Chapter 13 Jane-san

It was settled that I would head to breakfast with Jane-san. Apparently, both Jane-san and Corinna-san had already finished eating. Corinna-san offered to stay behind and look after the room.
”I could just go by myself, though,” I said.
”That is quite impossible~desuwa. It would be most distressing if some misfortune were to occur, and besides, attending to Anma-sama is my primary duty, is it not desuno? Please do not go about diminishing my workload, I beg of you,” Jane-san replied.
With such a firm refusal, I found myself heading toward the dining hall for male servants with Jane-san. Reaching the place went smoothly enough, but…
”Well, this was somewhat unexpected desuwa…” Jane-san muttered.
”Actually, it’s pretty much exactly what I expected,” I said.
We were standing out like a sore thumb. A maid entering the men’s dining hall was bound to cause a stir. The middle-aged guys who had been so talkative yesterday barely even approached us, keeping the conversation limited to brief greetings. Not just in our immediate vicinity, but an air of forced elegance had permeated the entire hall as everyone tried to eat as politely as possible. I wondered where the dining hall full of lewd banter from yesterday had vanished to. In the end, the meal concluded without me speaking to a soul other than Jane-san.
”I feel I have done something rather inconsiderate desuwa…” Jane-san said.

After saying that, Jane-san approached a nearby maid—a young girl with black hair tied in a side-tail. After a brief exchange, Jane-san returned.
”I have requested an arrangement to permit us to use the dining hall for female summoners desuwa. We should receive a response during the morning hours,” Jane-san said.
”You mean the place the instructors use? Is it really okay for me to go there?” I asked.
”There should be no issue desuwa. Its location is kept secret specifically to prevent the trained men of the Subjugation Squad ¹ from preying upon the untrained female summoners. Therefore, it stands to reason that Anma-sama, who possesses no combat capability, would be granted an exception,” Jane-san explained.
Judging by the sheer number of warnings I’d heard regarding the trained combatants so far, I got the feeling that some serious incidents must have happened in the past…

We arrived back at the room. I couldn’t help but wonder if Jane-san was going to handle my sexual relief… Once inside, we closed the door.
”Corinna, secure our communications,” Jane-san said.
”Yes,” Corinna replied.
Corinna performed some sort of action. When I inquired, she explained it was Anti-eavesdropping magic ². Apparently, it was a convenient spell that was relatively easy to master yet quite effective.
I took a seat on the bed. I offered chairs to the two of them, but they declined.
”Now then, Anma-sama, regarding your massages, I must convey two directives from Princess Alisha (Her Highness),” Jane-san said.

To guarantee the safety of both parties, an observer is essential, I should think.”

”The second point concerns the location.
