Volume 13 Chapter 245 Shirogane Aqua, A Day in the Life of an Entertainer

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

After returning home from Nagano, what awaited me was the work I had stored up in preparation for Kanon’s delivery.

I woke up early, got dressed, and greeted the staff who had come to pick me up with a cheerful hello.

 ”Good morning!”

 ”Good morning.”

I got into the company car and left Shirogane Kingdom, heading towards Marunouchi in the early morning.

This business district, which is usually crowded during the day and on weekends, is perfect for shooting at this hour because of the lack of people.

I arrived at the location quickly, got out of the car, and greeted the staff and Nobu-san.

”Aqua-kun, are you okay? Isn’t it cold?”

”Well, yeah, it’s cold, but I’ll manage with some willpower!”

I changed into the outfit they prepared for me, then walked slowly in front of the building as directed.

The theme of this shoot is a week of outfits for men who work, based on their requests.

Since the shoot starts in the early hours, we begin not with Monday’s outfit, but with a Friday evening look, imagining going out after work.

”Ahh! Looks great! Keep it up, yep, yep, now take off the coat! Haah, haah!”

Under Nobu-san’s high-energy direction, I held the coat I’d taken off under my arm.

I kept my movements smooth, acting like an experienced, mature man while quietly following Nobu-san’s requests.

”Let’s try the Thursday outfit next.”

I put on the glasses I borrowed from Mayuzumi, transforming into a serious businessman with a work-ready look.

I imagined the mindset of getting all the work done before the weekend, so I could leave on time Friday.

”Next, let’s do Saturday’s look. Let’s give it a more casual vibe.”

After changing into a leather jacket, I did a shoot with my beloved motorcycle in front of the station.

I had dropped the bike off at the Beryl headquarters the day before for this shoot.

”Nobu-san, could I get this photo later?”

 ”Of course!”

I’ll show it to Kanon and the others when I get home.

And still, I need to show Kanoa lots of pictures of bikes to teach him well.

If Kanoa goes into acting or showbiz, I want us to try being a driver as a parent and child.

Back then, I’d like to be the voice of the driver or the previous driver, transforming with him. When I mentioned that to Director Hongou and Ai, Hongou’s eyes sparkled like a kid’s, and Ai muttered something like “Let’s make it happen,” then collapsed.

I should tell the editor next time that Ai seems tired, so don’t push her too hard.

”Let’s keep shooting everything quickly at this pace.”

 ”Yes!”

I change into different costumes prepared for each shot and keep filming.

By the time filming ends, it’s the kind of evening when you start to feel a few people around in the town/street.

”Nobu-san, thank you very much for today!”

”Aqua-kun, do your best with your work too!”

I see Nobu-san off in his car as he leaves the scene.

Then, fans who notice me start to get a bit noisy.

 ”Ah, Aqua-sama!?”

 ”Aqua-kun is filming!”

Whoa, I better move quickly before it gets too loud.

Before I get into a different car than I came in, I wave to the fans who spotted me.

”Check social media next month for the magazine’s release!!”

 ”Yes!”

 ”I’ll absolutely buy it!!”

”For myself, for spreading the word, for storage, and for Hagetoru!!”

Huh? What did she just say last?

I get that for myself, spreading the word, and storage, but…

if I appear in Ayana’s swimsuit gravure, I plan to buy cartons for spreading the word too.

But… the last part… what was it? Huh?

No way… it can’t be for destroying, right!?

I’ve heard that some fans break CDs when their favorite idols mess up.

I have to do my best not to get my magazines torn apart.

As I get into the car, I slap my cheek to psych myself up.

”Next is the early morning news show. Let’s finish breakfast first.”

What’s it mean to do the news and breakfast together?

The car stopped a little ahead, and I was let out to look around.

 ”Huh? Is this Tsukishima?”

”Yes. The place scene is the Monjayaki restaurant over there.”

 They serve monjayaki this late!?

Did they open specially for us? Sorry if we’re bothering you.

I enter the shop and call out to the landlady waiting at the counter.

”Good morning! Sorry for opening so early.”

I bow my head and look apologetic.

”It’s fine. More than that… wow, you’re more handsome than on TV. And tall, too. No wonder the young staff here are all crazy about you.”

 ”Haha, thank you.”

When I glance sideways, the young waitress girls are watching from the corner.

They look about college age. I wave and bow politely, saying, “Thanks for today.”

 ”Kya!”

”Seeing Aqua-sama live is crazy!! I’ve lived in Tokyo forever, but I’ve never seen her in person!”

”No wonder Shumi is head over heels.”

”Even strict Nee-san and Agewa-san would fall for her easily.”

I smile and casually look around the shop.

As expected, since it’s near the station, it’s pretty spacious.

I chat with the staff and the landlady to decide where to sit.

”Probably here at the counter, right?”

”Yeah. I think this spot gives the best shot.”

About ten minutes until live broadcast starts. I sit down and check the menu, choosing monjayaki.

Hmm, I could go for a hearty breakfast, but considering the viewers, a lighter option might be better. So, classic plain monjayaki?

”We let you customize toppings freely, so feel free to make it your own.”

”Then, I’ll have plain monjayaki with ume shiso and chopped seaweed, please!”

Might as well use this chance to start a morning monjayaki trend.

Monjayaki is surprisingly healthy, easy to cook with a hot plate, and I think most women watching TV would find it appealing.

I call out to the nearby young waitress girls.

 ”What do you all think?”

 ”I think it’s a good idea!”

”I’ll have the same staff meal later!”

 ”Morning monjayaki? Surprisingly good!”

Yeah, it seems to be a hit with the girls.

Plus, chatting a bit helped ease the tension among the part-time staff.

Creating a relaxed environment is key for a good shoot.

Kohina-senpai, on the other hand, tightens the atmosphere to keep things sharp, but it varies by person.

It’s not about which approach is right—it’s about creating an environment that suits the individual.

 ”Starting in 5 seconds! 3, 2…”

I naturally turned to the camera.

 ’Eeh!? Aqua-kun!?’

Huh? That slightly goofy voice… is that Kaede?!

Wait, does that mean this is a national broadcaster shoot?!

I noticed the sticker on the camera for the first time and realized it was a national broadcast.

 Oops… missed that detail.

’Shirogane Aqua-san, good morning. This is NHK’s “Ohani.” We’re this Wednesday’s hosts, Onidzuka Kyoko and Morikawa Kaede!’

”Good morning! Announcer Onidzuka, has my Kaede been causing trouble?”

 ’Your Kaede?!’

Kaede? Please tell me she didn’t just fall backward in shock!

 Her panicked voice worried me.

’Come on, Morikawa, get it together. You should be used to this by now—you’re married, right?’

 ’No, I can’t get used to these ambushes… Gakku~’

Hey, Kaede?! Snap out of it!!
