Volume 11 Chapter 13 Foolish Talk And Quarrel!?
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Hendric was there in front of me at that time.
Hendric was the one Belholt found as a lonely orphan.
He raised him like a son with his real daughter, Freyria.
I also remember loving him like a little brother.
”Huh, Hendric… I see, you’re that Hendric… Did Freyria give you that necklace…?”
After Freyria was killed, I spent years almost like a broken man.
During that time, Lord Dwade, who caused my master’s death, lost his concern for his family and was executed.
Arbalest Haydon then became the Margrave, ending the persecution of the Remarque family.
But, with no more reputation for Belholt, the Belholt dojo couldn’t regain its former power.
Many students joined Hendric’s new group, the ‘Golden Apostles’.
After a few years, the number of students dropped to a tenth of what it once was.
The only skilled instructor left was Garo.
By then, I finally accepted Freyria’s death.
To rebuild my crumbling dojo, I started hunting monsters as a bodyguard in Abyss Vena.
But the dojo’s business didn’t get better.
After last year’s big attack, it almost closed down.
On my way to the Beast King Tournament in the east, I got caught in a landslide and lost my memory.
Later, a Demon God Emperor’s soldier found and saved me from being buried alive.
But I had already forgotten everything.
I fought alongside them, met Alonsa, and ended up in today’s situation.
”Nokin Remarque! You were supposed to inherit the Remarque family’s power! But you forgot your sister and married some mysterious woman in the east. You even took the name Nokin Wolffang! Do you think that kind of betrayal is okay?!”
After Freyria’s death, my relationship with Hendric became tense and we started to clash.
He left the dojo to form a new Hunting Group, and soon, the dojo’s instructors and students all joined him.
Now, he has built it into a super famous Hunting Group called the Top Three of Abyss Vena.
He says I should be the one to inherit the Remarque family, but that’s not true.
My master, Belholt, asked me if I wanted Hendric to be the successor of the Remarque family, and I planned to support him along with Freyria.
”That’s not right! Master saw you as the successor. The Remarque family was supposed to be yours! If it weren’t for that incident, Master would have named you the successor!”
”Don’t lie! Everyone thought you were the successor because you were engaged to my sister!”
Hendric argued back, thrusting a necklace at me while he was on top of me.
He was right; at that time, he was in a position to be called the successor.
But looking at it now, Hendric, who never stopped training against monsters, is the true successor of the Belholt style.
I, on the other hand, lost my way after losing Freyria and living like a shell of my former self, and my sword has become a style of my own, separate from Belholt.
”My sword has regained its wildness. Your sword is the true Belholt style. I no longer intend to call myself a Belholt.”
”Don’t mess with me! I plan to beat you down before I call myself the successor! Don’t just run away!”
Hendric arched his body and jumped up, taking me with him.
I lost my advantageous position because I was caught off guard and faced Hendric again.
Hendric readied his sword again.
It seemed he intended to take me down quickly with a Belholt style technique.
”Is that [Luminous Sky Flash]? It’s a technique Master was good at. You can use it now?”
Just by looking at the position of Hendric’s sword, I understood the technique he was about to unleash.
It was a Sword Technique that poured all magic and stamina into the first strike, quickly defeating the enemy, a technique Master excelled at.
”Even if you know my skills, you won’t see my swordsmanship anymore! I’ll defeat you with this one strike!”
The golden light from Hendric’s body, surrounded by Support Magic, gathers at the tip of his sword.
”Then, as a warrior, I can only respond with my best technique!”
Holding my beloved greatsword at the ready, I channel my fierce spirit into the blade.
”Take this! [Luminous Sky Flash]!!”
Hendric steps forward sharply, and as his golden blade shakes, the air seems to tear apart, and the glowing sword rushes toward me.
”This is my reply! [Tiger’s Fang]!!”
I thrust my greatsword forward and sprint toward the incoming blade.
As my fighting spirit and magical energy-infused greatsword touch Hendric’s blade, a loud bang goes off, and a dazzling flash envelops the area.
I felt a solid impact…
When the light faded, Hendric lay on his back on the ground.
My greatsword, enhanced by my [Tiger’s Fang], had brilliantly shattered his [Luminous Sky Flash].
But I seemed to have taken considerable damage too.
Pain surged through my side and my injured right arm, flooding my mind.
”Ugh… As expected. I thought I had completely dodged it… Guh!”
Nausea washed over me from my stomach, mixed with discomfort.
And then, the taste of iron filled my mouth.
I turned my gaze to Hendric, even as I felt faint.
His golden armor lay broken, and the two necklaces around his neck rolled away on the ground.
And from the shattered armor, 2 large breasts, which shouldn’t belong to a man, spilled out.
”Whaaa!!! W-woman!!!”
I quickly pinched my cheek.
I thought maybe the pain was just messing with my head and giving me hallucinations.
However, my body returned to me the real pain, sharp and clear.
”Sir Hendric!! Referee!! We’ve lost! Please end this match quickly!”
Lakia, who was fighting Garo, looked panicked and was giving instructions to the host to end the match.
”Fuh, ughh…”
A woman who seemed to be Hendric was about to wake up from her faint.
Panicking, I hurried to tear off my clothes to cover Hendric’s chest.
Just then, Hendric suddenly opened her eyes.
”No, Nokin! I── did I lose… Hah! Aaaaah! Don’t look!!”
Hendric let out a scream as she saw her own chest and quickly hid it, curling up.
I turned my head sharply in the opposite direction with a loud noise.
”Hendric! Why are you a girl? Is it the side effect of Support Magic!?”
Confused, I babbled something I didn’t understand.
”S-Stop it! Don’t look over here! What’s wrong with me being a girl!! I’ve been a girl my whole life!!”
Glancing sideways, Hendric’s face was bright red, though she kept her chest hidden.
”Since I was born! And you were in the bath with me, right!”
”That’s… because I thought a man would be better for sword training! I had my parents’ keepsake necklace ── it was a ‘gender-transforming necklace,’ so I couldn’t help it! But only Sister Freyria and Lakia knew I was a girl!”
Even master Belholt, the teacher, probably thought Hendric was a boy.
When I took in Hendric, an orphan abandoned at the clinic, my master’s face was full of joy, happy to have found a son.
So then, why did Freyria keep Hendric’s girl identity a secret…?
”Sir Nokin! We give up on this match! Sir Hendric! Let’s stop. No matter how much you win, you can’t get Sir Nokin!”
Lakia ran up to Hendric and threw a cloak over her.
”Lakia, you knew Hendric was a girl, didn’t you?”
”It seems Sir Nokin has remembered everything… In that case, Sir Hendric’s chance of winning over Sir Nokin has become even smaller. Please, give up gracefully.”
Lakia, with a serious face, was scolding Hendric.
Under Lakia’s chastisement, Hendric started to cry loudly, big tears rolling down his face.
”Why! Why can’t I have Nokin! Tell me, Lakia! When Sister Freyria died, I thought maybe I could be like her!”
Hendric’s loud sobs brought out something shocking.
”Wait! What do you mean, ‘like Freyria’!”
”I mean, I would stay by Nokin’s side like my sister did! You idiot!”
The excitement in the crowd suddenly vanished, and it became silent.
I felt an awkward chill, and my body grew restless.
”W-wait!! Hendric!! Don’t rush! Calm down!”
To help me out, the host rang the gong to end the match.
I left Hendric behind and rushed back to the waiting room.

*Kent’s Perspective
”Wow, I can’t believe that Hendric was a girl… and she has a crush on Nokin! What an unexpected surprise!”
I smiled wryly at the love quarrel unfolding before me.
Milly and Talia beside me were giggling and seemed to be plotting something mischievous.
”Really? I thought some people already knew. Well, I guess Hendric is a girl after all.”
”By tonight, everyone in Abyss Vena will know about Nokin and Hendric. I must report this to Lady Alonsa, so I’ll take my leave now.”
Talia gracefully bowed and left the VIP seats.
”Talia plans to use Hendric to pin down Nokin, doesn’t she?”
”Hm? Kent’s quite sharp, isn’t he? But keep it a secret. I’m planning to challenge Nokin to a serious match! I’ll just have Talia’s plan as a backup insurance.”
Milly was lightly dodging my pursuit while humming a tune.
”Come on, the next match is starting. This time it’s Manon versus Iska. The winner of this match will be Kent’s next opponent, so let’s watch it properly.”
”Hah… How do you do?”
I sent my gaze to the upcoming match between Iska and Manon, feeling a bit bewildered.
