other classes were out there, but it felt like a waste. Since it contributed to my own growth, I wanted to grant classes to my Magic Girls whenever possible.

”There are no class repeats. But if the current owner of a class disappears, that class becomes available to be assigned again,” Ami-chan clarified.

 ”Huh…?”

”For example, remember the class you assigned to the maid who appeared when we were first attacked by a demon monster?” she prompted.

That was right after I had been dropped into the forest. I had the maid defeat a demon monster for me.

”I think it was Lancer?” I tried to recall.

”Correct! But that maid disappeared quickly because she couldn’t be sustained, right? If you were to use the Class Lottery now, you could potentially get Lancer again,” Ami-chan revealed.

I understood now—that was the meaning of ‘no repeats.’ Classes weren’t a one-time thing; any class that was currently unoccupied could be drawn in the lottery.

”And by the way, you don’t actually *need* to assign classes to the maids in the first place,” she added.

 ”Seriously!?” I exclaimed.

”Yep. But since they’re constantly having to go outside the safe zone, I wanted them to have the minimum strength required to escape a demon monster—or at least buy Shouichi some time to get away. That’s why I’m assigning low-level maids classes,” Ami-chan explained her pragmatic rationale.

Right… I’d been operating under the assumption that the maids wouldn’t even move without a class assignment. It turns out they were active either way.

”If a current low-level maid has a really good class, I’m planning on disposing of her at some point,” Ami-chan disclosed, her tone chillingly casual.

 ”Wha—!” I stammered.

She was a devil! She was treating them like mere tools! Which they were, technically, but their human appearance still made me feel uneasy.

”Especially the Axe Knight is a waste on that maid. Depending on the number of Magic Girls we get, I might just discard her,” Ami-chan confessed.

”Well… let’s just think about that later…” I suggested, feeling slightly sick.

Ami-chan’s future plan, by the way, was to mass-produce low-level maids and assign classes to all of them once we had surplus points. If they didn’t draw a good class, she’d leave them alone. This would increase the probability of a good class showing up later, utilizing the ‘no repeats’ rule. But that would take years to achieve.

”Besides, almost every class has some good points,” she insisted.

”So it’s about how you use it? Well, I don’t know the difference between a good class and a bad one, and with the Class Lottery, I guess I can’t really say much,” I muttered.

In any case, the goal of making Cleonora a 〈Slave of Love〉 was complete. I felt like I had genuinely taken a step forward.

To think, a woman so completely devoted to me was a first in my life. A person I could enjoy however I liked, someone on whom I could completely unleash my desires. Just thinking about the life I’d spend with her made a smile spread across my face.

”Heh… a beautiful woman like that, all mine…!”

”Your thoughts are leaking out. Oh, that reminds me. While a 〈Slave of Love〉 is completely obedient to the Quester and their Affection Level is fixed at 100, you need to be careful how you treat her!” Ami-chan warned, cutting through my fantasy.

”Wait… what do you mean?” I asked, the warning catching me off guard.

She obeys everything I say, right? I didn’t think I needed to worry about how I treated her.

”Unlike the maids, a 〈Slave of Love〉 is a human being with a fully established personality. They obviously possess a thinking brain and emotions. If you treat them like a convenient pet or repeatedly make remarks that disrupt their feelings, it can distort the 〈Slave of Love’s〉 psyche,” Ami-chan explained, her voice turning serious.

 ”…Huh?”

”The specific effects depend on their personality and upbringing, of course. But some individuals might decide that killing their master, the Quester, and then killing themselves is the only way to realize true love… that’s a potential outcome,” she detailed, her words shocking.

”ARE YOU SERIOUS!?” I practically yelled.

”Or maybe they’ll decide that using violence or taking a hostage to force the Quester to comply is ultimately better for their master, and then act on that judgment?” she proposed, twisting the knife further.

 ”…!!” I gasped, my self-serving glee vanishing.

What the hell?! So this was a ‘handle with extreme caution’ scenario?!

”What you shouldn’t misunderstand is that this is not a state of simple dependency. Especially a guy like Shou tends to act like an abuser when he has a convenient woman nearby, forgetting where the boundaries are,” Ami-chan chastised me directly.

 ”I wouldn’t do that!?” I defended myself.

 Probably…!

”In conclusion, the 〈Slave of Love〉 is not a convenient toy given to Shou! As long as you respect her as an individual, you shouldn’t run into too much trouble!” Ami-chan finished.

Ami-chan’s words startled me, but in hindsight, it was only natural. Nobody wants their personhood denied or their dignity violated. However, if she hadn’t said anything, I might have unconsciously become arrogant. I could have easily treated the 〈Slave of Love〉 like a pet who simply obeys my every command.

I, of all people, hated being treated that way. I felt like I was getting an emotional education ever since I contracted with Ami-chan. Even though I was a grown man…

”…I’ll take that to heart. Cleonora is Cleonora. I won’t do anything to undermine her dignity,” I promised myself and her.

”But you’ve certainly used a lot of skills to undermine her dignity!” Ami-chan quipped, unable to resist a final jab.

”You ruined the moment!” I snapped, defeated by the truth.

I couldn’t argue with that! But it was fine. A guy like me wouldn’t get close to a beautiful princess like Cleonora without those skills. And since my life was on the line, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them. I wouldn’t risk death just to avoid using a skill—I’ll keep using them whenever I need to.

My relentless self-interest proved just how strong my Ego was. That was why Ami-chan had targeted me in the first place, and I didn’t see anything wrong with it.

”So, now that you’ve got plenty of Ego Points… shall we go?” Ami-chan proposed, changing the subject back to the trip.

”Huh? Where to?” I asked, momentarily forgetting the plan.

 ”Japan.”

 —

 Summary:

Shou checks his status and is excited to see a new ‘Slave of Love Skill,’ Fushinju (Minor Curse), granted by Cleonora’s Sorcerer class. He and Ami-chan discuss the mechanics of class recycling, where low-level maids who acquire valuable classes can be ‘disposed of’ to free up the class for the lottery. Most importantly, Ami-chan delivers a crucial warning: the ‘Slave of Love’ contract guarantees obedience and affection but does not erase the person’s identity. If treated as a mere object or pet, the ensuing psychological distress could lead to catastrophic outcomes, including the partner deciding to kill Shou as an act of ‘true love.’ Shou is shocked but accepts the need for respect. With his Ego Points stocked up, Ami-chan urges him to move forward with the trip to Japan.

 —

 Character Insight:

Shou’s innate selfishness (ego) is reinforced as he views Cleonora primarily as a possession, immediately fantasizing about his total control. Ami-chan, though a system, acts as a moral check, forcing Shou to confront the human cost of his powers and the complexity of the ‘Slave of Love’ contract, revealing her own pragmatic priority for system stability over Shou’s debauchery.

 —

 Behind the Scene:

This chapter is vital for defining the limits and risks of the central ‘Slave of Love’ power system. It establishes that while the contract grants control, it is not a ‘mind-break’ and retains the partner’s core personality, creating a constant tension and emotional hazard for the protagonist if he fails to show basic respect. The impending move to Japan sets up the next arc.
