Volume 3 Chapter 12 A Sudden Turnaround

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 (Something feels off)

On the train to school, I think back to recent memories and even further back. No matter how many times I think about it, I feel like Risa-san’s behavior is “different than usual.”

 (When did it start?)

Why didn’t I notice it before? Was it around the end of November? Since then, on nights when I could come home, Risa-san often invited me to have s*x…

I was so caught up in my feelings that I didn’t notice anything.

Also, what’s strange is the amount of clothes packed in Risa-san’s suitcase. The number of clothes missing from the closet doesn’t match up.

(Could it be that the business trip is a lie?)

Risa-san might not be gone for just a week. The stuff packed in the suitcase seems like things you need to live right away, so did she send the seasonal clothes separately?

If that’s the case, it could mean she’s gone for years.

 (Where is Risa-san really going?)

It’s definitely strange. I need to check this out right away. I got off the train and headed back home.

 ”Risa-san…?”

I looked into the walk-in shoe closet from the entrance hall, but as expected, Risa-san’s suitcase was gone.

I always have a bad feeling in situations like this, and it usually turns out to be true. It was the same when my parents died. They didn’t come home even when it got dark outside. I tried to shake off the flashback memories.

Risa-san wasn’t on the first or second floor, and I found a letter on the bedside table in the master bedroom.

”Who leaves a letter these days…?”

What’s the reason for writing a letter instead of just sending a message on a smartphone app?

The letter from Risa-san didn’t say where she was going. I couldn’t find any clues in the room either.

All it said was that I could stay at Risa-san’s house until I got a job, that she would pay for the utilities, so I didn’t need to worry about anything changing, and that a package with her personal items would arrive from the hospital where she works, and she wanted me to receive it.

 ”A package, huh?”

If I go to Risa-san’s workplace now, I might be able to get it before the delivery. Knowing Risa-san, she might have asked someone like Yuki-san to manage her personal items.

I didn’t even want to waste time changing out of my uniform. I grabbed Risa-san’s letter and ran to the hospital.
