Chapter 39 The Man Who Had a Timed Mission Start on Him
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Ami-chan…! I’m going to be with Liliarette tonight…!” I declared, my voice a mix of anxiety and determination.
”It’s great you’re so motivated! You were so incredibly nervous when you had your first time with Cleonora, you know? But there are a few things you have to watch out for, alright?” Ami-chan chirped.
”Huh…?”
Ami-chan spun around and floated down until she was right at my eye level.

”First, we’re talking about moving her Affection Level from minus 30 all the way to 20, aren’t we? Doesn’t that mean you need to gain 50 Affection Levels?”
”That’s right,” I confirmed.
”Do you remember when you managed to raise Cleonora’s Affection Level past 50?”
Of course I remembered. It was my very first time, after all. The waves of excitement from my first intimate encounter and first inner-body release had been overwhelming. I had just kept thrusting without pause, half-conscious, driven purely by instinct.
”That time, you really did raise her Affection Level from 1 to 50 using only the Back-Entry Thrusting skill. You even kept going until you hit 80. But this time, you’ve got a massive hurdle: getting a negative Affection Level all the way back to zero,” Ami-chan stated seriously.
She was right. The circumstances were completely different between Cleonora, who started at Affection Level 1, and Liliarette, who was deep in the negatives.
”What do you think a minus Affection Level means?” she asked.
”Huh? Well… it means she hates me, right?” I guessed.
”Yes, but it’s tricky. There are different kinds of ‘hate’ or ‘dislike,’ you see.”
”What do you mean by that?”
Ami-chan held up a slender finger. “Imagine a cockroach crawling up the wall while you’re eating dinner. How does that make you feel?”
”Uwaaaahhh…! No, no way! Absolutely impossible!” I shuddered.
”Right? Now, what about your high school classmate, Shinya—the cocky real estate agent who boasts about making a million yen a month? How do you feel about him?”
”…He’s a nasty piece of work. I just know he’d immediately start looking down on me and bragging about his annual income if we met,” I muttered.
Ami-chan nodded in satisfaction. “Both are unpleasant, right? But if you had to choose, which one would you pick?”
”…I can’t choose. And yeah, I dislike both, but the kind of dislike is different…”
”Exactly! That’s why negative Affection Levels also vary in type and intensity.”
I finally got what she was aiming at. The cockroach example wasn’t just hatred—it was visceral revulsion.
”A minus Affection Level means the target has an entrenched refusal, a strong rejection. Time is essential to soften that… though giving it time often makes things worse.”
”So Liliarette is rejecting me. Normally, I’d have to try to win her over gradually, but I don’t have that kind of time…” I concluded.
”Precisely! That’s why you absolutely have to use the skill and do the Back-Entry Thrusting to gain Affection Levels. But wait—let’s go back to Shinya. Imagine he’s eating at a donburi shop with a friend and suddenly starts saying nice things about you.”
”Huh…? Shinya… complimenting me…?” I blinked.
”Yep. ‘I’ve never seen a guy work as hard as him back in high school. He’s the kind of guy who should be working at a better company than me and has the ability to make a lot of money right now.’ Can you picture that?”
A donburi shop… that immediately reminded me of my old part-time job. Shinya sitting there, praising me…?
”And then a high school girl who works with you overhears and later tells you, ‘Your friend spoke so highly of you, Shou-san!’ What’s your impression of Shinya now?”
”…He’s a really great guy,” I murmured.
Ridiculous as it sounded, if that actually happened, my Affection Level for Shinya would skyrocket. Anyone would feel good if someone praised them behind their back.
”Right? That’s exactly the principle here,” Ami-chan explained.
”…I beg your pardon?”
”You still don’t get it? Shinya, who was at a minus Affection Level, just shot into positive territory with one simple trigger! That means you can use other people to manipulate your own Affection Level with the target.”
I considered the example. The high school girl acted as a catalyst: Shinya didn’t interact with me directly, but another person delivered praise that changed my opinion of him. Something similar could apply to Liliarette.
”I’ll give you a strategy hint as a special service! You need to use Cleonora. Make her praise you to the heavens. Also, you praising Cleonora is a good starting point too.”
”Eh… doing something like that…?”
”How much it helps depends entirely on Liliarette. But it increases the odds that her Affection Level will rise toward zero.”
I nodded slowly. “Anyway, the point is, I never know what the trigger might be to move the Affection Level from minus to zero.”
”Exactly! And by the way, indirectly influencing people to raise Affection Levels happens even in Japan.”
”I guess my communication skills are low…” I sighed.
Still, I understood her message. Hearing praise from someone else almost always created goodwill—certainly better than starting from deep in the negatives.
”But Ami-chan, none of these ways involve Back-Entry Thrusting. Why are you recommending such indirect sneak attacks?”
”You’re wondering why you can’t just raise her level with thrusting alone, huh? Let me ask you: if a cockroach tried to use an Affection Level-raising skill on you, would it work?”
”Impossible! Absolutely impossible!” I said immediately.
”Right? Even though my skill is the strongest, someone you find cockroach-level revolting would still resist violently. Raising Affection Levels from zero to 30 is nothing compared to raising them from minus 30 to zero.”
Now I finally understood the hurdle she kept talking about: the wall of rejection before reaching neutrality.
Liliarette was at minus 30. Even with the skill, entering someone from behind when they hated you wouldn’t raise the level quickly. By the time it crawled to zero, I might collapse from exhaustion.
”I get it. I need an indirect method to get her as close to zero as possible before we start.”
”Exactly! Once she hits zero, getting her to 20 shouldn’t be too hard. Depending on your technique, maybe even easy. But right now, trying to do it purely through physical technique is impossible.”
”Guh…” I groaned.
The more she explained, the more complicated this mission became. Reaching Affection Level 20 in fifteen hours using thrusting alone was impossible. Ami-chan knew that—that’s why she was telling me all this.
”The key is Cleonora, then…” I murmured.
”Indeed. Luckily, Cleonora is under the ‘Slave of Love’ effect, which makes giving her instructions easy. I’ll handle the talking, so don’t worry!”
”Wait… what do you mean, handle the talking…?”
”If I frame it as helping the beloved Shou by turning her sister into a Magic Girl, she’ll obey. To turn her into a Magic Girl, intimacy is required. Cleonora will figure out a way to get her sister to accept that intimacy.”
Will she really…? I wondered.
In any case, I needed to delay penetration as long as possible. If I didn’t wait until her Affection Level was close to zero, I’d burn out before reaching 20.
”Liliarette can’t run because of her legs, so kissing should be easy. Just like with Cleonora, that should get her ready… but be VERY careful with the timing of the actual insertion, okay?” Ami-chan warned.
”A-Ah… I understand…”
Thinking about it now, having Cleonora start at Affection Level 1 had been a miracle compared to this.
* * *
When the Affection Level of a partner is in the minus, even using the skill only raises it very gradually. This would normally be fine, but the current timed mission changes everything. Furthermore, there’s a risk of releasing before reaching Affection Level 20 through thrusting alone, which makes the timing of the insertion critical.

Summary:
Shou realizes the Timed Mission is a major challenge because Liliarette’s Affection Level starts at minus 30. Ami-chan gives a crucial strategic hint: direct use of the Back-Entry Thrusting skill won’t be fast enough due to Liliarette’s strong refusal. They strategize to use Cleonora to indirectly raise Liliarette’s initial Affection Level out of the minus range, likening the process to moving a deeply-ingrained dislike (like a nasty acquaintance) versus a deep revulsion (like a cockroach). Shou understands that the key to success is delaying penetration until the indirect manipulation has had a chance to work.
—
Character Insight:
Shou is determined but severely lacks confidence in his ‘communication ability,’ making the indirect strategy seem daunting even as he realizes its necessity. Ami-chan is excited by the complexity, treating Shou’s mission like a fascinating puzzle and relishing her role as the all-knowing guide.

Behind the Scene:
This chapter establishes the difficulty gradient in the Affection Level system: moving from minus to zero is a much greater effort than moving from zero to a positive number, forcing the protagonist to rely on social strategy and manipulation rather than just the sexual skill. Cleonora’s loyalty (due to ‘Slave of Love’) is leveraged as a game mechanic.

T/L:
¹ Cockroach (G): In Japanese casual speech, the word for cockroach, gokiburi, is often shortened to ‘G’ to refer to the insect or to express extreme disgust, similar to how ‘C’ might be used for a common expletive in other contexts. ↩
² Communication Ability: A common term in Japanese for social skills and ability to interact with others, often abbreviated to ‘Komi-ryoku.’ Shou sees this as his weak point. ↩
