Chapter 96 Yukishiro Emily, Halloween Trip

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The plan was for me and the other three from the Verification Team to take a trip together at Halloween.

”I can’t wait to travel with the four of us!” Kaede-paisen said.

”Yes, I feel excited too,” Nee-san replied with a smile.

When we sat in our airplane seats, I could hear Kaede-paisen and Nee-san talking happily. But I was in no mood to join. My body felt heavy.

”Emily-senpai, are you feeling worn out?” Kanon asked from the seat beside me.

 ”Haha… I burned out, that’s all,” I said.

Kanon leaned closer, worry in her eyes. Kaede-paisen and Nee-san, who were sitting together, noticed and also looked my way.

”Knowing you, you stayed up all night, you know… doing things. If you want to confess, now’s the time,” Kaede-paisen said.

”Emily-san, I understand the feeling very well, but please show some care for your health,” Nee-san added.

No way! Even I wouldn’t do *that* so much the night before a trip that I make myself sick. Well… I *did* do it, but still.

”Heh… I just pushed myself with a part-time job to pay for this trip,” I said.

”You don’t have to work so hard. I could have given you some pocket money,” Kanon said, pouting a little.

Kanon… it’s good you married Aqua-sama. To be honest, you really have the talent to turn someone into a lazy freeloader. Part of me would love to lie around at home and let you take care of me.

”You’re already paying for the first-class seats and the hotel, so let me at least earn my own pocket money. I’m still your senpai, after all,” I said.

 ”Emily-senpai…” Kanon whispered, still worried.

Don’t make that face. You’re too pretty to waste it on worry.

”To be real, I only worked too much because I spent too much on the Holy Aqua Religion gacha,” I admitted.

”What!? You made me worry for nothing! And wait—what is an Aqua gacha?” Kanon asked.

Whoa—too close! She suddenly leaned in, and my heart jumped.

Ugh, otaku like her always close the distance without warning. I can take the lead, but I’m weak when someone else pushes!

”Emily-san, details,” Nee-san said, tapping my shoulder. Her serious face almost made me squeak.

I told Kanon, Nee-san, and Kaede-paisen about the unofficial gacha that only the Holy Aqua Religion fan club sells, featuring a slightly lewd Aqua-sama akusuta inside.

”A-Aqua-kun… in swim trunks!?” Kaede-paisen gasped.

”Ha-wa-wa, this outer garment is slipping off,” Kanon whispered.

Hey, Kanon! You’re trying to hide your face with your hands, but I can see you staring through your fingers! You sneaky girl.

 ”Emily-san…” Nee-san said.

She grabbed my shoulder with a stern expression, like she was about to interrogate someone.

 Eek—am I in trouble!?

”Please get one for me too,” she said calmly.

 ”Huh?” I froze.

 Oh, she’s not angry?

I rubbed my hands together and checked her mood.

”Beryl allows fan works, but there are guidelines. While 18+ content is generally not permitted, swimsuits or loose shirts are acceptable. Aqua-san has appeared in similar magazine photos. As for this picture, did you take it? The angle suggests you might have. If Aqua-san gave permission, then there’s no issue.” she said.

Phew… I thought my life would shorten by three hundred years.

The stress rushed out of me, and I slumped in my seat.

”Emily-san, you should sleep a bit,” Nee-san said.

”Yes, I think so too,” Kanon said.

”Here, take my pillow. Use it and rest,” Kaede-paisen offered.

 Bless you, bless you.

I took Kaede-paisen’s pillow, reclined my seat, and lay down. At times like this, I was glad we were in first class with more space. I’m such a nervous person that even on premium bus seats, I sit stiff like a board.

I closed my eyes, hoping for a nice naughty dream, and drifted into sleep.

 …

I don’t know how long I slept, but slowly, I woke up.

”Mmm… I slept so well, ssu,” I muttered.

It looked like we hadn’t arrived yet. The cabin was dark. It must be lights-out time. I turned toward Kanon.

”Hehe… Aqua… mmm…” she murmured in her sleep.

Cute! What kind of happy dream was she having? It made me want to tease her a little. But for now, I needed the bathroom.

I slipped away quietly, so I wouldn’t wake anyone, and went into the toilet.

 ”Fuu,” I sighed after.

Just as I was about to leave, I heard a gunshot—maybe a blank. My heart jumped.

 What was that!?

I hid and looked toward first class.

”Stay quiet! We have hijacked this plane!” a woman shouted.

She wore a pumpkin head and a full black bodysuit, holding a gun at the passengers.

A hijack!? This should happen when Aqua-sama is flying, not when I’m here!

A pumpkin head with a full black bodysuit? That looked more like a costume than a serious threat! And wow, the outfit was… revealing.

”My name is Mankoo Nameru Eroi!” the woman declared.

What? Lick a…? Was she Nee-san’s relative or something? I leaned forward without thinking.

”A pervy woman who licks that? You mean Nee-san?” I asked.

 ”No!” she snapped.

As expected from Kaede-paisen. While the other passengers shook with fear, she didn’t. She even made the perfect comeback in this crazy moment. A true message-board warrior.

”In the ancient Stars language, it means a holy child of the goddess, short for ‘Saint’!” the woman said.

Oh, really. Still, in Japan, maybe don’t say that name out loud. Well, I guess someone like me named “MM-lover” and Kaede-paisen named “Chinposuki” shouldn’t talk. Haha!

”Saint? More like a dirty woman,” Kaede-paisen said.

”Silence! You’re Morikawa Kaede, right? You two, tie her up!” the hijacker ordered.

Her partners moved to tie Kaede-paisen. Please. A bit of rope would not stop her. You’d need a cage for a wild beast like her.

”Kaede-san! What are you doing to her!” Nee-san cried.

”Kirika Kotono, huh. Tie her too,” the leader said.

Nee-san, who sat beside Kaede-paisen, was tied as well. Damn it. Was Kanon safe?

”Give me the passenger list. We will check each name,” the hijacker said.

 This was bad.

They began to read names one by one.

”Shirogane… Shirogane Kanon? I guessed someone big might be here when I saw Kirika Kotono and Morikawa Kaede, but I didn’t expect to find such a top name. Shirogane Kanon! Where are you!?”

Kanon, don’t show yourself! If they find you, no telling what they’ll do. Stay quiet until I fix this.

I looked around for something useful. Toilet paper wasn’t going to save us.

”Mmm, Emily-senpai, silly… don’t show up in my dream too… hehe…” Kanon mumbled.

No way. She was still asleep in this mess? She was on a different level. Her heart was built like a tank.

”There you are. Hey! Wake up, Shirogane Kanon!”

”Mmm…? Wh-what is going on? Who are you!” Kanon said as she woke.

Honestly, I wanted to ask her that. What kind of happy dream lets you sleep through a hijack?

”Because of Aqua-sama, have you forgotten what danger feels like?” I muttered.

”We have taken this plane. Yes, that means a hijack,” the leader said.

Kanon’s face turned serious. She could switch fast when needed.

”…What is your goal?” she asked.

”Fine. I will tell you our noble aim! We are here to spread the glory of God, Shirogane Aqua, and share his seed with women all around the world!” the pumpkin head announced.

She spoke with grandiose words about their plans for Aqua-sama. As I listened, my expression turned serious. So that was their motive.

”You use fancy words, but you just want to take his idol life and his rights, and force him to make babies with women he doesn’t even like, all day, every day! I won’t allow that!” I shouted.

”Shut up! You just don’t understand. Aqua-sama must want it too!” she yelled back.

Kanon glared at them. Careful, Kanon. I knew why she was angry, but if they hurt you, I might snap before Aqua-sama even gets here.

”He never said he wanted that!!” Kanon said.

Kaede-paisen, Nee-san, the other passengers, and I all nodded.

But the pumpkin head smiled like she had the upper hand.

”Very well. I will show you my true self!” she said.

What? She hid her head with a pumpkin, yet she wanted to reveal her identity? Was that safe?

With dramatic, chuuni-like moves, she began to introduce herself.

”Listen well! I am the Saint of the Holy Aqua Religion!!”

 What!?

Wait—hold on. I thought I was the Saint of the Holy Aqua Religion!? My eyes went wide at this shocking “truth.” Had I misunderstood all this time?

No, no way! I had prayed it was a dream many times! Maybe I could blame everything on this woman and run… that idea began to sound tempting.

”You’re the Saint of the Holy Aqua Religion?” Kanon asked.

”Yes! Not like you, just a wife. I am the one who truly understands Aqua-sama!” the hijacker said proudly.

Kanon burst into laughter, holding her stomach.

”Hey, don’t laugh that much,” I said. “I get it, but don’t push her. I’m worried she’ll snap.”

”You, the Saint of the Holy Aqua Religion? No way… ahem… Emily-senpai is not someone like you!” Kanon said.

Careful! She almost revealed Emily-senpai’s identity just now. My sharp ears caught the slip, even if it was subtle.

”What? How do you know about the Saint?” the pumpkin head asked.

”I know her! Tell me, do you know why the Saint started the Holy Aqua Religion?” Kanon asked.

Kanon stepped forward, almost pushing the gun away with her will alone. She looked brave. Yes, that was the woman both Aqua-sama and I fell for.

”T-to spread the word of Aqua-sama…”

”No. She began it to give hope to girls who were hurting, so their hearts could heal a little. She wanted them to meet Aqua, that’s why she created the Holy Aqua Religion, nano,” Kanon said.

She placed her hands over her chest with a calm and holy look. She looked more like a Saint than I ever did. Maybe she should run the Holy Aqua Religion.

”So she would never, ever take away Aqua’s life as an idol who brings smiles to everyone!!” Kanon said.

”Grr! Shut up! What do you know!!” the hijacker shouted.

The pumpkin head pointed her gun at Kanon again. Oh no. Before I could think, I ran out.

Everything moved in slow motion. I wouldn’t make it—anyone would think that. Anyone except the one girl who surpassed human limits.

 ”Hun-nuraba!”

Kaede-paisen snapped her ropes with pure power and threw a nearby hijacker into another like it was nothing. The goddess of power had spoken.

The pumpkin head froze in shock. Kanon didn’t miss the chance.

 ”Haa!”

 ”What!?”

Kanon raised her leg and kicked the gun out of the pumpkin head’s hand.

 Whoa. For real?

”Sorry, asobase. A Rider Kick is a girl’s shumi!” she said.

Yes! That was why she was the Verification Team’s queen of shumi.

The passengers, scared a moment ago, now cheered.

 ”Haah!”

Nee-san tackled another hijacker and fell on top of her. Right on her face. Wow. Subduing a hijacker like that? Respect, Nee-san.

”You lousy—!!” the pumpkin head roared and tried to punch Kanon.

But Kanon didn’t flinch. She smirked.

”Emily-senpai! Take down that fake!!” she yelled.

 ”What!?” the hijacker gasped.

I roared and, right as she turned, I landed a perfect uppercut.

”Sorry, but you’re a hundred years too early to call yourself a Saint,” I said.

What can I say? I’m still the Saint of that crazy fan religion. I would love to quit, but no way I’d hand that title to her. And I can’t let my cute kouhai down either.

”Emily-senpai, are you okay?” Kanon asked.

”Yeah, I’m fine. What about you? Are you hurt?” I said.

We checked each other for injuries. Relief filled me when I saw she didn’t have even a scratch.

”Waaah, Emily, I was scared too!” Kaede-paisen cried.

Yeah right. She had snapped ropes and tossed hijackers like dolls. The other passengers and flight attendants now seemed more scared of her than the hijackers.

”I feared for us as well… I’m glad everyone is safe,” Nee-san said.

She looked calm, like nothing happened. But I saw her bravery clearly. Forcing a hijacker into that was on a level beyond my MMHagetoru or Kaede-paisen’s Chinposuki.

”Emily-san,” Nee-san said, tapping my shoulder.

 ”You saw nothing… right?”

 ”Y-yes…” I replied.

Now you see the power balance of the Verification Team, nano-dearu. Even if I’m the Saint, even if Kaede-paisen has super strength, none of us can stand against Nee-san.

”Emily, let’s tie them up,” Kaede-paisen said.

”Hehe, leave it to me,” I said.

I tied the hijackers up in tight rope art and soon, we arrived at the airport.

”Thank you for your work. We will take these people from here,” a staff member said.

Claire waited for us with a bright smile. It scared me more than the hijack.

What happened to those hijackers after… even I don’t know.
