Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

After the preliminary round ended, 15 teams were chosen to compete in the main event.

Here are the teams that were selected:

 - Group One: Talia’s Team.

 - Group Two: Ines leads the Ignis Ranch Team.

 - Group Three: Iska’s Team, ‘Rootless Weed’.

 - Group Four: Lydiane’s Team.

 - Group Five: Thelma’s Team, ‘Silver Wolf’.

 - Group Six: Fraga’s Team, ‘Wild Wind’.

 - Group Seven: Throb’s Team, ‘Imaginary Hound’.

 - Group Eight: Rosalinda’s Team, ‘Rootless Weed’.

 - Group Nine: Hendric’s Team, ‘Golden Apostles’.

 - Group Ten: The Freur Team, a personal party.

 - Group Eleven: Emma’s Team, ‘Astral Valkyrie’.

 - Group Twelve: Shou’s Team, ‘Blazing Fire’.

 - Group Thirteen: Dagzhan Team, another personal party.

 - Group Fourteen: Manon’s Team.

 - Group Fifteen: Nokin’s Team was selected.

Added to these 15 teams are my current Ten Elite Garudas, Aladdin’s Team, and Dihalt’s Team, making a total of 18 teams for the elimination match.

The tournament bracket is divided into 5 blocks.

By draw, the first block consists of Nokin, Aladdin, Freur, and Thelma’s teams.

The second block has Dagzhan, Hendric, throb, and Lydiane’s teams.

The third block is Iska, Fraga, Shou, and Talia’s teams.

The 4th block has Emma, Ines, Manon, and Dihalt’s teams.

And finally, the fifth block, which is the seed, has my team and Rosalinda’s team.

”They’ve cleverly arranged the tournament bracket so that I and Nokin don’t meet, haven’t they?”

I talked to Talia, the chairperson, who was sitting next to me in the lottery hall.

Looking at the tournament bracket, I felt something was off.

It seemed like the draw was not fair at all.

”As you can see, Sir Kent, this is the result of a fair draw. Thanks to that, if you win 3 times, you can be on top. Isn’t it scary how things can happen by chance?”

Talia had a proud look on her face, but her tail was twitching, showing she probably used her power as chairperson to do something sneaky.

I couldn’t help but stare at the woman’s hands as she picked balls from the lottery box.

 Her movements were suspicious.

Because of that, I ended up blushing when Milly, sitting next to me, asked, “Do you want to do something with that girl?”

”Ahem, ahem. Well, if it’s the result of a fair draw, I guess it can’t be helped.”

”That’s right. It’s the result of a fair draw.”

Talia left the lottery hall with a satisfied smile.

I checked the tournament bracket again.

…A fair draw, huh? I guess I’ll just go with that…

The main event started the next day, and today was the first round of the first 4 blocks.

My turn was in the second round, so I decided to watch the matches from the VIP seats while gathering information on the enemy teams.

Elkisa, the tournament organizer, was there as a referee, acting as Talia’s representative, but she was in a different place.

As the main event began, the arena, which could hold ten thousand people, was packed with spectators, leaving no room to stand.

Everyone was holding voting tickets and focused on the matches.

In the main event, the voting method changed.

People were betting on which team would win, cheering for their favorite teams with their tickets.

”Now starting, the first match of the Beast King Tournament, Block One: Team Nokin from the Garuda Principality versus the Wild Wind Hunting Group led by Aladdin!”

The stone stage was removed for the main event, and the entire arena was set up as a battlefield.

Of course, the audience was safe thanks to the strong Barrier Magic protecting the seats.

The teams entered the arena and lined up.

Nokin’s team was still a 3-person party, while Aladdin had 8 people.

Aladdin was one of the current Ten Elite Garuda, so he didn’t have to go through the preliminaries.

This was his first real match, but the pre-match evaluations were surprisingly close.

Aladdin, Nokin’s opponent, led a Hunting Group alliance during the Great Invasion, urged on by his stepfather.

He fought hard against the monsters outside Abyss Vena, but many people were injured or went missing.

He was criticized by the Hunting Groups that participated in the alliance.

He was participating in this Beast King Martial Arts Tournament as one of the current Ten Elite Garuda, and he seemed eager to regain his lost trust.

I decided to ask Milly, who was watching with me in the VIP seats, which team would win.

”Milly, who do you think will win this match?”

 Milly answered without hesitation.

”Nokin. The difference in strength is too big. Aladdin is also quite skilled, but he’s not as good as Nokin, and the quality of his party members doesn’t seem that high. Aladdin’s team took a lot of damage during the Great Invasion. Some of their core members couldn’t recover. I think Nokin’s 2 subordinates will easily defeat them.”

 ”I see…”

”But they’re much stronger than the teams in the preliminaries, so Nokin and his team will be exhausted.”

As we were talking, a gong was struck to announce the start of the match.

At the start, the Minotaur man in heavy full armor from Nokin’s team moved forward.

He moved slowly, holding up a large shield, and slowly closing the distance with Aladdin’s team.

Nokin and the cat-type man seemed to be watching the battle from the back, just like in the preliminaries.Aladdin’s team had a good rearguard with a Warrior, Swordsman, Warrior, Scout, Archer, Archer, Magician, and Healer.

They concentrated their attacks with arrows and magic on the slowly approaching Minotaur man.

But the arrows that were supposed to hit their target were easily deflected by the Armor, and even though the magic hit his body, it didn’t seem to have any effect.

 The man kept moving forward.

”That Minotaur guy is amazing… He must have taken damage from the magic, right!? But he doesn’t even act like it hurts… It’s not like he has ‘no pain’ or something.”

”Minotaurs are naturally tough. They have a special trait called ‘super recovery.’ Normal damage doesn’t affect them at all.”

Milly explained this special trait of the Minotaur man.

I remember hearing about it from Nannie or Lina before, but seeing it in action makes it seem really powerful.

”Is that what normal is like?”

The Minotaur man took multiple hits from magic and arrows, but he showed no sign of stopping.

”But that’s something special. To keep moving after taking that much damage…”

 ”I think he said he’s the captain of Nokin’s guard. That’s scary…”

The Minotaur man, not stopping at all, swung his large hammer down at the Warrior-like man from Aladdin’s team, who was now in close combat range.

There was a sharp whoosh, and the Warrior’s metal Armor caved in deeply.

The Warrior-like man rolled several meters across the ground and then lay still.

 …Oh no!!

 He’s dead!

 He’s definitely dead!!

Can a person really fly like that!?

The healer-like man from Aladdin’s party rushed over to the Warrior and used Healing Magic.

The audience watched with bated breath.

As the Warrior-like man bathed in the magic light and coughed loudly, a sigh of relief escaped from the crowd.

”I really thought he was dead. I didn’t know humans could fly like that.”

”Blunt weapons can’t cut, and they can’t prevent critical hits either. I’m glad no one died.”

Milly also felt relieved when she saw the man come back to life.

The Minotaur man still didn’t stop moving, and the vanguards of Aladdin’s team were slowly backing away.

Meanwhile, arrows and magic attacks continued, but the Minotaur man ignored them and kept moving forward.

It’s like a moving castle wall… If that Minotaur guy put on the newly completed silver steel armor, he’d be invincible, wouldn’t he?

I watched the man continue his slow advance, imagining him in the newly developed armor, and I felt a cold sweat down my back.

The match went on, and the Minotaur man finally pushed the opposing team back to the edge of the wall.

Screams of fear filled the stands,担心 a repeat of the earlier disaster.

The cornered Aladdin team fought back as Aladdin tried to turn the tide with a fierce slash.

But the Minotaur man blocked Aladdin’s sharp strike with his large shield and then pounded his empty torso with a huge hammer.

Aladdin grimaced in pain as he knelt down.

His teammates rushed to protect their falling leader, challenging the Minotaur man one after another.

The Minotaur man calmly handled the pressing attacks without showing any urgency, delivering precise strikes to render his opponents unable to fight.

His movements were without waste, each attack delicate and calculated.

”I thought it was just Nokin’s team, but… there’s the spearman from the qualifiers, and now this Minotaur guy. Nokin has some real one-in-a-thousand men under him.”

”But Kent, you’re not really interested in guys, are you? Or rather, you have no interest at all, right?”

Milly heard my murmur and brought over some tea.

”I do have an interest in guys. I want to bring strong ones to my country. And I’d like to take care of a good wife too.”
