”Is this my win-nya?”
”Y-yes! The winner is ‘Black Bullet’! Team Manon!!”
Even with the announcer declaring the winner, the audience stayed silent.
We walked away from the match area calmly.
On stage, the medics were carrying a member of the opposing team on a stretcher to the first aid room.
After that, all the other teams in our group watched or heard about the match and decided to forfeit, so we secured the top spot in our group without fighting again, and our entry into the main event was officially confirmed.

*Nokin’s Perspective
It seemed the gong had sounded to signal the end of the match, but there was no cheer from the audience.
Coming back down the hallway to the waiting room was a group led by a cat-like woman, all dressed in black metal armor and armed with magic guns.
…So this is the ‘Black Bullet’ team, known as Kent’s secret weapon… Even as a woman, she has an amazing presence…
I’ve heard that ‘Black Bullet’ is the strongest hunting group of the Blackdagger family, supporting the private army ‘Black Wing’ of the Black Dragon tribe in terms of military strength.
Only elite troops who pass strict selection criteria for monster hunting are allowed to join this hunting group.
I decided to test my aura on the cat-like woman at the front.
Immediately, all the gun barrels were aimed at me.
”I’d like you to stop playing with me-nya. Nokin Wolffang, if you weren’t a guest of Sir Kent, I would have shot you already-nya.”
”Sorry. I didn’t mean to play. Please don’t point your guns at me.”
”If we meet in the main event, I won’t hold back, so be careful-nya. Even if the opponent is the Garuda Clan Leader, going easy would be disrespectful to the Beast King-nya.”

”I won’t let you disturb Sir Kent-nya.”
The cat-like woman seemed to be Kent’s concubine, and she looked at me with a burning rivalry.
It felt like many strong women, almost like heroes, were gathering around Kent to support him, shining like stars.
…I think there’s nothing harder to deal with than women…
”Lord Nokin, it seems our turn is coming!”
Garo pulled me back to reality as I was about to dive into deep thoughts.
We entered the Beast King Tournament as a party of 3.
I decided it was best not to add anyone too weak to our team, so it would just be me, Geronimo, and Garo competing.
”It looks like Sir Nokin won’t be fighting this time.”
We were guided by the staff to the match area.
On stage, they were cleaning up after the last match, and several medics were carrying out the injured.
As we stepped into the arena, the previously silent audience began to buzz at the sight of me.
”Next up is the first match of Group Fifteen: ‘Garuda Principality Leader’ against the ‘Imaginary Hound’ team. The Nokin-Wolffang team is competing with 3 members, and the odds are 1 to 29.”
After the announcer finished, the crowd’s excitement shot up.
”Lord Nokin, please watch from here. Mr. Geronimo will guard you. I will face our opponent alone this time.”
Garo, holding a pole with the tip removed, knelt before me, asking to take on the match.
”…Alright. I’ll watch Garo’s amazing skills. Geronimo, you stay with me. You can fight in the next match.”
The other team looked like they were into Monster Hunting, but their equipment was messy and dirty, so they didn’t seem like strong opponents.
I had already seen Garo’s skills when I recruited him the other day, so I thought he wouldn’t lose to such weak opponents.
When the host stepped off the stage, a loud gong announced the start of the match.
”Here I come!”
I leaned against my greatsword, which was stuck in the ground, and crossed my arms, just like Garo said.
Geronimo also placed his weapon down and crossed his arms like me.
The opposing team saw this and got furious.
”What the hell! Are you going to take on 8 of us alone? You’re really underestimating us!”
The angry opponents charged at Garo, who stood alone.
Most of the opposing team were vanguards, so there were no long-range attackers.
Garo readied his iron rod and unleashed a series of quick thrusts at the approaching men, so fast that the tips of the rod blurred.
”Hi! Hi! Hiiiii!!”
With a fierce shout, Garo’s rapid thrusts accurately pierced the gaps in the armor of the men, stopping them in their tracks.
”Hooaahh!!!”
Garo repositioned his iron rod and aimed for the chins of the 3 men who had stopped moving, sweeping the rod sideways.
The tip of the rod hit their chins perfectly, causing damage to their brains and knocking them out.
”Tch! Not bad!! Everyone, surround him! Get behind him too!!”
The leader of the opposing team, Fis, gave instructions to surround Garo.
But I was sure Garo would win, so I didn’t move from my spot.
”You shouldn’t direct killing intent at me. If you do, my body will react on its own, whether you’re in front or behind.”
Garo spun the iron rod in front of him and lowered his stance, preparing for the next attack.
Seeing Garo stay calm even when surrounded made Fis and the others start to panic.
A frustrated man charged at Garo from behind.
”I warned you not to direct killing intent at me! Seiyaaaah!!”
Garo dodged the man’s attack and hit him hard in the stomach with the end of his iron bar.
The man threw up, holding his belly and writhing.
”Don’t be scared! Attack all at once!”
At Fice’s order, the other 4 men attacked Garo at the same time.
To avoid the attacks from all sides, Garo stuck his iron bar into the ground and jumped up using it as a support.
Then, the 4 men’s attacks missed.
”I told you not to point your killing intent at me!! Take this!”
Garo, who jumped up, swung his iron bar down hard at one of the men attacking him.
When the iron bar hit the man’s shoulder, there was a dull sound, *clank*.
The man held his shoulder and fell to his knees.
Garo didn’t miss the chance and used a [sweeping strike] as he landed.
The men were messed up by Garo’s changing Spearsmanship and fell on their butts.
”This is the end! [Instant Lightning]! *Atatatata! Ataaa ata ataa!*”
The moment the tip of Garo’s iron bar shined, countless marks appeared on the 4 men’s bodies.
The men, hit by the super-fast continuous thrusts, slowly floated up as if caught by something invisible.
”Guheboraba!!”
The men, with countless marks, fell to the ground with a *thud*.
This time, he didn’t use the tip of the iron bar, but if he had, the men would have been full of holes and dead.
…Garo is strong after all… I’m glad a reliable man like him came to be my subordinate, it was worth going all the way to South District.
The announcer, who confirmed that everyone was unconscious, came on stage and started the announcement of the winner.
”The winner is! ‘Garuda Clan Leader’! Nokin Wolffang team!!”
The audience, charmed by Garo’s amazing skill, began to shout ‘Garo!’
Garo came back to me quietly and bowed.
”It took a little time, but I brought you the victory.”
”Oh, that was a good show. It’s been a while since I’ve felt my blood boil like that.”
”Ode is excited too! Mr. Garo, you’re going to be Ode’s teacher, okay? Sir Nokin is strong, but he’s not good at teaching, you see.”
”I’ll teach you as much as you like.”
It seems Geronimo has rediscovered Garo’s strength and intends to become his apprentice to get trained.
As for me, I don’t want Geronimo, my training partner, to level up, so I hope Garo teaches him well.
If it’s Garo, I think he can teach Geronimo the secrets of martial arts better than I can, so I want him to train hard.
”Sure, Geronimo can train too. It’ll be fun for me.”
”I’ll work hard to get closer to Sir Nokin, da.”
Geronimo dragged Garo and rushed back to the corridor leading to the waiting room.
I’m sure he has a lot of questions about the fight we just had.
I watched his back as I casually left the arena behind.
